Jungkook couldn't stop thinking about kat.

He wanted to see her.

He needed to see her.

He wanted answers.

Why did she hang up on him after he asked if she liked him?

Why did she want to get rid of her crush?

But even though he wanted answers he also needed to be mindful of her situation.

She wasn't at school again today because of the surgery her mother was going into and he wasn't sure he'll see her tomorrow either.

And the day after tomorrow was Saturday, it was actually the day of the prom.

A group of volunteered students stayed back with taehyung yesterday and are going to stay back again tonight and tomorrow to help get everything ready for the prom.

Which jungkook was gonna ask kat to go too.

The chances of her saying no are high because she already said she didn't want to go to prom because they made her uncomfortable but jungkook could always ask her to go somewhere else.

Yes he can do that without asking her to go too prom but a part of him did want to see what it would be like.

"Has she given you an update?"

Jungkook asked yoongi as they walked to their classes.

Jungkook had English and yoongi had Math which was in the same direction.

"No. It'll be fine kid, just relax."

Jungkook really was trying to do that.

Jungkook was just about to sit down on his bed when his phone dinged.

Jungkook smiled gently and layed down on his bed.

That was one worry gone.

But...

He still wanted answers.

Deciding that now wasn't the appropriate time to ask questions he got ready for bed.

"J-jungkook."

He heard kat's soft voice from behind him.

Turning away from his locker jungkook looked down at kat.

He honestly didn't expect her to come to school today.

"Hey! How is everything?"

"I-it's good. My mother will be back home next week."

"That's great."

Jungkook smiled softly at her making her blush.

"Kat...I-"

"I know you have questions...and I have answers...i....i really do...like you jungkook...but hmm....with everything going on I don't think I'll be able to give you what you want."

'We're to different. You wouldn't look good with....someone like me...'

And then jungkook realized something.

Self-conscious.

She was self-conscious.

It didn't have anything to do with her mothers heart surgery.

It had to do with her weight.

It had to do with her thinking she didn't look attractive because of her size.

And jungkook's heart crashed into a million pieces.

He thought she was beautiful.

He thought she was beautiful with her chubby cheeks and short chubby fingers.

He thought she was y with her thick thighs and thick hips.

He thought she was cute with her plump stomach and short legs.

He thought she was gorgeous.

But she didn't.

And he didn't know what to do with that.

"Hey hmm....it's cool. I understand....i was uh....did you hear? Taehyung talked to the principal and tomorrow there will be a prom."

"Yeah yoongi told me...i hmm actually gonna go."

"Oh?"

"Yeah...i figured it'll be best if I got out more of my comfort zone once in awhile...plus my mom said she really wanted me to go...do 'normal' teenager things."

"Oh hmm...would you uh...wanna go with me? As friends of course."

Jungkook shrugged nonchalantly trying to pretend he wasn't nervous.

"I-i'm sorry jungkook but yoongi already asked me."

"That's cool...hmm...we both have History together right? We should go."

Jungkook in' hated yoongi.

"Alright guys, I'll see you guys later. I have a History test I gotta study for."

Jungkook said, breaking away from the group of his friends and turning down the corner towards the library.

"You still gonna come to our house tonight?"

Seokjin asked.

"Yeah but I might be a little late. Can you just order my food for me? I'll pay you back when I get there."

"Yeah sure."

Namjoon said waving him bye as they, seokjin, namjoon, jimin, and hoseok, were getting closer to the exit.

"Make sure you wait for taehyung. He'll probably be done with the prom stuff before you so you won't have to worry about waiting long."

Jimin said.

Jungkook just waved him off ignoring his hyungs angry 'brat!!'

Pushing open the door to the library jungkook went to the table that he had been at last time he was there.

When he fell asleep and dreamed he kissed kat.

Speaking of kat, she was sitting at that table.

Pausing his steps jungkook pinched himself.

Nope, this wasn't a dream.

"Hey kat...can I sit with you?"

Kat's head snapped up at jungkook and she blushed.

"Y-yeah sure."

She stuttered out, shyly pushing some of her hair behind her ear.

"Don't you guys usually have a boys night tonight?"

Kat asked him shocking him a bit.

"We do. I assume yoongi told you?"

Kat nodded.

"Yeah but I'm going there later. Had to study for History."

Kat hummed, looking back down at the book in front of her.

Jungkook took out a pencil and his notebook before going to go grab the book he needed.

"How long have you been here?"

Jungkook asked as he sat back down opposite of kat.

"Hmm only like 10 15 minutes?"

Jungkook made a noise of acknowledgement.

And they both fell silent.

But...it wasn't awkward.

Which made jungkook happy.

To him it meant that they felt at least somewhat comfortable with each other.

'I feel I'm gonna get distracted with him here...it's hard to concentrate with him near...what if I stare at him? What if he catches me doing it? That'll be so embarrassing.'

Jungkook glanced up at kat to see her blushing lightly.

'He's just so hot...and his grown his hair out a bit...it makes him look even more attractive...wait, , I'm already distracted!'

Jungkook gently bite his lower lip to stop himself from chuckling.

She was ing adorable.

