Aren’t you tired of lying to people about your so-called ‘relationship’?”   Taeyeon glanced at Sunny who was glaring at her. That afternoon was supposed to be the day when they spend it together in the dorm just being with each other. Their conversation somehow turned to Taeyeon’s ‘relationship’ with Baekhyun and things started to get tense. It didn’t take a genius to see that Sunny was angry, but that wasn’t their first argument about the matter either, so Taeyeon tried to keep her composure by answering calmly. “Of course I am, but there’s nothing I can do about it.”   “Do I mean anything at all to you?! Don’t you know how hard it is to keep pretending that I’m fine?!”   By then Sunny had shouted at her that Taeyeon felt her patience running out. She was tired of arguing about the same thing over and over again that she replied ferociously, raising her tone by every sentence. “Then what do you want me to do? Hold your hand whenever we are out in public? Kiss you in the middle of an event so people can see that we’re dating?!”   “If that’s what it takes for the public to know that I’m your girlfriend then yes!”   “Great! Then let the public know that two members of the nation’s girl group are gay and currently dating each other! Let’s see what will become of our reputation when that kind of news broke out!! Let’s see what will become of us when that happens!!”   “I don’t care!”   “So you don’t care if we can’t sing?! You don’t care about your fans?! You don’t care about our careers?!”   The word ‘fans’ struck a different string, and Sunny knew that Taeyeon knew it, thus bringing it up. For her, fans were one of her many reasons why she kept doing what she had been doing, and the thought of breaking the fans’ hearts made her falter. Nevertheless, that was not what she meant to talk about in the first place, and it frustrated her how Taeyeon didn’t get the point of the argument at all. “Ugh! You don’t understand me at all!” she shouted in frustration, standing up from the sofa to calm herself down.   “Look how selfish you are being right now. You better start thinking about what I said, Lee Soonkyu! Maybe then you’ll realize what we’ll lost compared to what we gain when those things happen for real!!”   Sunny glared at Taeyeon in disbelieve. How was she selfish when she was just wanted to be honest and not having a façade in front of everybody? What’s next then? Did she have to lie to herself? “I’m selfish? I’m not the one ignoring her girlfriend for days because she needed time to be by herself during the rare downtime we have! I’m tired of waiting, I’m sick of it!”   A drop of tears came out at the end of Sunny’s sentence and immediately silenced the older girl. Just when the latter opened to say something, Sunny stormed to her room, covering so that her sobs didn’t came out.   The scene broke Taeyeon’s heart but there was nothing she could say at that moment. She, too, was offended with what Sunny said. In her frustration she threw herself on the sofa, grabbing on the nearest cushion to muffle her screams of frustration.   “You two are fighting again?”   Taeyeon pushed the cushion away from her face, seeing Tiffany with a plate of spaghetti in her hand and a glass of water in the other, taking a seat in front of the television. The girl grabbed the remote to change the channel before looking at her in sympathy.   Whilst taking a bite of her lunch, Tiffany studied Taeyeon’s gloomy expressions. The black-haired girl sat up and exhaled loudly, looking at the television with an empty gaze.   “Yeah. She’s asking me to break-up with Baekhyun – again.”   “Do it then. It’s not even real in the first place,” Tiffany said after gulping her bite.   Taeyeon rolled her eyes. “Right, and have SM’s board of directors on my again. It happened once, and I don’t want it to happen again.”   “You know that’s not what she meant. She just needs you to spend time with her more, Taetae. She cares about you a lot, but you rarely show the same thing to her these days.”   “What more do I have to show that I truly care? I got into this fake relationship to protect my relationship with her!” Taeyeon leaned her back to the sofa, rubbing her throbbing temple. She let out a shaky breath before continuing, “There’s nothing I can do, Fany-ah. I have to keep this until SM gives me the green light to break up.”   