TEN: Family
Pureblood“Dad, I’m really sorry.” I apologized as I can already see where this conversation would lead us to. He’s really disappointed right now knowing that when I said run away it’s me and Bomi leaving for good.
“What did you do this time?” He asked and I wonder how he’s keeping this calm posture of not throwing and breaking stuff around the office.
I did tell him the story about Pyo the bastard of Kang that caused everything; I told him how my friends and I just killed numbers of humans during the fight and how we wiped out another clan; Laid out our plan in detail of how my Council friends would take cover for us to escape; I said everything that has happened as he continued listening to me but just by looking at his eyes, dad seems to have settled on not letting me go as it shows no sign of concede.
I’ve been shaking as I tell the story to my father but Bomi’s been really lovely as she stayed by my side holding my hand. It sure made me feel that I’m doing the right thing, that all this will not go in vain. As long as I have her, everything will be fine.
But my dad soon took that comfort away the moment she asked Bomi to go and leave us two alone to talk, “Bomi dear, could you please give me and my daughter a second to talk.” He’s asking her nicely, father has always been the kindest vampire I know and it hurts me that I’m being this child who’s so ready to leave his family.
“Of course, sir.” Bomi said bowing to my dad showing respect and soon lean closer to me, “I’ll be waiting outside, don’t be too hard on Mr Park. Say that we’ll respect whatever decision he makes.” she whispered. I always wonder how Bomi’s been really nothing but the perfect person with the biggest heart, I knew I fell in love with her for that reason.
“Now, Park Chorong.” my dad called and I froze at his stern voice. I shouldn’t be scared, I can’t be. “Are you actually telling me that you’ll abandon this family for her?”
There was a long pause as he waits for my response but I just can’t back down now when Namjoo and Hayoung are out there risking their position in the Council for this. Not now when I know that this is Bomi’s last lifetime.
“I’m sorry, dad.”
“Let me remind you, you’re my one and only heir. There are no other purebloods that will take over my position once I retire. Are you really throwing that away?”
“I’ve been preparing for it my whole life and I do understand this obligation-”
“Do you really?” Centuries of being under his clan, his family. This is the first that my father cut me off of my sentence and that speaks a thousand words.
“I believe that I should leave. I needed to. Dad, please let me.” I begged. Begged for his approval even after I made promises to myself that there’s nobody who could stop me right now, even after Bomi told me that we’ll respect his decision.
“No. I’ve already given you the freedom to meet her all those years. I can’t allow this.” He then took a seat and a deep breath before continuing, “Who else knows about this?”
“Just us six.” I answered him immediately afraid that he’ll go mad mad even though it’s far from his personality.
“I can tell that Eunji and Naeun arrived so can you contact Namjoo and Hayoung right now? Tell them to get here and we’ll plan this together.” He said and I pulled for my mobile but I didn't bring it with me. “You can make your leave while I think of ways to fix this. Don’t you dare leave without me knowing.”
On cue given by him, I walk my way out only to see Eunji and Naeun walking back and forth in our spacious living room. “Where’s Bomi?” I immediately asked them as I can’t smell her presence. Her scent, it’s fading.
“Oh . She’s here.” Eunji muttered in her thoughts looking at me with these worried eyes and I can’t help but panic with the idea that Bomi must’ve heard everything and ran away.
“Again. Where is Yoon Bomi?!” I asked slamming my fist on the glass table only to shatter it into pieces, there’s no way she’ll go without me.
“With Seungwoo.” Naeun answered me calmly, too calm that I actually hated how she and dad have that personality.
“We’re sorry unnie, we didn’t realize it soon enough that Seungwoo-” Eunji started talking this time but soon was lost for words so I quickly went to grab her neck as I pinned her on the wall for her to pick up her thoughts.
“Stop. You’re not doing that to her.” Naeun shifted to our side of the room pulling my hands off Eunji as she stepped in front of us. Certain to make this conversation go smoothly because it’s the only way where we could settle things. “Eunji?” Worriedly, Naeun asked for Eunji to continue.
“When we arrived, Bomi greeted us and told us that things aren’t going as planned and Seungwoo overheard us.” Seungwoo, he can only think of our family as that how my father trained him to be. This isn’t good. “She then told us that she’ll hang out with the other siblings while waiting for you.. and-”
“Yep, Bomi and Seungwoo are already on their way to the council to set things right.” Subin joined the conversation. I started feeling this cold sweat just by hearing Bomi’s name and the council in one sentence. This can't be.
They’re ruthless to humans that have knowledge of our existence, they will never spare her life.
“How can you guys let her go with Seungwoo?!” I screamed that made my father walk out of his office. And the rest paid respect towards him except for me who’s cold still as an ice sculpture as I keep picturing
