BETTER TOGETHER
ENDGAMEHis eyes calibrate, squinting as he holds onto the picture of the pair in front of him. Out of all the pictures in the album, this had by far been his favourite— the genuine smile laced across her lips as her body was wrapped around his. It was strange, how easily he could spend houses trapped in his own memories and the way long rides from the studio to his home that usually left an aftertaste of anxiety could suddenly go by in less than a minute. The car stops and he gets out, quickly putting the photo in his backpack as he makes his way towards his house, only to be greeted by a very familiar face.
Park Chaeyoung.
“Chaeyoung—”
His words are cut short by a dangerous question.
“Do you care for me?”
He doesn’t hesitate.
“I do.”
Before he could even continue, he takes a careful step closer, eyes peering through dark lashes.
Quivering lips. Pale face. Eyes swollen red. Dressed in a pair of gym shorts and an oversized shirt that barely passed them.
“What’s wrong Chaeyoung?”
And she speaks the words that hurt him the most, “… I don’t want to be alone.”
He doesn’t hesitate to let her in before wrapping his arms around her, not caring for whether he were breaking boundaries.
