~My POV~

Blackout. What just happened? Why is it so bright? Umma? Appa?

“Eunsun! Eunsun! Is she okay?!” A familiar voiced asked.

“Yes, she’s just a little bruised up. Some minor sprains in her right wrist. Thank goodness she wore her seatbelt. She should be up within an hour or 2.” The doctor explained.

“Kamsahamnida.”

*groan* My head feels like I got hit by a bus. What the hell happened?

“Sunny?”

“Mai l . . .” I slurred my words still half asleep from the anesthesia.

“Shh, rest. The doctor said you’ll be released in the morning.” Mai Lee told me. She my hair as I fell back to sleep . . . *Dream/ Flashback*

“Umma? Appa? I’m home!”

“Hmm.”

Ding dong

“Kat? What’re you doing here?” I asked.

“Bali! Your parents got into a car accident!” She exclaimed urgently.

“Officer! What happened!?” I ask out of breath. I looked at their bodies being put on a gurney with tears flowing down from my eyes.

“Who are you?”

“I’m Lee Eunsun, their daughter.” I sobbed.

“Oh, um your parents were hit by a drunk driver. He ran a red light and drove right into them.” The officer explained.

“Are they going to be okay?”

“Honestly, I’m not sure. From the looks of it, and the damage to the car I wouldn’t think so. I’m so sorry.” That's when I lost it. I saw the driver being put into a police car. He looked at me. I gave him the glare of death . . .

8 hours in the waiting room.

“Lee Eunsun?” The nurse called.

“Are they okay?” She gave me the sorriest face I’ve ever seen . . . and I knew what that meant. I fell to my knees with tears falling like rain. Why? Why? Why did it have to be them? Why does that heartless person get to live when the 2 greatest most loving people in the world have to die?! It’s not fair! These questions kept repeating in my mind. All of a sudden I saw two figures emerging from a distance. I finally recognized who it was. My mom and dad. Umma? Appa?

“Oh Eunsun, we’ve missed you so.” My mother spoke to me as she took me in her arms.

“You’re so grown up now.” My father observed as he embraced me as well.

“Omo, I’ve missed you both soo much. Why did you have to leave me? I need you, I need you both here with me. I can’t survive on my own anymore.” I sobbed.

“No sweetheart. You’re a strong young lady, you’ll figure this out. When the time is right, things will change for the better. In due time, good things will happen. Oh we have to go. Keep us close in your dreams.” My umma started disappearing before me, my appa too! What’s going on?

“Yah wait, tell me one thing. Where were you coming from when it happened?”

“To finally give you the little green box . . . gone.

NO! I woke up with sweat dripping down from my head as if I just came back from a gym.

“Sunny!” Mai Lee called.

“My parents are dead!” I yelled.

“I know.” She gave me an odd look.

“No! They died because of me!” I screamed.

“No, that’s not true.” Mai Lee tried to assure me.

“How would you know?! Were you there when they died?!” Ugh, how would she know? They died just to show me a little box that I’ve non-stopped bugged them about.

“No, but

“But what?!” I started bawling. “I’m sorry, can I just please be alone? I need to think.” Obediently, she got up and left, but before she reached the door. She put something on my night stand. A little piece of paper with

Numbers?

It’s an address . . .
