Visit

For Them, A Million Times Over

Hoseok and Yoongi wouldn’t leave their spot next to the front door. No matter how hard Seokjin tried to lure the two away from there, they always made their way right back to their spot. But he expected nothing less because this always seemed to occur when one of their uncles from America visited. Namjoon’s two older brothers showered the boys in affection (and sometimes gifts) to make up for their distance and inability to be around more often. But even though they wanted to, there wasn’t much they can do with the youngest brother living across the world in South Korea while they were in America. But they somehow made it work. There wasn’t a week that went by that Namjoon didn’t receive a call from his two brothers telling Namjoon how much they missed him.

“Daddy, which uncle is coming to visit us?” Hoseok said, discarding his toy cars as soon as Namjoon entered the living room. Seokjin was sitting on the sofa absentmindedly contemplating whether or not he should make lunch for the kids or just let Namjoon do it. Jin was feeling lazy today.

“It’s a surprise. You’re gonna have to wait until they get here to see,” Namjoon said, going over to scoop Hoseok up into his arms.

“Does Appa know which uncle it’s gonna be?” Yoongi asked, looking to Seokjin who was still staring off into space thinking about making sandwiches. Jin blinked a few times when he heard Yoongi mention him.

“No, Appa doesn’t know either, Yoongs,” Namjoon chuckled. As Hoseok played with his ear, Namjoon leaned over to scoop Yoongi up in his other arm.

It wasn’t really a lie that Seokjin didn’t know which of Namjoon’s brothers were coming to visit because when Jin did ask, Namjoon had teasingly told him the same thing that he’d told the kids. “It’s a surprise.”

But honestly, Jin would be happy to have either of the brothers here. While Heechul, Namjoon’s oldest brother, was a bit over the top, he always had the entire house doubled over in laughter at something he’d either said or done. But even besides his great sense of humor, Heechul was like a father to Namjoon at times and always had been since their father died when Namjoon was so young. The bond between the two always warmed Jin’s heart.

The middle brother was Jiyong. He was their half brother but nonetheless was wholeheartedly accepted as apart of the family despite having a different father. Sometimes Jiyong could be as childish as Namjoon and loved to be around the kids. Seokjin couldn’t understand why Jiyong never wanted any kids of his own. All in all, both Heechul and Jiyong were great company and Jin only hoped that the both of them would show up.

The four of them past the time by all of them making their own sandwiches. They allowed Hoseok and Yoongi to sit on the countertops with the necessary condiments around them. It was a messy task suggested by Namjoon that, of course, was actually a mess. Mayonnaise all over the countertops. Mustard in Namjoon’s hair somehow. Ham and turkey on the floor. It made Seokjin cringe every time he looked around at how much of a mess his precious kitchen was at the moment. But when looked at his three favorite boys and the bright smiles adorning their adorable faces as they finally finished making their sandwiches, he couldn’t find it within himself to get angry.

“Look at my sandwich, Daddy and Appa,” Yoongi said to Namjoon with a slight blush to his pale cheeks. Aww, he was embarrassed.

“It makes my tummy growl just looking it,” Jin sighed dramatically clutching at his stomach.

“I know right! That looks so good. Can I have some of your sandwich, Gi?” Namjoon gaped, making grabby hands for Yoongi’s sandwich. The sandwich had way too much ham on it for Namjoon’s taste. He couldn’t stand the taste of ham, but he’d eat it if it made Yoongi smile.

“No, Daddy. It’s mine,” Yoongi giggled. Hoseok was quick to mediate though.

“You can have some of mine, Daddy,” Hoseok said, stuffing his- mostly mayonnaise- sandwich in Namjoon’s face. To be honest, it looked disgusting with all of that mayo, but Namjoon took a very, very small bite anyway. Jin almost burst into laughter at the harsh grimace on Namjoon’s face from it.

“You want some too, Appa?” Hoseok asked, pleased with Namjoon’s reaction. Yoongi, seemingly aware of how distasteful Hoseok’s sandwich actually was, only laughed as he took a bite of his own sandwich.

“No, sweetheart,” Seokjin said quickly. “I have my own sandwich right here. But I think Yoongi would like a bite.”

That amused smirk on Yoongi’s lips disappeared quickly as Hoseok whipped his head around to look at him, the younger’s eyes sparkling as he held out his sandwich. “Here you go, Yoongi!”

“I don’t want that. It looks disgusting,” Yoongi drawled, taking a bite of his own. “I have my own sandwich anyway.”

Hoseok made a pained sound at the insult. “Really?” He already sounded so broken and on the verge of tears as he looked at the sandwich, inspecting it on his own.

Seokjin and Namjoon opened their mouths to reassure that Hoseok’s sandwich wasn’t that disgusting, but Yoongi beat them to it. “N-no, it looks… kind of good.” Yoongi said, trying to fix the situation with choice words. When that didn’t seem to alleviate Hoseok’s worry that he’d done a bad job, Yoongi dropped his own sandwich onto his plate and grabbed Hoseok’s sandwich, taking a bite of it.

Seokjin and Namjoon watched expectantly. They both were just hoping that Yoongi didn’t say something incredibly too harsh that would send Hoseok to tears. It was quite the easy task to hurt Hoseok’s feelings since he was so dramatic. But Yoongi didn’t say anything harsh at all. He had just said, “See. It’s so good that I ate it. You know I wouldn’t it if it was nasty.”

