I Never Understood

Description

I never understood how the girl be with the man who treats her horribly
I never understood how she could just chose him over someone who actually cares.
I never understood how anyone could love a person like him.
I never understood any of it.
I never understood, until now.

My name is Yoon Minji. I am eighteen years old. Hometown Seoul, Korea. My mother died when I was young so on the rare occasion I live with my father. My father is a business man. He flies all around Asia for work and that’s why I only get to stay with him on the rare occasion. A year after my mother passed, when I was seven, my fathers’ business trips began to become more frequent. Without counting the years I was sent to study abroad I have lived with my fathers’ brother and his family. Having stayed with them most of my life I developed a close relationship with my cousin DooJoon. He was, and still is like an older brother to me as well as being my best friend, so this year when I return to Seoul over Summer Break he has already planned that we spend as much time as we can together. Me, him, and five other boys that debuted in the band B2ST.

Foreword

Teaser Time!

“MINJI!” I heard a familiar voice shout at me. I turned around to see my cousin Doojoon yelling at me from across the airport.
“DOOJOON!” I yelled back as I ran towards him.
As I got closer he open his arms which I more than happily ran into and he spun me around. We gained a few ‘what the heck’ stares along with a few ‘Isn’t that romantic’ looks. I will admit that if you didn’t know better you would think we were a couple.
“It’s been forever” Doojoon said placing me down.
“Only a year” I smiled
“You didn’t come back for Christmas like you did last year”
“I know. Jane was graduating this year and we wanted to spend our last holiday together.” Jane was my best friend in my first year abroad in California. Luckily she had a sister who was very into Korean culture so she knew basic Korean which made it easier to get used to life there. Unfortunately this year was her last and she was off to University on the other side of the country.
“So you blew off our Christmas party, and not mention ME, for her?” Doojoon said with a pout.
“Basically” I laughed. I soon realized that standing behind Doojoon stood four boys about his age, just staring, the shortest one smiled slightly.
“Umm..hi?” I said to them.
“Oh right!” Doojoon said turning around to face the same direction as me. “This is Yang Yoseob, Jang Hyunseung,  Son Dongwoon” he then pointed to the shortest one “and Lee Kikwang”
“Nice to meet you” I smiled
“It’s nice to meet you too” they all chimed at once.
“Doojoon-oppa, didn’t you tell me there’s six in this group. I only count five” I said counting them over again.
“Yeah, Junhyung couldn’t make it due to the fact he was too lazy to crawl out of bed to come get you. You’ll meet him later though” he explained.
“Well should we go find your luggage?” Hyunseung suggested.
“I think we should” I smiled at him and we all headed towards the luggage pick up.
“Minji, how old are you?” the one named Yoseob asked.
I went to answer when Doojoon interrupted “Eighteen”
“Hey now, I was asking her” Yoseob pouted hitting my cousin on the shoulder earning him a glare. “Aish, I’m sorry.” He hid behind me.
“Doojoon! No scaring your dongsaengs!” I laughed pushing him slightly.
“Do you and hyung have the same killer glare?” Kikwang asked.
“Hers is worst” my cousin yet again answered for me.
“So not!” I said shooting him a glare.
“Ahhh! It is” Yoseob cried hiding behind Dongwoon.
“What the the hell” Dongwoon said trying to pry Yoseobs fingers off his shoulders. “Visual, and Mental Maknae” he sighed.
Basically the whole time we were in the airport Yoseob was acting like a child. Dongwoon eventually gave up on trying to act mature in public and joined him. Doojoon patiently waited for my suitcase, he knows what it looks like due to the fact that it’s been the same for the past six years. Hyunseung was standing with my cousin while I was sitting down on one of the benches, head  rolled back, eyes closed.
“Tired are you?” a voice said.
I opened my eyes to see the shorter one from earlier, Kikwang, with the same smile.
“Yeah” I said letting out a yawn.  “Long flight, and back in California it is about three in the morning”
“Time changes must be hard”
“I find it’s more hard when I leave Korea, by this time tomorrow my jet lag should be gone.”
“That’s excellent” he smiled again.
“Yeah born traveller, just like her father” Doojoon said. I looked up to see him and Hyunseung with my luggage.
“Well let’s go!” I said standing up.
“Awwwh, but I was having so much fun” Yoseob whined as Dongwoon pushed him over on one of the luggage carts.
“Don’t worry, you’ll be back here soon to drop me—“
“LALALALALA” sang Doojoon cutting me off. “There will be no talk of that”
He was never good with goodbyes, or at least when it came to saying goodbye to me.
I just smiled and gave him a tight hug as he wrapped his arm around my shoulder and we proceeded to the exit and into the vehicle.
“Man I cannot wait to get home and crawl into bed” I yawned.
“Well we have to stop off at the studio for at least an hour before we take you home, but you can easily sleep there” Doojoon, who sat next to me, said.
“Sounds fine with me. As long as I get to sleep” I smiled.
The drive was a long one. I passed out about a half-an-hour in. I felt the car stop, and I felt someone pick me up. I knew it was Doojoon because he was wearing the cologne I have been buying him every year for Christmas since I had been living in the US. It was originally just suppose to be a joke, but he liked the smell so I just kept buying it for him. I was softly put down on something cushiony, I assume it was a couch, and Doojoon leaned down to give me a light kiss on my forehead.
“I missed you” he said quietly.
And that was the last peaceful moment that I remember before I heard a loud annoyed voice, and felt myself being shaken, and quite rough if I do say so myself.

Authors Corner
Helloo! This is the teaser for my new fiction...name...name...probably should have thought of a name before I wrote this...
Ummmmm.... I never understood.
That works.
*goes and edits description*
No idea when I'll have time to write the next part so please don't hate me for the wait.
I will be also working on a Leeteuk one, as well I have other fanfics on other sites that I have a few more chapters to finish.
So please bare with me.
Doojoon is actually my favorite in the group(reason for being my cousin-so I wont be focused more on him), but I have made up this fanfic based on how I picture Junhyung.
Please don't hate me if you don't like it at first, it'll get better I promise.
So leave a comment below!
More comments I get the more likely I'll be inspired to write ;D.