The plate of spaghetti was momentarily forgotten once Tiffany saw how desperate Taeyeon was at that time. Being their roommate for years, she knew that the couple often argue about the matter, but it was their most intense argument so far about the matter. Taeyeon was right; there was nothing she could do at the moment. “Then at least call her more. She misses you,” she finally said.   With that, Taeyeon fell silent.   #   “Thank you for your hard work!”   Sunny bowed to the radio producers and writers after finishing another radio broadcast in MBC that evening. With a bright smile, she excused herself to leave the studio with one of her managers’ . The walk to the car was quite far, so she opened a small talk with him instead of busying herself with her games. She got reminded that TaeTiSeo would perform in Seoul Music Award that very evening, and since she was still in a cold war against her girlfriend, she casually talked about her well-beings. “Oppa, TaeTiSeo is in their schedule, right?”   “Umm, yeah.”   It was supposed to be a casual, relaxing conversation, but the tensed look on her manager’s face made her curious. “Are you okay Oppa? You seem tense.”   “It’s okay; I’m just a little tired.”   The elevator dinged open and Sunny walked inside, followed by the said manager. “Hang in there, Oppa. You can rest well after dropping me off in Seongbukdong,” she said with a smile. Again, the manager just smiled awkwardly.   Guessing that the manager was not in a mood for small talks, Sunny grabbed her phone from her purse. Tons of notifications were there, as usual, but she ignored them and opened her Simpsons’ Tapped Out game instead. Along the way to the company car, she occupied herself with the game – arranging things and assigning the characters to do some tasks.   By the time Sunny had sat comfortably on the backseat of the car and on her way to Roommate’s sharehouse, she had done everything she needed to do and started checking her phone notifications. Her Twitter notifications were flooded with fans mentioning her, as usual, but what shocked her was that they mentioned her with links to various news articles. What happened while she was on her broadcast? Why didn’t anyone tell her about it? Wait, was that why her manager looked flustered before? “Oppa, did something happen to Taeyeon?”   “Taeyeon?” Her manager glanced at her from the passenger side.   “Yes, Taeyeon; SNSD Taeyeon. Don’t hide anything this time.”   The manager gulped when he saw Sunny’s words were scathed with venom, even more when she glared at him. He couldn’t do anything but tell her everything. “She fell after her performance. Because she said her waist hurts and she can’t walk well, she was taken to the hospital immediately.”   Sunny widened her eyes in disbelieve. So the news was true, she thought, feeling a churn on her stomach.   Just before Sunny could say anything, the manager added. “But after receiving medical attention in the hospital and made sure that she is fine, they discharged her. She is on her way to Cheongdamdong as we speak.”   “Turn the car around. We’re going there.”   “Pardon?”   “I don’t have to repeat myself, Oppa. We’re going to the dorm.”   “But your filming-“   “I’ll contact the PD myself and let him know.”   The manager sighed. Sunny’s words were final, and there was nothing he could say to make her say otherwise, so he signaled the driver to follow her order as well.   Meanwhile, Sunny started looking for the videos of the accident. There were many fans there, and fancams were not hard to find. In one fancam, she saw TaeTiSeo in their red outfits, posing after their performance. They smiled and bowed before retreating to the backstage. However, on their way there, Seohyun stumbled on what looked like a stage hole, but she could safe herself from the fall, since the hole was not very deep.   Taeyeon wasn’t so lucky. She was the one walking in the front of the group when she was startled with a sudden hole and fell into it, didn’t have a chance to safe herself from the fall. Unlike in Seohyun case, the hole in which Taeyeon fell in was really deep, and Sunny couldn’t see her at all from the recorded video. The video then was slowed, showing the accident more clearly, and she could see that when Seohyun walked the stage was lowered, stumbling her in the process. Not long after, she saw Taeyeon walking and fell inside the stage hole. The stage crews immediately helped her, along with Tiffany and Seohyun who witnessed the mishap in front of their eyes.   As if what she watched was not enough, she then searched for official news regarding the accid
