Flashback - The dinner night at Hahm's mansion

After Hyomin's phone rang, interrupting a very special moment where James just proposed to Eunjung for engagement, Hyomin quickly excused herself to answer the phone, which was rare for her to do so , all eyes followed her, especially a pair of eyes that nobody had a chance to notice it until she disappeared from the dinning room, then everyone seemed to get back to their sense, Eunjung tried to find words to say , she was totally awkward, she honestly had no idea what to answer though her decision was clear as " No" but how she was going to refuse or make it right , she looked at James then turned to look at her father but before she could say anything , it was Mr. Hahm that decided to speak first .

" Wow , I didn't expect that" Eunjung's father spoke to break an intense silence , he tried to light thing up by adding a little funny laugh.

" I was thinking about it for a while" James stated confidently

" I'm sure you did" Mr.Hahm nodded , " How do you think Eunjung?" Her father asked with his different glance something in it that Eunjung never saw before.

" I ...." Eunjung wished she could just run away from here as far as possible, her hand was wet with cold sweat

" Eunjung must be surprised" Hyomin's mother smiled with her comfort glance

" Well, I know my daughter is at the age of getting engaged" Eunjung's father smiled at his daughter

" But me, as a father, she is still a little girl for me , and I would like to spend more time with her a bit more longer before she is taken from my arm" Mr. Hahm patted Eunjung's head

" Appa" Eunjung was quite surprised at her father's statement

" If you wouldn't mind I would suggest you two to wait a little longer" He said , " Would you ?"

" I think Appa is right, beside I have so much to handle at work for this year end quarter and I really want to stay focused, having some kind of ceremonial arrangement can be distracted" Eunjung reasoned confidently

" Oh yeah, you're right" James tried to hide his disappointment

" Hope you don't mind waiting a bit longer" Eunjung looked at James with her apologetic smile

" Sure , I wouldn't" James agreed. " I'm sorry uncle for rushing thing" He talked to Eunjung's father who hadn't approved his idea yet though it didn't show obviously but he knew it

" I understand this generation" Mr. Hahm laughed , " Back in my time, you had to wait forever until you could hold a woman's hand" He added

" Yeah my parents told me so" James tried to come along with the conversation

Then they tried to come up with someone else to say , but more than anything Eunjung could be grateful for , and then she remembered a woman who occupied the empty seat in front of her before.

" Can anyone check on Hyomin, she hasn't come back yet" Eunjung's father asked a maid nearby to do so

" Mr. Hahm , miss Hyomin has left, she asked a driver to send her off to the company, something urgent came up and she passed a message for me to everyone" A head of the maid informed

" Oh is it so ?" He asked " Well , she hasn't finished her cake yet" He commented

" This kid is so into her work" Hyomin's mother commented

Eunjung kept quiet as she started to worry that Hyomin might already overthink about what happened earlier , she wished she was here to witness the whole thing so she didn't have to hold an unanswered question with her . Looking at the unfinished cake , Eunjung couldn't help but reminisce of time when they were young and innocent , Hyomin always asked to share a piece of her cake with her when she finished hers , given that it was a lucky cake which Eunjung wouldn't mind , she was happy to see Hyomin ate it , suddenly it gave her a tinge of sadness, those days would never come back, and now Hyomin didn't even stay until the end of her birthday dinner.

" What?!" Soyeon can't believe what she heard , her fear is being confirmed when the crew inform to her that they can't find the two missing singers that joined a reality show filming at the jungle from early this morning , Jiyeon and Hyomin which paired up along with other separate teams varied from actors to idols and comedians , gone missing for 3 hours now.

The field crew at the camp got urgently call from the rest of cameramen and staff that they suddenly had a pouring rain where they were filming 4 pairs of guests and everyone tried to seek for shelter in separate ways but when the rain stopped and they gathered and then noticed one pair was missing , the staff started to search for them by shouting and calling thier names but no response .

