CHAPTER ONE

Yeon Joo turn towards her left and smiled. The usual pressure of a hand resting on top of her waist made her smile wider. Her hand lightly brush the face she have seen her father drawn for seven years, the same one she have grown accustomed to, every waking moment of their married life.

It has been a year since they became as one. Yeon Joo lightly kiss Kang Chul’s lips which made him stir a little.

“hmmp,” Kang Chul’s eyes opened a little bit before he smirked, pulling Yeon Joo closer to him and snuggling in the space between her neck. His breath tickled her, making Yeon Joo giggle. “Chul-ah, wake up…”

“do bun deo…2 more minutes.” He held out two of his fingers before his lips curled into a pout that Yeon Joo couldn’t help but sigh, tightening her hold on his waist. 

These are the moments that are too perfect that Yeon Joo couldn’t help but doubt  that it is real—that she wasn’t imagining it. That Kang Chul was actually here beside her, whining about her and her wake up calls.

Yeon Joo closed her eyes and smiled but was suddenly awaken as her husband pick her up from the bed and throw her over his shoulder.  “Chul-ah!” 

His laugh echoed as he directed them to the bathroom. Kang Chul sat her on the toilet seat before he began stripping off. She couldn’t stop the blush that is slowly warming her cheeks. Yeon Joo’s hands shot off to cover her face but he only pulled them off, kissing each of her hands before he also remove every article of her clothing.

“Chul-ah!,” Yeon Joo’s head peek through the gap on the door as Kang Chul looked up from his shoes, “Can you please help me with the zip on my dress? I can’t—” her voice drifted off into a slight gasp as Chul push open the door. 

He gave her a smirk before tugging her close. His hands found its way down her waist, trailing the bare skin just above her bottoms. Yeon Joo’s breath hitched as Chul kissed her bare neck, his hands trailing down on her waist, brushing his before he suddenly laughed. “You really are ready for another round, yeobo?” he kissed her fully in the lips, pulling away only after he had had his fill. “And that would be later. We have to stop here or else we’re not going to be able to attend your party.”

“They could proceed without me.”

Kang Chul shook his head as he stared at his wife who is currently pulling cute faces on him. “Professor Park  would surely be annoyed at you again if you keep this attitude Mrs. Kang.” 

Yeon Joo smiled at her husband as Chul pulled her towards the exit of their apartment and down to the parking lot. 

Yeon Joo bit her lip, looking at their intertwined hands. She was so happy that her residency was finally finished and that she could have her vacation at last, before she started back again at the hospital as one of the regular doctors. She wanted to open her clinic but her means is far too low to support  for her very own clinic. 

The both of them loaded inside the red car the same version that So Boong had. It may be far from the model Kang Chul had from the webtoon but it was better than having no car at all. 

The trip was short and they arrived shortly at the venue. Seok Bum approached them, his hair flustered like he was some kind of wild bird. “There you are! We’ve been waiting for you, come on now.” Yeon Joo waved at Kang Chul as she was pulled away from him. 

Kang Chul merely smiled before glancing around the room. He vaguely remembered his time in the W world, he had once have all these attention, the glamour and limelight. He missed it.

His lips puckered for a bit before he smiled and waved at Yeon Joo as she stood in front of the stage. As Kang Chul watch her deliver her speech, he suddenly have the thought: what if he could go back to the W world and get some gold? That way, he could give Yeon Joo a clinic. She wont have to bear with the other doctors, specially Professor Park. 

But then, the W world is already gone, or is it?

He haven't tried going back in since he had been busy working plus, Oh Yeon Joo was a very big distraction for him. Though seeing her now, struggling to keep up with the work at the hospital, he hoped that he still have the gold bars her in the real world. 

Was it possible though, for him to bring it here?

The variables could have changed for they could surely be varied. It once had when Yeon Joo became his wife and instantly transformed as one of the main characters. Besides, he too, had once been a cartoon character.  

And also, when he came back last year, he tried to bring back the ring the Oh Yeon Joo thought was lost when the cartoon ended. He even purchased himself a car, a watch and their apartment with the small amount of money he brought to the real world.

If he could only go back and try once again, he could give her everything she wanted and she won't have to work. Ever. 

“Chul-ah!” Her voice snapped him back into the current situation. He stared down at her as he s his hands on his waist. “I’ve called you three times already…”

“Sorry, I didn’t hear you the first and second time.” He leaned down and kissed her forehead. He busy himself by assisting his wife, nodding at random people and joining in a few conversations with the doctors that Yeon Joo knew as to distract himself from his thoughts of going back.

Before he knew it, Kang Chul was already making his way back to their apartment. He parked the car and look at his wife. Yeon Joo  was peacefully asleep, slightly opened. 

“Yeobo,” Kang Chul called out to her but she did not even stir. 

He sighed, finally deciding about him carrying her in  his arms. He made his way out and opened the passenger door. Kang Chul leaned in, released her seatbelt and carry her on his arms. 

He thought of how he did the very same thing when she have fainted, the scene on which he shot her with a gun. He did not mean too but he was very curious back then. He was persistent of trying to think about something else but he knew, deep down   that he wanted to try to go back in and risk himself for the sake of his wife comfort.

It is true that Kang Chul had once stated that assets is not important anymore but now, seeing his wife struggle to have a clinic, Kang Chul realize how important money is. 

He reached their apartment door, opened it and headed for the bathroom across the room. He filled the sink, lay his wife on the bathtub and gently run the wet towel on her skin.  He dress her up and wash himself before settling down on their bed. He lay there, his eyes closing because of exhaustion though his thoughts still lingered, pestering him if it was possible for him to go back to the W world. 

There is one way to know and it is to go back.
