Lisa couldn't believe what she had just heard. She didn't see it coming. It's as if God's playing a prank on her. Tiny bits of needles pierced through her heart. It was ironic that she still managed to smile despite the unbearable pain and anger. She wasn't angry at Jennie. She was angry at herself for she was so dumb feeling this way. "So, this is the price I need to pay for being a coward. ", her consciousness shouted but never spoken.
"Ok, I'll do it. Give me her number and I'll be the one to invite her. ", Lisa said looking down at her clenched fist. It was so swollen that she hid it inside her pocket. She was so dismayed with Jennie at how she obviously was pushing her away. She walked towards the window in her office. She could see from above how little people could be when you were up high. Lisa was broke right now. She couldn't believe Jennie. She surrendered now. It was heart shattering. She wanted to shout at her face how she loved her, how she could give her life just for Jennie, how Lisa could always find the time to be there for her. Everything about her was a wonderland for Lisa but now she could only see a wasteland. She was out of breath for a moment there.
