SEOUL’S CITY HALL
Friday 29th of January
In the weeks that followed the New Year party, Jiyong had persisted on dating various other women, including a famous actress from Hollywood that had come to South Korea for a shooting, and Dara’s hopes on their relationship had gone to waste.
Jiyong had been ignoring Sandara since they spent the night together. That night, Jiyong had joined her on the rooftop where they kissed for the first time. After that, they both realized that they couldn’t ignore the that had built up between the two of them since their trip to the Atlantic Ocean. They decided to both go back to the Park’s apartment, a place where they knew they would be alone for several hours.
That night, Sandara had allowed him to touch her and make love to her. She had shown him how much she trusted him. He well knew when to be gentle and when to be rough with women. Jiyong had been the sweetest lover Sandara ever had. During the whole night, he made her feel like she was the only woman that actually mattered in his life. Without any surprise, Jiyong was a caring lover during their moment. He would whisper sweet words to her ears while ing into her. That night, he made her feel both powerful and weak at the same time. Like she had some effect on him but still needed to be reassured by having him close to her.
When they woke up in the same bed the next day, Sandara couldn’t be happier. That was when she realized she wouldn’t mind waking up everyday to a man like him. In the past, Sandara used to conceive relationships in negatives. She did not want to end up being a cake-baking housewife. Nevertheless, she had lacked in telling what she did want. But now she was seeing her future in the tousle blond-haired man that was Kwon Jiyong. Even the qualities that some women might regard as deal breakers made Jiyong more attractive to Dara.
They had spent the whole morning in bed as he showed his affection towards her again. After a while, she got up to get some food so that they could have breakfast in her bedroom. They talked about their favorite books; on the one hand Jiyong liked classics such as the Knights of the Round Table, whereas Sandara was more into books written by big political figures. It led them to debate on the current political party leading South Korea, after the former president’s impeachment. The whole morning Jiyong had let himself be tender and gentle with her, kissing her from times to times as she was arguing his arguments.
However, from the moment he stepped out of her apartment until now, Jiyong hadn’t been very present for her. He didn’t reach out for her like he used to do before. And now, after several weeks since their night together, she could no longer tell her friends that he was busy working to undertake anything like a conventional courtship. Kwon Jiyong was distant but wasn’t much busy fulfilling his job as the Mayor since he had been seen a couple of days ago exiting a nightclub in Mapo-gu, holding hands with a singer from SNSD.
He had spent his time chasing Sandara and now that she was giving him all her attention, he became elusive. However, she was not the easy type of girl. If Jiyong didn’t want to see her anymore, he would have to say it face-to-face.
In the meanwhile, she continued to smile and to chatter –at least in his presence- as if everything was all right. She surprised him a couple of times by coming to his office in the city hall with meals for two during lunch break. She did everything she could to tighten her bond with Jiyong’s father, Kwon Seoyuk. Sandara obviously knew that his father was the one taki