" But don't worry we will try our best to search for them " The producer tries to assure

" After three hours now, and it's getting dark" Soyeon snaps coldly

" We are having a rescue team over" He explains

" You should have got them over here from the first of not finding them, now I don't even know what happened to them" Soyeon starts to raise her voice

" As you know we couldn't do so, besides....." He pauses

" Besides you don't want people to find out how unsafe the program could be to have lost the guest in jungle !" Soyeon snarls at him

" I'm sorry Soyeon ssi , we are doing our best" He lowers his head

" They will be alright" Other manager of an actor tries to calm her down

" I hope" Soeyon looks at her

" Can you hold off a bit before we inform their family ?" The producer asks shamelessly

" I am sorry but as their manager , I have to do so" Soyeon denies , " Jiyeon shall not be much problem but I'm not sure about Hyomin , as so you know she is from a decent family , if we can't find her, and you know what would happen to your future carrer" She warns and he just swollows in fear. 

Meanwhile , in the city , Eunjung has been frustrating with her call to Hyomin since she read all articles circulating around, and she doesn't seem to stop herself from paying attention to it as they come more and more stories . However, Hyomin's phone seems to be off all these times , and she hopes Hyomin is just busy and not be able to answer her phone, she sent ton of messages as well , hoping to get answer from her woman.

Looking at the time, Eunjung is doing her best to pull herself together, she will have a meeting soon , she is going to ask her PA to bring her an agenda when she suddenly gets a knocks on the door .

" Come in" Eunjung sits straight up

" Miss Eunjung , a meeting at 4 pm this after is cancelled" Her PA informs her

" Oh, I didn't know that " She frowns

" It is just cancelled by Mr Hahm" She provides informtion

" President?" Eunjung is surprised

" Yes, M'am , the president has something urgent coming up and he has to leave the office so" She tells

" Okay , thank you" Eunjung is wondering what urgent matter that made her father cancelled the meeting in a very short notice , she has a bad feeling though, so she thinks she should ask her father instead , but unfortunately when she walks to his office he is already gone, Eunjung thinks about calling him to find out but then her phone rings and it's no other than her boyfriend , she sighs , however , she answers his phone and because of being upset over Hyomin's not answering her question , she agrees to go on a dinner with him tonight, at least to kill the time until she hears back from her woman.

30 minutes later at the Hahm's mansion, Eunjung's father dashes out of the car as soon as the driver stops in front of the house, he quickens his pace toward the house , only to find Hyomin's mom sitting nervously with her phone on her hand .

" How is everything Jiwoo ?" Mr Hahm asks hurriedly addressing Hyomin's mother name

" They haven't found her yet" Jiwoo replies worriedly, she could have been crying from the look on her face

" They should find her , and she will be alright" Seeing how sensitive Hyomin's mom is , he can't show his anger though he is

" It's over 6 hours now " Hyomin's mom " Where my Hyomin can be" she starts to weep

" I'll have people go to search for her" Eunjung's father says , " Hyomin will be safe" He puts his arm around Jiwoon's shoulder .

Dark and cold , with a light from small torch Jiyeon has in backpack from a filming prop , leading them to nowhere , neither of them can figure it out , Hyomin is tagging along slowly , walking for hours since they lost from the group when they ran to find their shelter from heavy pouring rain and accidently slipped from a small hill they missed to see , fortunately they have only small scratches here and there, and it's the first time Jiyeon is thankful to trekking products that she endorses , they are really durable and protect them for getting more injured they can't imagine .

" Jiyeon , I can't walk anymore" Hyomin exhaustedly crouches down, her legs are so sore that she can't go on anymore , Jiyeon turns around flashing the torch above Hyomin's head, she can see how wrecked Hyomin can be , her face covers with dirt and her hair is all messy from sweat.

" I don't know if we can just sleep here, it's obvious nothing that can cover us" Jiyeon sighs hopelessly, she is tired too, but she wants to keep walking, at least some where she can feel it closer to way out.

"It's dark now, it's no use to walk further, people out there may be looking for us now" Hyomin says

" Here you are" Jiyeon passes Hyomin a water flask

" Is my voice that husky ?" Hyomin asks

" You need it" Jiyeon sits down next to Hyomin

" Thanks" Hyomin drinks a little from it then she gives it back to Jiyeon , which the latter takes a little sip from it .

