More like a surprise
Time For ChangeChilhyun opened his eyes and immediately winced. The light from the window shot straight to his orbs and burned them. He could feel last night in his body. The headache that had crept while he had been asleep was now teasing him. The man lifted his hand to cover his eyes. It didn’t help the headache but at least his eyes weren’t hurting anymore.
Chilhyun moved slightly in the bed and realised an arm was idly on his chest. Freaked out the man jumped up the bed and realised that wasn’t even his apartment. The head was throbbing after the fast movement and he felt like fainting. Not sure why he was shocked to have slept with someone when that was his nature.
“Morning,” the guy spoke groggily, blanket sweltering off the private parts. He leaned over his arm and looked at the man. “How’d you sleep?”
“G…good.” Chilhyun replied. “Can I ask what happened last night?” he sat down to the bed, still dizzy.
“Oh, well, you sang, I bought you a drink and we ended up here.” the man explained. “Don’t worry. We drank too much, but it was a mutual decision. Why my place? Well,” he sat up. “You couldn’t wait, and I lived closer to the bar.”
Chilhyun sat in silence. “Sounds legit,” he commented. “But I have to leave.” he cleared his throat, ignoring the intense gaze of the man in front of me. “This was nice, I think, but I really have to go,” he was collecting the clothes of the floor.
“Try the living room,” the man with big lips grinned widely, when Chilhyun couldn’t find his pants and one sock.
Chilhyun blushed dark red as he bowed and walked out of the bedroom. It must’ve been a heck of a night for him to undress his clothes all over the apartment that was quite big. He heard steps behind him as the man, still , exited the bedroom and closed the door behind him. “I’m not going to tell anyone.” he said. “I kind of have a reputation to hold too.”
Chilhyun finally met the gaze. “Who are you?” he asked.
The man with big lips just smiled and opened the door to him. “Bye, Chilhyun-sshi,” he waved silly, and then closed the door right in front of Chilhyun, who stood stunned for what felt like an eternity. He should stop drinking. This couldn’t happen again.
“What’s with the scarf?” Junjin laughed at his big brother.
“None of your business, brat,” Hyesung stung his tongue out.
“Hmm, well,” Junjin leaned closer. “Either you’ve got cold, or you’re hiding a massive hickey.” he chuckled when the look on his brother’s face changed. “Gotcha.” it was Junjin’s turn to sting his tongue out and fool his brother.
Hyesung scoffed and continued drinking his coffee like nothing had happened. “Did you buy toilet paper by the way?” he changed the topic as if Junjin wasn’t still snickering that his hyung was hiding a massive hickey – which was true.
“I did,” Junjin responded, filling his mouth with cereal. “The best one.” Hyesung nodded proudly. “Hyung?” the said man hummed nonchalantly while looking at his phone screen. “Why do you hate Sumin so much?”
Hyesung put down the phone after his eyes set to the younger brother’s. “Well,” he placed his hands onto his thighs that he had crossed earlier. “She is playing with you.” Junjin scoffed. “She is in it for the money and popularity.” he then smiled. “I could have sugar coated it for you, but I don’t like lying.” Junjin held his breath. “Good thing you two broke up.”
Junjin wanted to say something, but doing so, he would have revealed he and Sumin were in fact dating and had never broken up. “Yeah,” Junjin chuckled awkwardly, hoping his older brother wouldn’t notice that uncharacteristic laugh. Hyesung looked at him. “I gotta go.” Junjin pretended to look at his own watch. “I have a class.”
“See you later,” Hyesung waved. Once the door was opened and then closed, he took off the scarf and opened the camera in his phone. “God,” he had wished for the hickey to disappear in the night, but it hadn’t. “Ugh, I can’t show myself like this in front of Eric-sshi.”
“Where is Manse?” Dongwan questioned as he noticed the unusual silence in the apartment.
“He is with the nanny,” Minwoo smiled. “This way we can peacefully go over the case.”
Dongwan’s face fell as he heard that word. Minwoo immediately knew something was wrong. Dongwan sat down next to him as if knowing that Minwoo had a hunch. The lawyer placed his hand onto Minwoo’s and avoided looking into the beautiful eyes. “I heard from a colleague, who works for your husband,” Minwoo nodded. “…they have a strong case and if they find a missing link…” Dongwan swallowed, because he couldn’t go on. “…your husband could get the custody of Manse.”
Minwoo swallowed too.
“…are you sure?” He interrogated carefully.
Dongwan nodded. “Minwoo-sshi, I promise you,” he held the hand tighter. “I am going to fight harder. There is no way I will let him have Manse. He doesn’t deserve him.” he stated.
“Are you allowed to say something like that…?” Minwoo felt tears in his eyes, but managed to stop them.
“Hell yeah,” Dongwan exclaimed. “You have every right to get the custody of that kid. We have every proof for that. I won’t lose this case.” he stared deeply into the shorter man’s eyes and smiled with determination, showing Minwoo that he should smile too.
Minwoo did.
“So, what is it that he is trying to get?” he asked quickly. “Is it something we can prevent him from getting?”
