Chapter 5

Two months later, Krystal is now a part of Yoona’s and Jessica’s life and the three has gotten much closer with each other. Krystal would often come over to Yoona’s apartment to hangout and watch movies together. Other days, she would take Yoona trips to places and explore the city in her luxurious cars. As her relationship with Krystal grew, Yoona’s relationship with Yuri expanded even more significantly.

On a Friday night...

Yulyulk: Annyeong :)

Yoona_lim: Hey, what’s up?

Yulyulk: Nothing much, what about you?
Yoona_lim: Same here, kinda bored

Yulyulk: Wanna call then?

Yoona’s eyes had widened and hesitated to respond.

How should I reply? -Yoona thought with stress.

Yoona_lim: Why?

Yulyulk: You said you were bored

Yoona_lim: Okay, call me then

Yoona had carefully pressed the enter key on her last message.

Yulyulk: Alright, hold up

Yoona sat there endlessly staring at her laptop screen as she waited for the ringer to pop up. Once it did, it made her heart race even faster.

She took a deep breath and answered the call.

“Hello?” Yuri said.

“Hi..”

Yuri chuckled, “How are you?”
“I’m good, how are you?” She said shyly.
“I’m great, haha”

“What’s so funny?”
“Nothing, it’s just that it’s weird listening to your voice”

“You don’t like my voice?”

“No no, I do. I think it’s cute”
Yoona’s face turned red, “T-Thank you”

Yuri chuckled again.

Her voice… it’s so different from what I had imagined. It’s so soft and soothing, something I could listen to every single day. -Yoona thought.

“I like yours too,” Yoona said.

“Thank you”

There was an awkward pause.

“Well this is awkward, I don’t know what to say” Yuri started.
“Me either, I’m sorry”
“Don’t be sorry. So got any plans this weekend?”
“Not sure, maybe just study. What about you?”
“Ah, you and your studying again. Me? I’m probably just gonna go out with my friends”
“Sounds fun, where are you going with your friends?”
“Just a house party, ever been to one?”
“No”

“Why not?”
“Never been invited”

“Aww it’s okay, I would invite you if I had one”

“Thank you but I’m not a fan of large crowds”
“Yeah, I know. Anyways, I need to find a dress for the party, mind helping me choose one?”

“Yeah for sure”

“Great! I’ll send you some pics later on”

“Got that”

“Mind if I got your phone number?”

“Yeah sure”

“I figured it was much easier talking on my phone since I’m on it more often than my laptop”

“Me too, here, it’s …..…..”

A second later, Yoona noticed an unknown number had texted her hey.

“I think I got your number”

The two girls continued to talk to each other for another 2 hours without realizing how much time had passed by until it was midnight.

“Honestly, texting you is fun but talking to you on call is even better,” Yuri said.

“R-Really?”
“Yeah! We should call more often”
“I don’t mind”

I love hearing your voice. I don’t know why but when I listen to you talk, it makes me smile uncontrollably. -Yoona thought.

“How about tomorrow?” Yoona suggested.

“Sorry can’t do tomorrow, I’m going to the party remember?”
“Oh yeah…”

“Sunday?”

“Sure but earlier because I got school on Monday”
“Yeah of course, I’ll also send you a bunch of pics of me tomorrow as well and you need to help me choose”
“Don’t worry I will” Yoona yawned.

“Are you tired?”

“No”

“It’s late, you should go to bed now”

“I don’t want to” She accidentally blurted out.

“Why not?”
“Nevermind, I’m really tired. You should go to sleep soon too”
“I’ll go to sleep when we end the call”
“Then I’ll end the call right now so you can sleep”
“Hmm… but I don’t want you to end the call, I like talking to you”
Yoona grinned, “I do too, but you need to sleep”
“Alright then”

“Goodnight Yuri-ah”
“Goodnight, sweet dreams”

After Yoona had ended the call, she fell onto her bed and hugged her pillow tightly.

“I can’t believe I called her”

Although they said they would sleep after the call, both of the girls stayed up for another hour thinking about each other.

The next morning, Yoona felt tired after staying up so late.

“I completely ruined my sleeping schedule” She exclaimed.

When she came to check her phone, she saw a good morning text from Yuri. Yoona smiled tiredly and responded.

“How did you sleep last night” Yuri texted.

“Not so well, I couldn’t stop thinking about the call”

“Actually? Me either (laughing emoji)”

Yoona was glad to hear Yuri thought about the same thing.

I wonder how much she thinks about me. -Yoona thought.

“When is that party?”

“Around 7”

“Have you found your dress yet?”

“Oh yeah! I was supposed to send you pics hold up”

Yoona left her phone on the dining table to get some breakfast and heard a line of ringing text notifications going
