The rest of the evening went unexpectedly well ,with the exception of a few teasing remarks made by jinjoo aimed for Junghwan.

 Junghwan knew that since jinjoo know knows of him and Hana it wouldn't be long before everyone else finds out. Even though the families had moved out of their original homes,they still kept in touch,especially since most of the families were connected to each other in someway or the other.

He was right,when he got home after dropping Hana , sunwooand bora  were waiting for him.

 "what?" asked Junghwan noting the stares aimed at him

"when were you planing on telling us?" asked sunwoo

"telling you what?" asked Junghwan,though he fully knew what he was referring to.

"don't act so innocent,I heard you're dating Hana" said sunwoo

"Bora knew" stated Junghwan

Bora gave him a stern glare "WHAT? Bora ? you knew,how could you not tell me?" asked sunwoo feeling deceived

"Ya,sunwoo,you know fully well how it feels to be in a secret relationship,I'm sure they had there reasons,just like we did" answered Bora

"who told you? jinjoo?" asked Junghwan

"yes"

"aren't you curious how she knows" asked Junghwan,hoping to expose Jinjoo too

Sunwoo fell silent,after hearing the shocking news he had forgotten to ask such an important question.

Before sunwoo got find an answer the phone rang,Bora picked it up "yes ahjumma he's here"

she said passing the phone to Junghwan

"YA,KIM JUNGHWAN,HOW DARE YOU NOT TELL ME,I HAD TO FIND OUT FROM MY FRIENDS ABOUT YOUR RELATIONSHIP" screamed his mother from the phone

"omma,I was going to bring her over soon" said Junghwan trying to pacify his mom.

"so how long have been dating? how old is she? Dongryong told me she's even prettier than Deoksun" said his mother.

"When did you have time to contact Dongryong?" asked Junghwan shocked and confused

"I had first called the house to know what time you were going for Deoksun and Taek's wedding,but sunwoo told me of your little secret,and since I wanted to know more,I called up Dongryong,turns out Dongryong knew about it and had even met her" continued his mother

He remembered that next weekend was Deoksun-Taek's wedding,but for the first time in almost ten years,he didn't feel sad or upset,or even regret,he felt excited and happy for them

"don't forget to bring Hana with you,I have to meet my future daughter in law "she said joyfully

"don't get too excited" he said cutting the call

future daughter in law?His mother hadn't even met the girl. But she couldn't really be blamed either,after all Hana is Junghwan's first and only girlfriend .His mother was still unaware of his huge crush on Deoksun during their teen years. 

The next evening,a few minutes after Hana had returned from school,she heard a knock on the door,she went to open it,expecting Junghwan. She was surprised to see Deoksun standing outside,she invited her inside.

"so would you like something to drink,coffee?" asked Hana

"no,no,I have to get going,I came to give you this" she said handing over a card

"oh,your wedding card,thank you,you could have just mailed it" she said looking at the card

"I know,but I was in the neighbourhood and thought that I should visit" said deoksun smiling

"Are you nervous?" asked Hana

"no,not really.We've been dating for a long time and we've known each other most of our lives,I think I've never been so sure of anything before" said Deoksun smiling

"oh well congrats unni" said Hana giving her a wide smile

"unni? son't be so formal,just call me Deoksun,it makes me feel younger" said Deoksun laughing

"Sit next to Junghwan,I'm sure he'll be happy to see you there"said deoksun

"we've all been waiting to see if he's ever date,most of us thought he was gong to stay single forever,but I'm glad he has you"she continued

"oh,how did you know" asked Hana

"well jin joo is my future sister in law" said Deoksun grinning

"oh yes,I forgot" 

"But don't think I'm inviting you because of Junghwan,I truly want you there,I consider you a good friend" said deoksun

Hana had no response but she was very happy to hear those few kind words from Deoksun

"plus,I'm sure everyone is excited to meet you" she continued.

After Deoksun left Hana ,as usual started panicking . Junghwan's parents ,his brother and his brother's wife were going too be there,what if they didn't like her. What if no one else likes her there.

