FOUR: Clans
PurebloodThe following days went fine. Bomi and I have grown closer to each other as we mostly spend our time in class talking to the point that professors would regularly ask us to shut the up or share our pointless discussions in class. And during breaks we’d be joining Eunji and Naeun to meal as usual. It’s as if the four of us are back to how we were during the first lifetime we met.
The following days went fine, or so I thought it did. I’m not stupid not to notice. I’m not trained or known as the vampire alpha for me not to see from the shadows. It started when Bomi and I daily have dinner dates together, may it be at her place or some restaurants outside. I started to notice a shadow that follows us. At first I thought I was the target so I watched Bomi from afar and I saw him again keeping an eye on Bomi. It made sense that it isn't me since it’s been peaceful for years with our kind. But the question here now is why? Why of all people it has to be Yoon Bomi? It wouldn’t even bother me if that person following her is just a human stalker, but he’s not. He’s one of our kind.
“Is there anything wrong, Chorong?” Bomi asked me and I realised that I’ve been thinking too much that I didn’t noticed that the movie’s done already.
“Uhh it’s nothing. I’m just tired I guess.”
“You can stay the night if you want.” She offered. And as much as I wanted to stay to keep her safe, I know I can’t. I need to tell Naeun and Eunji about this. If there’s anything that I’ve learned from the past it’s that I should never hide such things to them. I’ve been to a lot of danger before and if not for those two, I’d be gone in this world.
“What happened to taking things slow?” I teased, Bomi always step back whenever I start to about us.
“Hey, you’re the one who told me you’re tired. I’m just being a good friend.” friend that may have stung a little. But Bomi and I are meant to be, or so I will make us two end up together as always. For now I should deal with whoever this vampire is.
“Time will come that you’ll stop addressing me as a friend.” I told her and I heard her mind utters incoherent words, funny. “I’ll see you tomorrow in class, Bbom-ah.” I said, calling her again for the first time with the nickname I had for her.
She didn’t say anything but I can hear how she’s been repeating, “Bbom-ah?” In her thoughts.
Before completely leaving Bomi’s place, I decided to hang around a little longer just to make sure he’s not tailing her tonight.
While sitting in a tree branch, I recall the times when vampire clan wars are still on going, those blood years are nothing that I want but right now I have a feeling that we’ll be in one soon.
Year of the Clan War.
I was sitting in my father’s office that time, searching about the other clan’s information as it’s been days since I felt an eye watching me.
I wanted to tell my family and even my friends about it but at the same time I wanted to know the reason myself on why they’re targeting me.
It was a day after that when I’m finally abducted like I’ve been waiting for days for them to finally come.
“What do you want?” I asked them the moment I opened my eyes and saw myself brought in this spacious hall. I don’t know what they did for me to pass out for them to easily bring me here. What more is that I can’t feel any strength in my body. It was then when I realised that I was tied with silver chains that’s most likely hinders my power.
“Your head. What do you think will the great Park say if we deliver his daughter’s head to him?” He said while laughing hysterically, he lost it. His mind. And by looking at the man in front of me, I knew which clan are we dealing with. The Kangs.
“If this is about your son, he deserves to go. He’s a disgrace to our kind!” I told him the truth he denies to believe in and that earned a sword slash on my face.
“That’s right. An heir for an heir.”
I never knew how painful wounds are until this time. With powers we can easily heal ourselves. I knew that the assassination of the Kang’s heir will come haunting our family but it was just right when my father steps into it. When Kang Seungsik started creating vampires from the city that my family resides in, my father didn’t think twice of killing him. He’s been making vampires only to let them turn into ghouls.
Now I’m here chained, powerless, and hopelessly waiting for the time this psycho behead me as he did another swing.
“Oops. I missed your neck again.” He said lifting my head with his sword for me to face him. “Such a waste of beauty, I’m sorry your father isn’t here to save
