Growing wants
Tainted PoemsThey say you’re sick
They say you’re mean
But they don’t know what makes you tick
They don’t know what you’ve seen
You’re not cruel
Believe me, I’m no fool
You’re not cold
Believe me, I know your hold
Turn away from their whispers
Come to me, as the line between friendship and love blurs
I know the truth behind your frown
And I know what it takes to turn your mood around
It started with pity
I won’t lie, you were just a friend to me
So I decided to help you
It wasn’t anything emotional
Purely physical
So I stayed by you and cheered you up
I was there when they treated you like a thug,
Back then I comforted you with my hug.
I was there when they started the gossips,
Back then I distracted you with my lips.
I was there when they started the alienation,
Back then I showed them my frustration.
I was there when you were beat,
Back then I showed you that friction made heat.
It started with pity
I won’t lie, you were just a friend to me
So I decided to help you
It wasn’t anything emotional
Purely physical
So I stayed by you and cheered you up
But my intentions have blurred
I don’t know when it occurred
But it was no longer purely physical
It became more and more verbal
And my heart less and less understandable
I started to see you as more then a friend
And my own broken heart started to mend
But I started to become greedy
Wanting you not just physically but emotionally
My wants grew
I wanted you to look at me
I wanted you to think of me
I wanted you to love me
Love me like I love you