That seemed to make Hoseok happier. “Yay! My sandwich is tasty!” Now content, Hoseok proceeded to eat his own sandwich, much to everyone else’s content also.

When everyone was done eating, they all helped clean up the kitchen. Of course it was mostly Namjoon and Seokjin doing the work. Hoseok and Yoongi were proud, however, to say that they had picked up all of the trash and put it in the trash can.

As Seokjin was cleaning the last of the mayonnaise from the countertop, the doorbell rang and in an instant a euphony of hard footsteps alongside two sets of small pitter patters made its way towards the front door. Soon after was a loud, “Uncle Heechul!”

Jin smiled and put the dish towel into the sink before joining everyone in the living room.

“Everytime I see you two, you both gain like one million pounds. You’re so big now!” Heechul drawled as he pretended that he couldn’t pick up Yoongi and Hoseok. Jin leaned against the archway between the dining room and living room with a smile on his face.

“We aren’t that heavy! You’re overexrating,” Yoongi tried. Heechul couldn’t help but laugh at the attempt. “It’s over exaggerate, Yoongi.”

“That’s what I said!” Yoongi insisted, folding his arms. “Right, Daddy!”

“Yes, sweetie. You said that,” Namjoon chuckled.

“Am I really one million pounds, Uncle Heechul?” Hoseok questioned curiously, his head tilted in honest thought. “Am I… fat?”

Heechul looked a bit taken aback as he stood at his full height to look at Namjoon and Seokjin. “I forgot how overdramatic this boy could be,” Heechul laughed.

“We get reminded every single day,” Namjoon quipped.

“It’s endearing,” Jin added quickly.

“Well, no Hobi, you aren’t fat. I was overexrating, as your older brother would say,” Heechul said. Yoongi threw a punch at Heechul’s arm before he could even finish. “Shut up.”

Jin rolled his eyes. He only hoped that Yoongi didn’t say things like this and hit kids when he was at school.

Heechul placed a wet kiss on Yoongi’s head and then Hoseok’s. As expected, they’re reactions were the exact opposite. Heechul almost got slapped by Yoongi again to say the least.

“Come on, you two. Give me some love,” Heechul said, opening his arms to Seokjin and Namjoon. Seokjin gave Heechul a bone crushing hug first. Seokjin was on the slender side but he could give some tight hugs if he tried. It wasn’t until Heechul groaned that Jin deemed it enough.

“Damn, Jin. You’ve gotten strong.”

“Sorry,” he chuckled. When he pulled away, Heechul turned to Namjoon expectantly.

“I missed you,” was the first thing that left Namjoon’s lips as he launched himself into Heechul’s arms. Seokjin stood there for a while longer to allow the brothers to have their moment.

“I missed you too. I really wish you would come back to America, honestly.”

“Maybe one day,” Namjoon said shortly. He and Jin really should talk about that. “How’s Jiyong- wait. I mean how’s G- Dragon doing?” Namjoon laughed.

“Being himself, of course. He about to finish his last concert from his tour today in Europe. That’s why he couldn’t be here. I’m proud of him though. I really am. Remember how he always wanted to be a famous rapper. Now look at the dummy,” Heechul reminisced.

“I remember he used to show me his raps before we went to bed. I was like ten at the time,” Namjoon added. Seokjin ran a hand down Namjoon’s spine with earnest empathy. Seokjin couldn’t imagine being an entire ocean away from Junmyeon and his older sister and couldn’t help but feel bad that Namjoon had to go through such heartache. Even if it was dull.

“Is Uncle Jiyong with that guy yet?” Yoongi asked with a slight chuckle. Seokjin shot the kids a quick warning look as he realized that Yoongi and Hoseok were jumping on the sofa. Upon seeing that glare, the two of them stopped almost immediately. Hoseok was already graimcing furiously, with his bottom lip jutted out, at being reprimanded. Yoongi on the other hand wasn’t bothered by it at all.

Heechul laughed. “SeungHyun and your Uncle Jiyong couldn’t be more obvious. But you know Jiyong wouldn’t be Jiyong if he wasn’t in denial about everything.”

“They have to be dating by now. How long has the been growing between them?” Seokjin chuckled.

“Since they met three years ago. I swear Jiyong is unbearable.” Heechul rolled his eyes. “If Seunghyun even looks at someone else, Jiyong is having a heart attack. But he swears to the moon and back it’s because he doesn’t want Seunghyun to get hurt. The man needs help.”

“No one can help Jiyong but himself,” Namjoon said. Heechul, Seokjin, and even Hoseok and Yoongi nodded in agreement.

“What about you, Heechul?” Namjoon raised one of his brows and shifted his weight onto his left foot. “Have you figured out your uality yet?”

“U-Um! Hey, Yoongs! I heard that your birthday is in a few weeks,” Heechul yelled, attempting to redirect the attention from him. Yoongi’s little pale face lit up.

“Yeah!”

“I have some gifts in the car for you and some for Hobi too. Help me get them from the car!”

Both kids were off off the couch and rushing towards the front door with their Uncle Heechul, leaving Namjoon and Seokjin in the living room, giggling at the oldest brother’s antics.

Author's Note:

This was just a fun filler chapter. The next is coming soon. Probably from one of the kid's point of view.