" Do you have a same backpack given by the staff?" Jiyeon fishes through some stuff in the backpack arranged by the staff as a prop for adventure theme , but there are not many useful stuff she can actually use in real situation.

" No , mine is prepared by Soyeon unnie" Hyomin removes a backpack where her manager prepared for her , then starting to go though it.

" Look what I have" Hyomin pulls out a small towel blanket, small box of medicine, insect repellant spray, cleaning wipe and other few useful and compacts stuff.

" Whoa , there are actually useful" Jiyeon comments

" Yeah , Soyeon unnie is very attentive and detailed person" Hyomin feels thankful to her manager who seems serious all the time but then she is always caring.

" She is my manager too why can't I have same treatment?" Jiyeon frowns

" Here you are" Hyomin presses a small bottle of orange energy drink on Jiyeon's face, the latter feels its coolness when it touches her face.

" Seriously ?" Jiyeon laughs before taking it from Hyomin's hand.

" She is so well-planned in case I run out of energy" Hyomin comments funnily

" Sure she is" Jiyeon agrees , " Keep it for yourself" Jiyeon looks at it and hands it back

" Nah , I don't need it, you may need it" Hyomin shakes her head

" I'll keep it for later then, thanks" Jiyeon puts it in her back

" You're welcome" Hyomin says , before starting to spray insect repellent on her clothes , " At least we'll get less bitten by mosquito " Hyomin passes the bottle of spray to Jiyeon

" But we are not free of some other poisonous reptile" Jiyeon says

" Don't mention about them" Hyomin bites her lower lip , thinking of creepy snake

" I'm sure it must be full moon night , even in deep jungle , we can still see those trees" Jiyeon tries to figure out what to do , then she gets up .

" What are you doing?" Hyomin asks

" We need a better spot , at least a huge tree where we can rest our backs" Jiyeon says , Hyomin sighs

" How far will we have to walk?" Hyomin asks

" I see one from here" Jiyeon flashes a torch toward a tree

" Alright" Hyomin pushes herself to stand up , Jiyeon catches her arm

" Thanks" Hyomin smiles to Jiyeon in the dark , but the latter can see it

" Let's pray someone find us before we starve" Jiyeon says

" I'm sure someone will look for us" Hyomin responds while she starts to think of someone, actually she is the first person comes to her mind when they get lost

" Did you see the news about your cousin ?" James asks as he meets Eunjung at dinner

" No , what's about her?" Eunjung eats in misery, she is not happy to come for a dinner but she needs a distraction

" She ditched your dinner last night to rush her friend to hospital" James tells

" Oh yeah" Eunjung acts like she doesn't care

" Are you not upset?" James asks tentatively

" No I am not and why do I have to be ?" Eunjung looks as James searching a hidden behind his question

" I don't know" James struggles

" That friend seems important to her" He adds

" I don't know lawyer like you have so much time on such a thing" Eunjung comments with a smile , a smile that only one person knows it means something

" Well, she is famous and she is a part of your family, I pay attention to everything about you" James explains

" Thank you , but you can leave her out , as you know she is not that important" Eunjung lies , big time .

" Alright if you say so" James smiles

Not important that is far from the truth, and it's the opposite, too important than to lose , Eunjung has to say it otherwise to drop Hyomin's out of James's attention, knowing how cunning James can be with his lawyer mindset , one of those who would do anything to achieve what they want, and if James thinks he is the only gaining benifit from this relationship then he is wrong , Eunjung is not dumb and she knows a reason why her father doesn't easily agree to his proposal, he is a great businessman , investment and benefit formula is defaulted at the back of his mind and why wouldn't he know why James wants to rush thing? Thinking about her father Eunjung just remembers an urgent matter that her father rushed out of the office this late afternoon, she starts to sense something weird , then she thinks of Hyomin's mother , is she sick or something?

" James, I think I need to go home soon" Eunjung suddenly tells him

" Is anything wrong?" He asks

" Just remember that I have something to ask my father" Eunjung reasons

" Alright then" He can't disagree though

Eunjung still feels restless for not getting any response from Hyomin, she puts her phone back to her bag, Hyomin may want to play a waiting game with her , it's not the first they are being like this . When she gets inside the huge mansion , Eunjung frowns at the sight , Hyomin's mother is seated at the living her hand on her head, while her father is pacing around with a phone on his ear.

