Nine weeks, Eunji mouthed under her silent breath. What was it in month? Two? Three? How long was nine weeks? Was it longer than a drama to finish? Or was it shorter than a season? What people could normally do in nine weeks?
Nine weeks, she muttered one more time when the red light turned green. She might hit her pedal but there wasn’t any certain destination. It’s only an escape. Staying still at home didn’t seem helping at all. She did, a couple of days staying and she ended up day dreaming all day while counting how long nine weeks was.
It wasn’t clear, the emotion she should have. Although fear seemed like the obvious one, she didn’t feel anything but disoriented since dr. Park, one of the doctors—a gynecologist—working under Plan A said it’s nine weeks old. It’s funny, when she recalled, how that doctor spoke as if it had an age, like her, like any human being. She explained how small it was, not even bigger than her thumb, how could such tiny thing had an age? It wasn’t even here, and nobody could even tell whether it would be here someday. To tell the truth, she wasn’t convinced. How could that doctor count that? It didn’t seem that long. And there, she immediately remembered that doctor saying stuff like how the counting done although she couldn’t exactly recall.
