Title: S for Sunny Author's Note: I really wanted to write something short and fluffy for Christmas. I thought all of us would need it after what happened the past week :) “I swear on my deathbed, she hates my guts,” Taeyeon grunted, trying to pry open the door that was locked from the inside.   “You’re being too dramatic.”   “People tend to do that when the person they love hates their very existence,” Taeyeon scowled at Tiffany’s deadpan tone.   “Can you blame her? You were being too noisy in a church.”   “I was being supportive! It’s an important performance for her.”   Tiffany rolled her eyes. “For ’s sake, it was just a solo part of a choir.”   “Exactly! Do you know how many talented singers are in that group?”   “It’s still the rehearsal!”   “Does it matter? She was singing her heart out!”   “You–“ Tiffany sighed, finally realizing that it was pointless to continue the argument with Taeyeon, especially when it comes to Sunny. “Whatever, I’m going to get coffee. You wanna come with?”   “Nah, I’m going to wait until she’s done with rehearsal.”   Tiffany was sure that Sunny specifically said to them – well, she was there too, but she wasn’t the one cheering like a mad person at the singer – to leave her alone, but nope, coffee was more important than starting another argument. “Alright, see you tomorrow Tae.”   Taeyeon waved languidly at the brunette who walked briskly toward her favorite coffee shop near their campus. Not missing a beat, Taeyeon made her way to the nearest bench overlooking the church gate. Stuffing her hand in her coat, the long-haired woman set her gaze on the door, waiting patiently for Sunny to finish rehearsing.   It was almost two hours later when a group of people came out from the church, carrying the same red music folder. Taeyeon stood up, sniffling a snot that was starting to form from waiting in the winter. Her smile bloomed at the sight of Sunny who was talking animatedly with her conductor. She set her gaze on the small brunette, not caring about the scowl that was directed at her from the other choir members who happened to pass by.   At the sight of grinning Taeyeon near the bench, Sunny stopped in her track and bowed with the conductor, who also scowled at the raven-haired woman.   “Hi. How was practice?” Taeyeon said to Sunny when she was mere steps away.   “I told you to leave, didn’t I? It’s cold out here,” Sunny frowned, her tone laced with disapproval.   “But I could hear your voice from here,” Taeyeon lied, enjoying how Sunny’s frown deepened at her.   “Stop lying.” Sunny pulled a scarf from her neck, putting it around Taeyeon’s instead. “You don’t even wear a scarf.”   Taeyeon’s smiled wider, enjoying the attention and the warmth on the neck. “I don’t need it. Your love is warm enough.”   Shortly after saying it, Taeyeon sneezed so hard that she even coughed afterward.   “Right,” Sunny deadpanned, watching Taeyeon sniffled but still managed to grin at her. “Let’s go get you something warm before you get sick.”   Sunny then pulled Taeyeon to the nearest coffee shop, the one the latter frequents with Tiffany. After ordering two cups of hot chocolate, they picked a corner table where there were fewer people walking around.   “Feeling better?” Sunny asked after Taeyeon took a sip of her chocolate.   “Loads,” Taeyeon grinned, to which Sunny scoffed.   “You’re such a dork. That’s what you get for waiting in the cold.”   “Then you shouldn’t have kicked me out.”   “You’re being noisy!” Sunny reprimanded, ignoring Taeyeon’s pout. “I doubt the rest of the group will let you in on our next practice after what you did today.”   “I could behave next time, if you let me.”   “Really? You would do that?”   “You know I’ll do anything for you.”   As Taeyeon was scooting closer, Sunny knew just what she wanted to do that she slightly moved just before their lips met. Albeit not meeting her lips, Taeyeon still lingered on Sunny’s cheek, only scooting away when the latter pushed her shoulder.   “Sorry. There are many people walking around,” Sunny muttered, referring to the people outside of the store.   “It’s okay,” Taeyeon removed a stray hair from Sunny’s face, who was blushing while taking a sip of her beverage. “You’re just so cute, I couldn’t help myself.”   “Taengoo,” Sunny whined, hating that she couldn’t be as open as Taeyeon in showing her affection.   “Sorry, sorry,” Taeyeon giggled at Sunny’s blushing face. “But I meant it when I said I’ll do anything for you.”   “Whatever you say, Casanova.”   Contrary to what she said, Sunny was scooting closer to Taeyeon, aiming for her sides. Squirming at the attacks, Taeyeon just let her tsundere of a girlfriend tickle her. Because after a year of dating, that was her way of showing affection in public. When Sunny finally stopped, Taeyeon took the hand that was tickling her, interlacing it with hers instead under the table. Their afternoon was spent that way, and Taeyeon wouldn’t have it any other way.   #   The days before Christmas became quite uneventful as the couple went on with their activities; Sunny with her choir practices and Taeyeon… well, Taeyeon was busy filling her time while waiting for her girlfriend to finish her practice. She put some of the extra time to buy a Christmas gift for Sunny, after deciding that buying a long red ribbon to tie herself in and be the gift was a bad idea. That afternoon after dropping Sunny off to practice, she bought a necklace with a tiny S as the pendant.   The necklace was beautiful. She even had a haircut to tidy her look, letting it fall to her shoulder like Sunny did. Overall, Taeyeon was all set for Christmas. Or so she thought.   “You haven’t shopped for groceries?!” Sunny asked with wide eyes when Taeyeon picked her up from practice with empty hands.   “Eh? It’s still the 23rd, right?”   Sunny sighed, pulling Taeyeon towards a bus stop with a tug. “But we have to shop today! The produce will be sold out by tomorrow, and I can only cook tonight!”   “Why? I can help you out in the kitchen,” Taeyeon quickly scrambled when Sunny was walking a little too fast on an icy streetwalk.   “I have the mass tomorrow, Taengoo, how can I be in two places at the same time?!”   Sunny’s tone of irritation was evident that Taeyeon was taken aback, but said nothing. Instead, she walked faster to match her girlfriend’s pace, glancing at her every now and then. She wished Sunny would notice her haircut first before lashing out,
