Moonbin mindlessly stirred his hot chocolate continuously as his date rattled on nonsense.

“Oppa~ Stopping stirring your drink, otherwise it will go cold” his date held onto his hands as she sat at the opposite booth, getting her flirting game on.

He stared blankly at his drink, contemplating life and wishing to go back in time before making all of his stupid choices.

“Moonbin-oppa~, you have no idea how happy that we are doing this again, everyone told me that you wouldn’t. Even though there are still a bunch of guys ask me out, you are the only one I still want to be with – after all, you are my first. You remember? Ah it was so much fun!” she caressed his hands up to his forearms, but Moonbin only wondered what Minjee and Eunwoo were doing that very moment. Did they really go to the library? Are they really studying? Unintentional thoughts ran through his head. As he said before, he has no interest in dating her so why care about what relationship she has with Eunwoo?

“Oppa~, I think we’re a good team, don’t you agree?  When we combine classes last time we made it really far, let’s do it again!”

“No”

Her smile vanished but she still held on his hand tight, “wh-what?”

“You were such a pain, even now. Don’t you know how to stop talking?” his blank face turned into a sharp glare that it scared her.

“B-but… If I’m-- then why did you come?”

“To kill time, but it turns out that you’re killing me” the girl’s eyes glassed with tears, stilling holding strong, Moonbin flings her off him with not even the slightest care and leaves her stranded in the booth, humiliated as other students in the cafe laughed to themselves.

“Are you getting it?” Eunwoo glanced over to Minjee who was to focus to notice his voice. Her hand ran down the page as it filled up with working out. Boxing the answer, Minjee leaned back in her chair amazed that her brain knew so much so quickly and didn’t give up on her during that.

“Wow, your notes made it so much easier to memorise the formulas and structures” Eunwoo hid his smirk as he watched her still excited by her accomplishment and strangling acting out her thoughts destroying Moonbin.

“Should we end it here? If we stay longer you won’t have much time for your independent studying” Minjee quickly checked the time to see it’s past midnight, she quietly laughed embarrassed on how fast it all went and started packing away her work.

“Thank you again, Eunwoo. From your help I’ll definitely demolish Moonbin haha” Minjee randomly coughed from overly giggling making people around her shush at her,

“Your throat alright?”

“Yeah, it’s just a bit dry. I haven’t had water in a while so that’s probably why” Minjee rubbed her neck for the tickle to go away. Eunwoo felt worried that it could get worse but she looked like the type to take care of herself well so he only nodded.

When Minjee arrived home she continued to study until she completely passed out on her desk. Her body was stiff as a rock when she woke up that she regretted it instantly. She stashed a bunch of tissue in her pockets before exiting the house, after sleeping on her desk she had formed a cold.

“Aye how was it yesterday with Mihi? Did it get hot?” Moonbin rolled his eyes at MJ’s erted question as they entered the classroom. After all, what MJ asked is quite a casual question to Moonbin after every date he has. He also has his thoughts that there could possibly be more since they’ve hooked up in the past.

“It was fu-” he stopped at the sight of Minjee in her seat from ranting about the date, “-king good, the hottest girl in school, round two, why not?” Moonbin laughed with the guys as they sat in their seat. He glanced over to Minjee to see her reaction but she had her headphones in that were blocked by her hair for him to notice.

“Who knows, the next Kingka-Queenka couple could be official soon~” Rocky teased.

“ACHOO-” everyone’s heads turned scared, Minjee slowly lifts her head up with the tissued still covering her nose, “sorry” she lightly bows to everyone before they all continued their studying.

“Aw, does someone have the sniffles?” Moonbin pouted to Minjee who glared at his cocky attitude.

“My nose is suddenly acting up; do you think you could go outside for me? I think I’m allergic to you” a smirk printed on her face as Moonbin burned up. MJ laughed hysterically, not caring that he’s interrupting the others from studying.

The gap to the day of exams slowly closes and Minjee has not recovered from the flu. When she gets sick she tends to brush it off and let it pass on its own which last for a week or two but since she’s been studying for her exams non-stop her body has no break to recover.

It was the night before the exams and all the boys were home going through their last bit of studying. Moonbin headed to the library because he was less likely to fall asleep in a public space than at home. It was 12pm and the library was still packed with high school students. He walked over to the table were the group normally studies to see if it was empty, and to no surprise it wasn’t. All random students that don’t talk to each other at school sat at the same tables. Moonbin was about to continue to look for a seat but spotted a sleeping figure at the table, he was going to move her so he would have a table to study on. He moved her hair from her face and stopped.

“Minjee?” he was instantly shushed at because his inside voice was too loud. He tried nudging her awake but she was in a too deep of a sleep to budge. He placed the back of his hand on her forehead, he quickly flinches his hand back, it was too hot for a human to endure. Without hesitating or care about the others he carried Minjee on his back and both of their school bags strapped to the front of him.

Moonbin didn’t know where she lived so he carried her to his house that luckily wasn’t far from the library; his mum was already asleep in bed so he quietly snuck into the house and into his room, even though he carelessly dropped their bags to the ground that made a loud thud out of exhaustion.

He carefully laid Minjee on his bed while he quickly searched on his phone on how to heal a fever. He grabbed a pair of socks from his wardrobe and ran down the stairs to the kitchen.

Soon after, he ran back up with a bowl of ice water with two small towels soaking in it and the socks damp with lukewarm water. He placed them all on the bedside table before taking off Minjee’s shoes and socks. He took the wet socks and gently slipped them on then a dry pair on top. Minjee moved her head ever so slightly by the sudden change of comfort at her feet. From what Moonbin read online it circulates the blood as your body is defending from it… or something like that, he just looked at the first thing in panic hoping it works.

He opened up his bed sheets and let Minjee sleep there in peace while he stayed up to keep the towels cold while he rested one on her forehead and another he used to dab it on her arms and face.

“Moonbin are you back ho-” his mum went to check up on his after hearing a bunch of noises which was the bags and his running.

“H-hi Omma” he awkwardly greeted as his mum looked down to Minjee in his bed and back to him. “Uh she’s sick and I don’t know where she lives and before you get any funny ideas because I know you will but this has and will be PG-13” his mum continues to looks back and forth of the two with still no comment.

“I’ll go and make some soup” Moonbin nodded as his mum left, he let out a sigh of relief that she didn’t the wrong idea and looked over to Minjee letting out a light chuckle.

He gazed after realising her precious sleeping face; she really did look like an Angel. He her hair away from her face and lost focus as he continued to caress her hair.

An hour past and Moonbin fell asleep with his arm supporting him on the bed and the damp towel still held in his hand.

Minjee slowly gained consciousness again and opened her eyes. The different environment didn’t occur to her, not even sleeping Moonbin brought her too shock.

“Moonbin?” he quickly woken up to the sound of his name, they stared at each other longingly until Moonbin opened his mouth,

“Idiot” he couldn’t help but to chuckle, “sit up a bit, my Omma made some soup for you, the less you could do is eat some” Minjee silently did as she was told, as she knew that she was in the wrong.

Moonbin removed the cover that kept the soup hot off and did a quick taste test if it was warm enough for Minjee before feeding it to her. Moonbin held in his laughter every time he spoon-fed her that he let out light chuckles.

“Shut up” she pouted, embarrassed by the situation.

“No”

They stare into one’s eyes. Nothing could satisfy the silence as dawn was near.

The day of the exams were here, Minjee felt more alive than the past days combined together, after resting and Moonbin’s mum’s soup she was ready to face the exams.
