The sun is up and people are now out of their houses to do their morning walk, some with the elderlies, some with their pets. It was then I knew that it’s safe to leave Bomi’s apartment for me to prepare as another day started. 

The sunlight on my skin is my daily reminder of the love I have for Bomi, pins that I wouldn’t mind hurting. But this also made me realise such tragic reality of a vampire dead in love with a human.

The three of us, Eunji, Bomi and I were walking in the corridor towards our first class. And as I enter the room I was called by a guy who I’m having a hard time recalling who, “Chorong-ah!” The nerve of this weirdo to casually call me as if we’re friends. “Can we start on the project tonight? I mean, it’ll be nice if we get to finally do it since it’s due next week.” He said, right that group project which I’m paired with this dude.

“Can’t we have it tomorrow? I have something to do tonight.” I told him. Hoping that he’ll drop this project meeting as I really wanted to give Bomi that tteokbokki dinner.

“You have something planned for tonight?” Bomi asked with a defeated voice. “Maybe I’ll ask her some other time.” She thought and I’m here dying to know what that is all about.

“Well I have nothing other than my usual dinner with you.” I honestly said not thinking about the weirdo feeling that this girl is far more important than his grades.

“Dinner. Eat with her or just eat her?” Okay I’m sure my words doesn’t sound that dirty. What a ert.

“It’s fine, this project is more important. You work with him, I’ll work with Meung.” She told me and I know I have no say on this as she continued, “And if you miss me you can always come even if it’s late midnight. My door is always open for you.”

“Someone’s getting laid tonight.” His mind has spoken dirty words again and I don’t know why but I don’t like it coming from him. If I close my eyes to see better of his head I’m sure I’ll see Bomi and I.. doing it and that’s-

“You shut up!” I told him and he looks scared, he better be.

“I didn’t say anything?!”

“Just- 6pm, I’ll see you at the gate. If you’re not there, I’m going. And once we’re done with this project, I will leave.”

He just nod and let me be with Bomi alone in our seats. I should’ve worked on that project ahead of time then this wouldn’t have happened. Now I’m letting my Bomi-time suffer.

“You don’t have to be so hard on him.” Bomi told me quietly afraid that the guy would hear as he’s just 2 seats away.

“He’s making me uncomfortable.” I honestly told her but left the part that I’m hearing his dirty mind. “Bomi, if I happen to get everything done early.. I was wondering if we could have tteokbokki for dinner.” 

“Heol.” Bomi said but her mind says more, “Holy I was craving for tteokbokki!”

“I will be taking that ‘heol’ as a yes. I’ll pick you up tonight.” 

Right after the class I asked Eunji to keep an eye on Bomi while they work on the project and she gladly accepts as she understood the situation we’re in right now. With that at least I’m more at ease leaving Bomi out of my sight.

I went to the school gate as planned and waited for this weirdo to arrive. It’s still early but I swear, I’ll go once the clock drops at 6:01pm.

“Chorong-ah!” Damn. He’s earlier that I thought (or hoped for) he’ll be.

“Can you please not call me as if we’re friends? Park Chorong is fine.” I told him as I walk away for him to follow me to this cafe near our school.

I hate the idea that I’m out with this guy as people have been looking at us as a couple. Ew. If there’s anyone that I wanted to be seen out on a cafe it’s just Bomi. Wow. It’s amazing how I can’t get my mind off her.

This project is as easy as nut. Easy that I finished all the research in about.. 4 hours! Now that tteokbokki place is closed. Damnit. 

I check my phone and now I’m sure we’re in deep trouble as I saw 3 missed calls from Eunji and a message from Naeun.

Bomi and Eunji are missing. I missed her calls but I’m positive that the Pyo clan is behind all this.

“Since I did all the work, the least you could do is compile these researches. I need to go.” I told him and before he even had the chance to hold me back, I rushed out of the place and a very familiar scent conquered my senses. 

It’s Bomi’s blood. HOW DARE THEY TOUCHED HER.

Following Bomi’s scent I found myself in front of this abandoned factory building. Now that she’s too close I’m having a hard time controlling myself. I’m gonna lose it. This monster inside me is taking over my body, my senses.

“Chorong unnie!” 

“Naeun?” I asked as I’m down the ground fighting my inner self. I overlooked the fact that I haven’t had