" Is everything alright?" Eunjung feels something is not right here , her aunt looks up sadness and worry spreads across her face, and all of sudden Eunjung's heart sinks , something is absolutely wrong

" Please work harder, I'll pay whatever for you to take her out safe and sound" Eunjung hears her father's conversation

" Eunjung ah" Her aunt calls her before her tears drop again

" Aunty , what is wrong?" Eunjung paces her step and stops beside her aunt

" Our Hyomin" She higcoughs

" Hyomin is gone missing in jungle for the last 10 hours in jungle" It's her father that answers the question

" What?" Eunjung's mind goes frenzy as soon as she hears it , confusion , shock and heartfelt comes at the same time

" She lost from the group during a filming in jungle sometimes this morning , we were informed last 5 hours" Eunjung's father tells his daughter a detail who seems stunned .

" Why didn't anybody tell me anything?" Eunjung sits up , anger is in her sound

" Thought they could have found her sooner and we don't want to bother you about the news" Her father reasons as if it's unimportant

" Bother me? At least let me know" Eunjung is being uncontrollable which surprises both her father and her aunt

" When was the last time you ever pay attention to your cousin, Eunjung?" And now it's her father's turn to raise his voice

" She is still my family member" Eunjung feels an agony nobody knows about , how can anyone see her pain right now

" Right " Mr Hahm says , short .

" So where is she missing , and how is the searching going?" Eunjung asks in hurry

" The jungle is deep , the rescue teams are still doing their search, it's harder now it's dark" He sighs , Eunjung listens with a wrenching heart , worry is overwhelmed , she slowly sits back down, what painful than worried about her love one is hiding it from people not to make them notice , and the agony is too much for her .

" So will we have to wait here?" Eunjung asks

" Yes, it's not easy to get there by now and we'll have to wait to hear from them " Her father says , but Eunjung is restless now , she wants to go there and looks for Hyomin herself now.

"Should I go the filming site or help with anything?" Eunjung asks , she wishes she could just leave already

" You don't have too, it's dangerous to drive at this time, they will keep me updated" Her father says

Eunjung can't stay still but she can't make it obvious , she is worried-sick about Hyomin that she can't even think straight but she can't have it exploded too.

" Aunty , Hyomin will be alright" Eunjung holds her aunty's hand comforting a weeping woman

" Poor our Hyomin , she must be scared there" Her aunty thinks of her poor daughter , then Eunjung whispers something with her aunt.

" I'll go there and see what I can do , don't tell appa, I'll make sure she is safe , don't worry" Eunjung assures , her aunt looks at her.

" Appa , I'll go back my place, can you please keep me updated?" Eunjung gets up

" Don't you want to stay over and wait with us?" He asks

" Wherever I wait it will be the same" Eunjung tries her best to sound neutral before giving her aunt a reassured smile before taking her leave , her father can only shake his head.

Eunjung quickly calls Hyomin's manager , a person who she talked at the time she picked up Hyomin and exchanges the number with, she can't miss such a contact , a person who is taking of her heart.

" Soyeon ssi ?" Eunjung asks on the phone

" Yes, is it Ms Eunjung?" Soyeon asks as a number she saved with Hyomin's counsin appears

" Yes, I am Hahm Eunjung , Hyomin's cousin" She introduces

" Eunjung ssi , I'm so sorry about Hyomin " Soyeon knows the reason she should call , and it must not be anything rather than Hyomin's missing

" I know it's not your fault . Well, Hyomin's mother is so worried and she is sending me to the site , at least to wait there" Eunjung explains

" I understand and please send my apology to Ms. Park , I can't take care of her daughter well enough" Soyeon apologizes

" Please don't blame yourself Soyeon ssi, I would like to ask you for the direction to get there" Eunjung asks

" It's quite a drive " Soyeon says

" No problem" Eunjung needs to get there as soon as possible , then Soyeon starts to describe the direction and also sends her the address through the phone

" Thank you Soyeon ssi , please give me the update news if you can" Eunjung asks

" Certainly I will " Soyeon says

" Thank you , I'll see you soon" Eunjung says before hanging up

"Hyomin, please be safe , don't do this to my heart" Painful tear runs down Eunjung's face as soon as she is alone again

• God, please save her" Eunjung prays through her tearful eyes.