She decided to distract herself. She looked through her closet and tried to find a dress appropriate for a wedding. She gave up,she was not really considered the most fashionable one of her friends. her friends.....she suddenly remembered that she should just call one of her friends and ask.

"Yumi,I have nothing to wear.....help me" she said

"ya ok ,I'll come over,but wait for a while I have to finish the last delivery" she said 

Yumi was a childhood friend of Hana's.They basically grew up together. Yumi was a writer for a magazine ,and extremely fashionable ,Hana usually relied on Yumi for advice on what to wear for formal events and whatnot .

After about an hour Yumi came in and started to search through the wardrobe,asking queries about Junghwan once in a while. Yumi had known of Junghwan for a while now.After about an hour of trying on clothes they came to an agreement.

They chose a dark red dress which reached just above her knees ,There was a bit of lace at the top which perfectly complimented the flared skirt at the bottom.

"Junghwan's gonna go crazy when he sees you"said Yumi smiling proudly at her best friend

"No he won't"said Hana slightly blushing,secretly hoping that he'll like her in this dress.

"Okay,I've got to go now, I have to go and watch an interview" said Yumi irritated

"why?" asked Hana

"I want to be an interviewer ,doesn't it seem fun? meeting celebrities,finding out about their lives,find out what inspires them....and all that" answered Yumi.

"Didn't you want to be a fashion editor last week?" asked Hana,Yumi was very spontaneous changing her mind about her career was something she did nearly every week.

"wahh you don't sound like someone from the country anymore" said Hana 

"Ya! I've been living in the city since the age of 12,remember?" said yumi.

"country bumpkin" teased Hana

"you wanna die ! stop it " said Yumi, leaving the house

"fine,but don't forget to call me" screamed Hana after her

Since she was free,she decided to watch a drama . She made some snacks and lazily sat infront of the TV.

Hana did two things in her free time,read books or watch over dramatic TV shows. They provided an escape from the world that she lived in. She loved over the top rom-coms where the gorgeous girl would be swept off her feet by a dashing and attractive ma. And her favorite part,however was when a supporting character found love. She always loved the secondary couples more than the leads. There was always something more cute about them.

Maybe it was because deep inside Hana had always felt like a supporting character in her own life,maybe the reason she wanted the female lead's best friend to fall in love was because ,she identified with her.She always felt like a supporting character in someone else's life,and she was okay like that ,she was happy like that.

But when she was with Junghwan,it was different . She didn't know how,or why. She just knew that when she looked into his eyes,and he was looking at her,she didn't feel like she was an extra in someone else's life she felt like the lead. 

That was the reason why she admitted to Junghwan that she liked him.Hana had never confessed her feelings to anyone before ,the reason was because she always felt like she'd be in their obstacle to finding love with someone else. She'd rather be an extra who helped someone,than be a negative character who pulled people apart. 

With Junghwan,she felt like if she didn't tell him how she felt she'd actually regret it.

She was tempted to call Junghwan and hang out,but she knew that he'd be busy,as he was also helping with the wedding.During the next week,like she expected Junghwan was very busy,he did come to take her out for dinner every alternate day

 ( Bora and sunwoo were too lovey-dovey these days,and Junghwan often felt awkward most of the time during dinner,so he tried his hardest to escape,so taking Hana out was a total win-win situation for him)

The week passed by very fast,and Dongryong repeatedly told him that his holiday was soon going to end,and that he should inform Hana,but Junghwan kept putting it off.He didn't want to upset her right then,so he decided to tell her after the wedding.

The wedding finally arrived,It was a bright and sunny day,perfect weather for a wedding. Junghwan had to leave early to help with the preparations. Since,he was on holiday for the last week,he had no choice but to assist in the wedding.Since ,it was the wedding of his two best friends,he was happy to help. Of course Hana gave him a pitiful look every time he talked about the wedding,and held his hand. He had completely moved on ,and was pretty happy for both of them,but Hana still felt that she needed to comfort him. Junghwan didn't mind, since that meant that every time he met Hana she'd give him a comforting hug. soon Junghwan's day felt incomplete if he didn't see her.

