Tenth Chapter
Yet another Korean dramaA man was walking his dog at the side of a road, when a car hit another car. It came from nowhere, surprising the car that had been standing in the traffic lights. The man picked his dog up and sprang to the car. He had seen a flash of the black KIA. The car that had been hit, stood at the side of the road, the side dented. The backlights were flickering, signing the car was about to turn.
The dog whined int the man’s arms as he looked inside the car. A man, sitting behind the steering wheel, had blood on his face. His hands rested on his lap and he was unconscious – he was still breathing. There was another man at the backseat. He was awake. He was looking around panicked. He was bleeding too, but not as much as the driver. The man at the backseat turned his head at the man and his dog and groaned something. The front window and the back window were shattered.
The man at the backseat was grunting, trying to say something. Then the man with the dog heard what he was saying. He asked him to call the ambulance. The man put the dog down, shivering hands fished out his phone, and called an ambulance. “Stay there, and make sure the driver is breathing. Ask questions from the passenger, okay?” The man with the dog turned to the backseat. “What’s your name?” he asked.
The man at the backseat, tried hard to keep his eyes opened, “Eric…” the man groaned. “Eric Mun…”
Minwoo felt a horrifying feeling in his chest. Suddenly everything felt heavy and uneasy. The foot stopped moving the pedal. Dongwan turned his head when the sounds of the sewing machine disappeared. He had come to see some designs for a red-carpet attire. “What’s wrong?” he interrogated the designer.
“I suddenly feel cold…” the older man replied. He was about to continue his work, when his phone rang. “Hello?” Minwoo responded quizzically. He didn’t know the number. “Yes, I am,” Dongwan turned his head from the newspaper to the fashion designer again. Minwoo was frowning. Dongwan could hear a woman through the speaker. “Are you sure…?” Minwoo touched his chest. “I see…” his eyes were turning watery. “I’ll be right there.” the designer put the phone away.
Dongwan didn’t feel like reading the newspaper anymore. “Bad news?” he started.
“Yeah,” Minwoo kept holding his heavy chest. “I need to go to the hospital.”
“What happened?” Dongwan scowled.
“I don’t know,” Minwoo spoke. “Something about Eric and Junjin and a car and…” he had to grab a hold on the table. Dongwan hurried up from the couch. “I need to go to the hospital,” the fashion designer was sobbing. “We must.” he grabbed Dongwan’s shirt.
“Of course,” Dongwan nodded. “I’ll drive you.”
Minwoo didn’t want to drive when he was feeling like he was being ripped into pieces. Dongwan grabbed their jackets and keys and his bag, and they exited Minwoo’s office. The car was in front of the building. Minwoo climbed to the front seat, nervously nibbling his bottom lip, while the other hand remained on his chest.
“We should inform Hyesung and Andy too,” Minwoo whispered.
“You sure?” Dongwan asked.
“Yes,” The designer convinced. “I’m very sure.”
The singer stared at the older man and then grabbed the hand on the chest. “Hey, everything will be fine,” Minwoo glanced at Dongwan. He flashed a smile. “Take a deep breath.” Dongwan commanded,