" Eunjung unnie" Hyomin cried as she was cornered at the back of school building , four 15 year old high schoolesr stood around their junior , her school uniform was dirty as she was pushed to the ground

" Do you think your cousin can always come to save you?" One girl mocked

" Haha" Another girl laughed

" How would she leave her activity partner, a hot boy from school just for you dumb girl ?" The one who seemed to be a leader challenged

" Will you leave your boyfriend for your cousin Sunmi?" A girl asked

" No! Eunjung unnie doesn't have a boyfriend" Hyomin shouted

" Oh , does she has only you ?" One girl laughed , " So high of yourself"

" Well, I don't care though, just give me money , otherwise , you will know what you'll get" A leader threatened

" Why would I give you , you loser?" Hyomin insulted

" How dare you ?" A girl was called a loser got mad and lifted her hand in the air to slap Hyomin , Hyomin closed her eyes

" Ouch" A girl who aimed to slap Hyomin cried out in pain

" Who you think you are to bully my cousin ?" Eunjung twisted the girl's hand

"Eunjung!" The girl was shocked " Ouch it hurts"

" Do you want to lose your arm?" Eunjung twisted it harder

" No , please " She begged , she looked around all her gang members just stepped back , scared , who would dare to play with karate champion in school.

" Do dare lay your finger on her again , if you don't want to walk around with your broken arm" Eunjung pushed her away before walked toward to help Hyomin up , then everyone ran away

" Did you get hurt?" Eunjung asksed

" No" Hyomin responded

" How can you let those girls brought you here?" Eunjung asked

" They said you get injured here" Hyomin said

" And you believed them?" Eunjung nagged

" I didn't think through" Hyomin sadded

" What if I couldn't come to save you on time" Eunjung chided Hyomin while checking around

" I know you will always come , you're my hero" Hyomin said proudly

" I would if I could" Eunjung said ,but she didn't want Hyomin to feel so confidence about it cause they would be time that she couldn't be there for her

" I believe you will always save me whenever and wherever" Hyomin hugged Eunjung's arm , Eunjung just smiled, proud to be Hyomin's hero .

" Eunjung" Hyomin whimpered as she rested her back on a tree , sits sleeping , with blanket around her and Jiyeon who sits next to her and shares the same blanket , Jiyeon is waken up by dreaming voice, actually she stays awake most of every hour, she is not used to having someone this close to her , sharing a same blanket , but she doesn't have choice , it's cold and Hyomin insists them sharing

" Eunjung , please save me" Hyomin murmurs again

" Eunjung?" Jiyeon thinks

" Please find me" Hyomin's voice fills with sadness

" I hope she's not sick" Jiyeon feels the heat from Hyomin's skin that is so close to her , at first she thought it's just normal body temperature, but now it seems not now

" Eunjung" Hyomin continues to call the same name and snuggles closer to Jiyeon , reluctantly Jiyeon puts her arm the woman next to her, hoping it would help her feeling better

" This person must really be someone" Jiyeon whispers bitterly , " The one you can't get out of your mind either awake or asleep , conscious or dreaming"

~ No matter how much I wished , I couldn't be the one closest to you ~

The more Hyomin gets closer to Jiyeon , her heart pounds like it never does before, it's a kind of sweet yet painful beat, foreign yet desiring . Jiyeon holds her breath as she leans closer to Hyomin's face, closer and closer, she gently pecks Hyomin on her lip , and it's just fleeting moment . Call her bad person to steal a kiss while someone is unconsciously calling out for someone else, but she couldn't hold her back, guilty pleasure , just for once ....to kiss her love at the first sigh .

Eunjung gets to the camp site very early in the morning , she hasn't slept all night waiting at the camp site with Soyeon hoping to hear from the rescue team soon , every minutes passes so slow as Eunjung looks at the entrance of the jungle , she wants to go and looks for her cousin but is held back by the crew as the rescue teams are already having so much to do and they can't worry more if someone else gets lost , and it will only lag them with more people going in.