20 minutes later and kat every now and then thinking to herself (and to him) how good looking jungkook was jungkook was finished with studying.

And for the first time jungkook actually felt sad that he was finished with his studying.

"Well, looks like I'm finished."

Jungkook mumbled, standing up from the seat and grabbing the book, heading down towards aisle he got it from.

"Don't stay here to long, it's already getting dark."

Jungkook told kat, pick up his packback.

"I won't. You have fun at boys night."

Kat said, smiling shyly at him.

And jungkook pinched himself once more.

Nope, still not a dream.

With this mind jungkook did it.

Leaning over the table jungkook pushed his lips against kat's.

Kat gasped against his lips and jungkook grinned.

Pulling away from her jungkook smirked at her.

"I'll see you tomorrow kat."

And jungkook walked out of the library with a cocky smirk.

"Oh jungkook."

He heard taehyung's voice calling from the right of him when he rounded the corner towards the exit.

"I was just going to the library to wait for yo- hey wait! Were you gonna leave without me?!"

Taehyung yelled in betrayal.

Looking at him blankly jungkook said,

"Yes."

Taehyung gasped and smacked his arm.

"Some friend you are!!"

Rolling his eyes jungkook continued his way to the exit.

"Why are you so glowy?"

Taehyung asked jungkook as he and jungkook got into jungkook's car going to head to seokjin's for boys night.

"No reason."

Jungkook shrugged.

Jungkook looked over himself one more time before nodding to himself.

It was prom day.

And prom started in...

Glancing at his watch to check the time it was 3:51.

Prom started at 4:00 P.M and went until 8:00 P.M.

Taking into consideration of the stop sighs and lights he'd probably be 3 4 minutes late.

Jungkook grabbed his keys and went off to the school.

With one goal in mind.

Make kat his girlfriend.

Stepping into the room that the prom was being held in jungkook rolled his eyes.

It was very taehyung.

The ceiling was decorated multi colored balloons, one refectory table solely for drinks, (soda, water bottles, punch.) and one refectory table solely for food, and the music was bustling so loud jungkook could hear it from two halls down.

It was very taehyung.

And speaking of taehyung he was standing on the stage standing in front of the mic waving at hoseok to turn down the volume.

Hoseok quickly made his way over and turned it off.

"I hope everyone is enjoying themselves?"

The students cheers were louder than the music had been making jungkook wince.

"Good!! I just really quickly wanted to say that I talked with the principal and he said he'd move the time from 8 to 9 P.M because everyone really wanted that."

The cheers were so loud this time that even taehyung winced at it.

"O-okay now I'm glad you like that but make sure no trouble!!"

Taehyung smiled brightly at everyone despite rubbing his ears in pain.

Waving back to hoseok the music went back on.

"Jungkook!!!"

He had someone scream from his right.

"Ah seokjin hyung! Do you know where kat is?!"

Jungkook yelled so seokjin would hear him.

"Hello to you too!! Yeah I do! She's over at the food table!! Over there!!"

Seokjin yelled pointing towards the opposite side of the room.

"Thank you hyung!!!"

"Go get her jungkook!!! Hwaiting!!!!"

Jungkook smiled at seokjin before making his way to the other side of the room.

He wanted this.

He wanted her to be his girlfriend.

She had a crush on him also, yes she said she wanted to get rid of it but if he makes a move now they could be something.

People are always saying the thing they regretted the most during their youth was not living in the moment.

Jungkook doesn't want to have that regret years later.

Pushing past people jungkook made his way towards kat.

He was gonna live in the moment.

When jungkook's eyes locked onto kat's he pushed past people faster.

And her eyes widened.

She knew what he was gonna do.

And jungkook blocked eveything out.

Blocked out the people surrounding them.

Blocked out the music bustling in the small room.

Blocked out his thoughts.

Blocked out her thoughts.

And just lived.

standing in front of her now jungkook cupped her cheeks gently and brought her into a kiss.

And kat's arms wrapped around jungkook's neck pulling him more deeper into the kiss.

And they stood there.

As if it was just the two of them.

BONUS

 

"It looks like everything went well."

Namjoon whispered lowly in seokjin's ear.

The two were swaying side to side gently to the slow music being played.

One hand on seokjin's hip and the other holding one of seokjin's hands namjoon pulled seokjin closer to him.

Seokjin hummed gently, glancing at jimin who was two couples away from them slow dancing with his girlfriend, whispering in her ear making her giggle at whatever he was saying. Then glancing over at yoongi who was standing near the stage talking with his ex girlfriend, they were standing pretty close, shoulders and thighs touching, it looked like they were working things out. Then he glanced over towards the food table where kat and jungkook were, jungkook's hands were rested on her hips and his chin was rested on top of her head as they also gently swayed to the music, occasionally he would lean away and lean down to kiss her lips. And finally, he glanced over towards hoseok and taehyung, hoseok was smiling gently at taehyung as he pulled the younger closer and tucked some of his hair behind his ear, taehyung's face was bright red and he was giggling.

Seokjin sighed happily and leaned his head into namjoon's shoulder.

"Yeah...looks like everything did go well."
