Irene stared at her notes from today’s calculus lesson. Eyes traced the neat penmanship and the color coded key points. It was straight forward and took everything step by step. Solar always praised her for them and just in general how organized she was. But right now her mind was anything but organized, Irene just couldn’t understand it no matter how hard she tried. Calculus looked so much easier compared to this.

“Unnie? Are you okay?” Joy’s hand covered her own softly and looked at her with growing concern. For the past 10 minutes she had been trying to get the older girl’s attention but stopped thinking she was studying during their lunch. When she saw the girl was just blatantly staring at the same page since she started it worried her. Irene’s head snapped up and she blinked at the girl before sighing and giving her small smile. 

“I’m okay Joy thanks.” She said before giving the younger girl’s hand a light squeeze and closing her notebook. Joy furrowed her brow and shifted closer to Irene and pulled her into a hug. 

“Unnie you know you can talk to us about anything. We’re always here for you, you always take care of us so please let me do the same for you.” Joy smiled warmly at her that Irene couldn’t help but return. It was true she was always mothering them and making sure they were okay. Joy could be a pain in the but she could always count on her. Maybe it wasn’t a bad idea to talk to her about this, about everything that’s happened over the past few months. 
~*~ Back to the night
“Yeri can I ask you something?” Irene asked as she turned to her younger friend and watch Seulgi pull Yooa down the street and into a store. Yeri raised an eyebrow and nodded for her to continue. 

“Is... Are Seulgi and Yooa dating?” Irene asked shyly as she fiddled with her fingers. She felt her chest tighten as she waited for the answer that would possibly crush her heart. Yeri smiled when she notice the usual confident Irene look down at her hands and squirm in her spot. This should be interesting. 

“From what Krystal and Seulgi unnie told me no they aren’t. Krystal would have probably murdered our poor bear for not telling her right away if they were.” Yeri chuckled seeing the relief wash over Irene’s face so maybe she could have some fun with this. 

“But.” 

Oh no, Irene froze at the single word. It was never good to hear it in these situations. Slowly lifting her gaze to finally look at Yeri who was intently staring up at the darkening sky. 

“I do know unnie really likes someone but I don’t know who she won’t tell me.” Yeri pouted and giggled at Irene’s dropped jaw. 

“Seulgi likes someone?” She repeated in disbelief. Seulgi likes someone? As in someone else? Does she know them? Questions whirled around in her head. Does this mean she doesn’t have a chance with her?

“Unnie are you okay? Wait do you like Seulgi unnie?” Yeri asked carefully seeing how Irene was just frozen and possibly not breathing? Irene looked up at her finally meeting her eyes and nodded shyly. Yeri’s eyes widen and she grinned squealing over the information she only had.

“Why don’t you just go for it? Before her performance, you don’t want to lose to Yooa unnie do you?” Yeri suggested and placed a hand on her shoulder squeezing it softly. Irene’s eyes light up at the mention at her now declared rival and nodded her head.

Joy couldn’t help the smile that was threatening to splitting her face in two. Irene stared at her with a frown and was about to ask her what was with her smile but the younger girl had beaten her to it. “I knew it.” Irene furrowed her brow and tilted her head. 

“I knew you liked Seulgi and honestly I think she likes you too but what do I know. If anyone would it would be Wendy.” Joy smiled softly and pulled her into a hug. Melting into her embrace Irene sighed and snuggled deeper. Aside from her snarky remarks and no filter Joy will always be the warmest person to her. She slightly moved her head back and stared at her for a while before pulling back to arms length. 

“But how would we ask? From what we’ve seen Wendy doesn’t very much like me...” Irene sighed and stared at her lap. 

“Don’t worry about that just leave it to me unnie!” Joy smiled so brightly that it even reflected off of Irene.

“Seulgi! Wait up geez!” The sudden shout of her name made her pause and turn to see who she would be the victim of today. Wendy jogged up with a smile that just shined trouble off of it. She sighed and leaned against the wall to wait for her best friend to catch up. Smiling at the other students who greeted her only to be shoved slightly on her arm. Turning with a raised eyebrow she engulfed the shorter girl in a bear hug and laughed feeling Wendy thrash and whine in her hold. 

“Yah! Kang let me go!” Wendy had somehow managed to pull herself out of the bear’s death grip she glared at her before fixing up her button down. Seulgi couldnt help but grin at her, she would never miss a chance to mess with her best friend. 

“Anyways! Coach told me to ask you to stop by during last period, she said you’re excused so don’t worry about it.” Seulgi nodded and sighed but smiled when she felt her arm linked pulling her along. They laughed and played around until they reached the cafeteria. Seulgi was starving and Wendy well Wendy was oddly eager to tag along. Paying no mind to it Seulgi rushed onto the line and jumped in pure bliss when she saw that they were serving pizza. Soon enough they were both seated and eating as they talked. Seulgi was more interested in her food than anything else at the moment and didn’t noticed the person who slipped into the seat across from her. 

“Hey Seulgi-unnie.”

 Her head snapped upwards with cheeks full and brown eyes looking in confusion. Quickly swallowing her food and wiping her heads she sent them a bashful smile. 

“Hey Joy.” She said before looking over at her best friend who was still quiet since the younger girl sat next to her. Lifting an eyebrow at her Seulgi looked in confusion at her seeing how Wendy was staring at her hands. Before she could even ask her anything Joy wrapped an around the smaller girl’s shoulders and pulled her close with a soft smile. 

“Baby you’re just going to ignore me?” Joy whined and kissed her cheek. Wendy’s face flared up when she heard the dramatic gasp across from her. Seulgi shot up from her seat and banged her knee against the table but clenched her jaw and ignored it. Eyes staring widely at two sitting close to each other. 

“What!? When?! WENDY!?” Seulgi stuttered out not believing her eyes. Wendy looked up with a sheepish smile before turning to bury her face into the crook of Joy’s neck. Seulgi couldn’t help but soften at the sight, she watched Joy melt at the action and held her close placing soft kisses on her