Soyeon has apologized for a hundred times though it's not her fault and the producer guy always sticks around, afraid that his program will be sued by Hyomin's family , Eunjung finds them so annoying , she asks them not to mention her coming here, which both of them agreed .

" We found them" A good news everyone looks forward to finally be delivered to them, everyone screams in delight .

" Oh thank God" Soyeon puts her hands up

" Is Hyomin safe?" Eunjung approaches one of team members who brought good news

" I don't know who is who but both of them are safe , just fatigue and one is suffering from dehydration, but she has been taken care " He tells , " They are being carried out"

" Where did you find them?" A producer asks

" About 12 miles from where they were last seen" He answers

" That's far" Soyeon comments

" Good thing they have blanket, they were found wrapped around a blanket under a tree" He adds more details

" Soyeon ssi , who gets lost with Hyomin ? Eunjung didn't bother to ask or maybe she was told but she didn't care to listen

" It's Park Jiyeon , Hyomin's roommate and label mate" Soyeon tells Eunjung who seems to be thinking of something .

Eunjung waits patiently to see a woman she has been so worried about , it has been long hours in her life .

" Oh " A producer notices helicopter landing in the field, Eunjung turns to see who is coming and she doesn't know until the person coming out of it and it's none other than her father and Hyomin's mother

" Appa?" Eunjung is surprised

" Eunjung, how did you come here?" Her father frowns as he approaches her

" I drove here last night" Eunjung anwered

" You came here since last night ?" He sounds fumed

" Brother in law, please don't get mad at Eunjung , I've asked her to come to check on Hyomin for me" Hyomin's mother came in between

" Did you ?" Mr Hahm asks

" Yes, I did , I'm sorry I was so worried about Hyomin" She says

After about half an hour later, a round cheer is heard when a rescue team show up with two missing singers , Eunjung wants to run to Hyomin but stops in her track.

" Oh my dear" Hyomin's mother can't hold back her tear as she sees her daughter carried out in stretcher while Jiyeon walks on her own beside a stretcher , Hyomin who is in daze , looking at everyone tiredly until her glance stops at a particular person who stands far than the other .

" How are you?" Jiwoo touches her daughter's face gently as if she can be broken

" I'm okay mom" Hyomin tries to smile

" Did you hurt somewhere?" Mr. Hahm asks

" No uncle " Hyomin assures , then Hyomin looks at a quiet Eunjung again

" I'm glad you are safe" Eunjung gives Hyomin a light smile while she still keeps her distance like the way they always act , like they never love at all . Hyomin smiles back

" Alright, I think we will need to send them to a hospital they are way too fatigue and been out in the jungle all night" A rescue team leader speaks after short family meetup

" Yes , please" Eunjung's father agrees.

" We have our helicopter ready " He informs , they plan to send them to Seoul right away because a hospital nearby here is still two hours away so it's faster to get by air means

" Alright Ms. Jiyeon will go with us as she needs a checkup too" He arranges , as soon as he commands his team .

Hyomin and Jiyeon are led to a helicopter , Eunjung can only look at Hyomin as she is being carried away , and there is nothing she can do, she feels her own nail digging to her palm , angry at herself for not being able to step closer even though she wants to be there holding Hyomin's hand telling her how happy she is to see Hyomin safe. She watches until the helicopter is up in the sky and flies away.

" Thank you Eunjung ah" Eunjung feels Hyomin's mother hand on her arm

" You're welcome aunty" Eunjung smiles

" Are you coming with us?" Eunjung's father asks .

" I'll just drive back" Eunjung confirms

" Are you sure?" He asks again

" Please go ahead appa , Jiwoo aunty, I'll meet everyone in Seoul" Eunjung says

" Alright then, please drive carefully , let us know when you get there" Mr Hahm says

" I will" Eunjung waves goodbye to them before they get on a different helicopter they came

I'm the only who get most closest to you that I can feel your breath softly on my face but at the same time, I can't even get step closer , can't even hold your hand , and I'm only getting angry at myself
