Percy Jackson should've warned me about thisJennie could see it, the way her chest trembled at the sight of the danger, the way her stomach clenched at the thought of blood sprawling around her clothes, she could still see the scars on her mother’s body when her father lost his temper, only one time, and it still angers her, so much that sometimes she hates the Gods.
The big smile on Joy’s face it’s enough to send shivers down her spine, knowing how naughty the other girl is, it’s enough to fear that smile. When you look into Joy’s eyes, there’s this dark void attached to them, so dark and so empty that swallows you whole.
The daughter of Hermes is used to this hunger, a hunger that drove her mad. She lifted up her sword and hit Jennie with it, making her take two steps backwards, the Ares kid was confused and dazed, not really being there.
Joy laughed.
“So this is the mighty Jennie, daughter of Ares” She exclaimed, mockingly. “The one that has the Aphrodite girls fighting over her. It’s pathetic”
Jennie shook her head, trying to dissipate the shadows that danced around her mind.
“What the hell are you talking about?”
The other girl just shrugged, before throwing a punch so strong and quick, that Jennie barely had time to avoid it, grazing her cheek, where a scratch turned red.
“So, Ares Cabin is stupid too?” Joy smirked, kicking dirt, and lifting her sword again, and swinging it against Jennie “Well, with all those muscles, there’s no place for brain”
Jennie shook her head again, she wondered if someone drugged her, because her body is too heavy, and it’s too difficult to think under the effects. She wants to punch the lights out of Joy but can’t, the taller girl outsmarted her, even if it pains Jennie’s ego to admit it.
“No one is in love with me” Jennie said, her voice clear but sad at the same time “At least, not because they truly feel it”
Joy blinked, and her lips lifted upwards in a mocking smile. She remembers hearing about a strange curse that surrounds the Ares cabin, it involves the Aphrodite Cabin, as if their parents’ drama is forced down to them. It’s a pity, and the Hermes kid enjoys Jennie’s pain as if it soothes her own.
“How sad” Joy clacked, and attacked Jennie again, sending the other girl to the dirt, the girl that for once didn’t put up a fight, but let her enemy kick her, and laugh at her “How pathetic, you don’t even fight back”
Jennie couldn’t move, her muscles didn’t obey her commands.
Joy took her collar and lifted her, smiling cruelly and with those dark empty eyes.
“I used to see why Irene was so infatuated with you” Her voice was full of resent and anger “Now, I don’t understand it”
She let Jennie go, and walked to her team, where two guys chuckled at the Ares kid on the floor.
“See? This was the supposedly stronger kid of the Ares Cabin” Jennie closed her eyes, too tired to move “The girl who couldn’t defend herself”
Joy sighed, and asked for ropes from her team mates to tie the limp body of Jennie to the nearest tree. The boys chuckled as they taunted Jennie with insults. It’s so humiliating but Jennie understood the tactic, an old hate that cabin has for Jennie’s.
“Let’s go, guys. We have a flag to capture”
They left Jennie alone, to endure her foolishness alone. Lisa warned her that Joy wasn’t a person to mess with and she didn’t listen. She just hopes that Jisoo is okay. “Why I can only think of her?”And there’s Joy’s insinuation that bothered to some extent. But now, the shame was stronger than any other emotion. She struggled against the ropes, without any use, they were tightly bound together.
A crack was heard, and Jennie opened her eyes, shocked.
“Who’s there?”
Yeri appeared in her vision, th
