Chapter Fifteen

Chul was watching her intently. He have ordered her a full course meal and an addition of two ala carte beef.  He did not even touch his food. He is just satisfied to see her well and eating. 

“Here, you can take mine.” He push her plate towards her and she eagerly pulled it. Though before she touch the food, she look up at Chul and said, “I am not fat. I am pregnant.” Chul nodded at her and agreed, “Yes you are. You are eating for twins.” With that, Yeon Joo smiled as she attacked the food. 

Chul couldn’t believe that after all this time he  will get married. And the fact that he will have twins with the woman he married is a bonus. He couldn’t believe himself that he is this lucky. Looking back at his wife, he took the napkin and wipe the side of her face lovingly. 

Yeon joo stopped eating and look at him instead. She frown as Chul repeat the process on the other side of her face. A tear escape her eyes and she said, “I wish we will always be like this.” 

“Shh…” Chul lean close and kiss the tear that fell from her eyes, “ You don’t need to wish for it for I will do this everyday with you. Not like a task but as your husband.”

A tear escape her eye once again and she couldn’t help but laugh at herself. “Mwoya, why am I crying?” She laugh again and they both laugh. They finish  and paid for their meal. 

They were walking by the river when Yeon Joo said, “I want us to ride a bicycle.” Chul raised an eyebrow at her strange request but did not comment. He took her hand and lead her to the renting station. Chul paid for their bikes and smiled at her as she rode on the back. Chul’s smile widen as Yeon Joo held unto his waist. 

“Hold tight.”
 

And there they were, living like any other couple would. Chul took her round the park and across the river. He was tired but seeing Yeon Joo’s face light up, energize him. They stopped after about thirty minutes because of Yeon Joo’s craving for ice cream. She had a huge appetite now though she strangely despise the strawberry ice cream.
 “Can I have one last one? I love the chocolate…”  Yeon Joo blinked up at Chul and it was his undoing. He nodded, closing his eyes as he hand her the cone. She finished it up in less than five minutes which shocked him. They walk the rest of the wayck to the car and Yeon Joo settled in smiling. She waited for him to go inside before saying, “Thank you so much for today, yeobo.” 

Her words melt his insides that he felt like he will burst into a puddle. How is it possible for him to feel like this? Like she was some kind of a fire and he was paper, ready to combust? He shook his head and tried to get rid of the thoughts but her next action made him more than confuse. 

Yeon Joo took his head  on her hands and kiss his lips. He was so shocked that his mouth is open wide giving her more access. She smiled at him after she kissed him. He was shocked. He was awed. Have he ever been kissed like this? Is this what it feels to be really in love? He shook his head at himself and put the car in reverse, leading out of the parking lot. 

They arrive home in no time. Yeon Joo was dozing lightly making Chul carry her up. She looks so vulnerable and weighted so light than before. This brought concern to Chul and he made it a note to feed her more. 

He laid her down on the bed and carefully went off to his desk. He remembered something about So Boong.  He have to tell him. 

Opening his email, Chul was surprise to see a lot of email from So Boong. They are all about theories of where Han Cheol Ho’s son might be hiding and also update about Yeon Joo. , did So Bong just said that she stayed there for four months? Chul reflected on this. 

Is that why she was so silent the moment she returned? Is that why she looks so lost when they went to the hospital a while ago? That’s why she is so moody and withdrawn and was not even surprise to find out that they are having twins?  She have known all along. 

Chul look at Yeon joo as she lay there, asleep. She have endured so much. Chul couldn’t even imagine her alone and sad, going to the doctor’s appointment with a stomach so big and a fit so sore. Yeon Joo is so strong to be able to hold for so long. Chul laid next to her and pulled her close, “Mianhaeyo, jinja Mianhae…” 

He kissed her forehead and fell asleep with his body tangled with hers.

Chul snuggled close. It is so soft and smells so sweet. “Hmm,” He sigh in content as he snuggled some more. 

“Chul-a?”

“hmm,” he murmured, trying to snuggle some more. 

“Chul-a, what are you doing?!” He was shocked as a hand landed on the side of his face, pushing him. He open an eye to see Yeon Joo glaring at him, her face flushed. “That’s not funny!”

“mwoya?” He yawn and scratch his head. “ what have I done this time?” 

Yeon Joo flush making Chul smirked. He love embarrassing his wife. Yeon Joo glared at him and stammered.  “you are squishing my br-- and snuggling and toying with my s!” Chul couldn’t help but flush at her explanation. He look down.“ I hate it but it is .”

Chul looked up and what he saw was a different Yeon Joo. He guesses that he isn’t really insane when he married her. He knows that she have it in her.

He couldn’t help it. He pulled the back of her neck close to him so he could shower her with kiss and affection.

The morning sun was shining so bright. It was already high up and the haze is making him fuzzy. The both of them are soaking with sweat. He pulled her up from the bed and she giggled. They shared a shower and Chul was given the privilege to wash Yeon Joo’s body. Every slide of his hands makes her shiver and giggle. 

It was fun and lovely. 

Chul decided to bring her out when the skin on her fingers started turning wrinkly. She was flushed and was happier than yesterday. 

Yeon Joo smiled at him as she went off to dress while Chul answered a call. 

“ Yeoboseyo?”

“Chul-a, it’s been a while…”
