SIX: Chit
Pureblood“I’m going to get you out of here I promise so please don’t be scared.” I once told Bomi before I leave her be and beat the hell out of the bastard. I told her not to be scared as I am scared seeing terror in her eyes. I waited for her to answer but she stayed silent and simply nod, a nod with no words. How I wish I could hear Bomi say ‘Rong unnie’ again but clearly, now’s not the time.
Not wasting any second more I speed to help Eunji with Jihoon along with my daggers shot towards him. Daggers thrown strong enough to pin and lock this bastard to the walls as I walk towards him. With Eunji back to dealing with more enemies, I am left to handle this man alone, maybe put in more senses to his mind, “Pyo Jihoon, you need to end this. Stop this mess, apologise to Yoon Bomi, and surrender to the council.”
“You’re funny. The only way this will end is with your head in a box displayed in my office.” He said looking at me with no signs of retreat. “And to hear that you’re talking about the council.. haven’t you realised it yet that you killed not just vampires but humans as well? This is a bigger mess for you than for me, Park Chorong-ssi.”
He’s right, this is big. And as I look around, I saw that it’s too late to save the remaining humans in this old factory as the only people standing behind me are my allies, Eunji and Naeun. Another clan has been wiped off the book.
“And by that, you left me with no other choice.” I’m in deep trouble and killing this bastard will not make it anymore deeper so I ended his life. In front of my friends and in front of the one I love, the one I’m protecting, and the only one that matters, Yoon Bomi.
“We’ll clean this mess, unnie. You should bring Bomi back to your place and aid her.” Naeun told me as she and Eunji gave me their smile, not a smile of victory as this war is not something we should be proud of but a smile that shows how much I could trust them not just right now but for the darker days to come.
“Alright. We’ll be waiting for the both of you there.”
I look over to the corner where I left Bomi, she’s there frozen, waiting like how I asked her to. And now this is the moment I fear so much, talking to Bomi after all that she have seen. “Bbom-ah?”
Still not saying a single word but those tears coming from her eyes speaks so much, she’s scared. I need her not to be scared or else I won’t be able to protect her from all this.
“I need you not to be scared.” I told her softly as I placed my hand in front of her. I can’t just hold her when she doesn’t want me to. From all that she’s been through this night, I won’t force anything on her.
Bomi saw my hands open, looked at me then back to my hand. With her not talking, the only thing I thought I could do is read her mind but as expected there’s nothing, she’s empty. Yet with Bomi being unpredictable this lifetime, she surprising took my hand and said the only thing I need her to say before us leaving the horrific factory, “Let’s go home.”
I carried Bomi all the way back to my place, we bare travel through the woods to be away from the public’s eyes. The travel was nothing but silence, though through it I have felt her trust coming back slowly as she stopped shaking and her grip to loosen up eventually. I also stole glances in between and saw curiosity replacing fear in her eyes.
“We’re here.” I told her as I lay her down my bed. “I’ll go get the stuff needed to clean you up.”
It didn’t take a minute or two for me to get the things we need, there’s no point in acting up as a normal human anymore. So with the speed vampires have, I had it all ready in front of Bomi.
“Can I?” I asked her again for permission not wanting her walls to pile up with these touches. Her wounds stopped bleeding so there’s no need to control them with pressure and just a rinse and bandage cover is what I’m planning to do.
“Okay.” She said with the such low quiet voice that did send chills to me. I started cleaning her up from the wrist bites up to the chain grip cuts. I should be glad that Jihoon didn’t finish her up to the last drop, didn’t turn her as a vampire. I’d be blaming myself forever if that did happen.
“Here. You’re perfectly patched up.” After handling Bomi another clean warm towel and some of the my clothes for her to change into, I stood up from my place and am about to walk out of my room to give her privacy. Not until,
“Please stay.”
“I’m not going anywhere, Bbom-ah.”
“Beside me.” Bomi said and I’m pretty much sure there’s authority in her voice that simply made me magnet back to where I was sitting while I was doing first aid for her. “You should get cleaned too.”
Everything that’s happening right now feels surreal, Bomi keeps on saying things, doing stuff that’s not usual to me, to us. I barely hear her mind and I cannot predict her actions anymore. She should be bombarding me with questions but instead here she is. I can simply heal myself but I let her do it for me, watching her take care of me the way I took care for her feels good, too good that all the bad things happened are way on the back of my mind. “Thank you, Bbom-ah.”
“Park Chorong?” That would be Namj