So on the wedding day,Junghwan had reached early along with sunwoo and Bora. Sunwoo was hosting the wedding. Hana was at their house with Yoona,Junghwan would pick both of them up when the wedding was about to start.

Hana first started by picking out yoona's dress and combing her hair.

"wow,my yoona is so pretty"she said fixing Yoona's hair

"wow,Hana unni is pretty" said Yoona touching Hana's hair.

Hana laughed "so can you wait for me,while I get dressed,Jungpa should be here soon"  

"okay" said Hana sitting on the couch with a coloring book

"don't get any colors on your dress" said Hana going in

"I won't" replied Yoona

While Hana went to change,the bell rang and,and yoona opened the door.

"jungpa!" she yelled clinging on to him

he picked her up and looked inside hoping to find her.

"where's your Hana unni?" he asked

"she's getting dressed" said Hana

"oh okay" he said,and they resumed coloring

after about five minutes Hana opened the door and walked into the hall

"oh Jungpa? I didn't know you were here"she said surprised

"how many times have I told you to call me Junghwan" he grumbled

he looked up to scold her for being late,but not one word left his mouth. He was surprised in a good way,she looked absolutely gorgeous .His expression gave Hana satisfaction.

"jungpa,why aren't you saying anything" asked yoona to Junghwan who was staring at Hana with his mouth slightly open.

Hana giggled

"so shall we go?" she asked

Junghwan gave a startled look,as if he had just woken up and started walking outside

"let's go ,we're already late" said Junghwan snapping back to his former self

As they walked to the car ,Junghwan couldn't help but stare at Hana when she wasn't looking. On the way to the wedding hall yoona kept them all entertained by singing songs.

Bora was waiting outside the hall. So Yoona ran to her,Bora gave them a smile and nod, and went in.

As they walked in hana linked her arm with Junghwan's and he smiled at her as they went in.,Taek was not yet at the standing at the altar,but all of their families were patiently sitting inside.As they walked in they could see that all the eyes were on them. Their seats were next to Junghwan's parents,so as they walked there,he could see his mom open in wonder and shock.

Infact,the rest of the neighborhood families were staring at the good looking couple.Dongryong was also there with his girlfriend,he gave a small wave to Junghwan and  Hana. After they sat down,Junghwan's mom leaned toward Hana,giving her a smile.

"are you Hana?" she asked 

"Yes, I am Mrs.Kim" said Hana with a formal tone

"oh,just call me ommoni " she said smiling

Junghwan gave his mother a glare,this was the first time she was Hana,and she was already her daughter -in-law.

Hana just blushed

after that the rest of Junghwan's family introduced themselves,including man-ok,who was now jung bong's wife.

By the time all the intoductions were done,Taek had already walked in.

Everyone waited with bated breaths for the bride to arrive. The music started playing and Deoksun walked down the aisle, wearing a beautiful strapless white gown . Taek looked at her with pride,as everyone else admired the beautiful bride. Hana held Junghwan's hand . And Junghwan looked at her. He almost chuckled looking at her concerned face,but he didn't say anything and went back to looking at Taek and Deoksun

For a tiny moment he felt regret. Maybe he could've been the one standing there ,he could've married Deoksun and lived happily with her. For that one moment he felt like turning back time,and confessing to Deoksun.

 But that moment passed. And the next moment he was looking at Hana who was holding his hand and staring at the altar,with a happy expression. He decided that he wanted to hold Hana's hand for this moment and the next and every moment to come.

After the ceremony was over,they were taking pictures together. Hana just awkwardly hid in a corner because she didn't know what to do. Dongryong' girlfriend Hye rim found her.

"my name's Hye rim, what's yours? she asked

"Hana" she answered

"so you came here with Junghwan right?" asked the young woman

"yes,wow news travels fast" stated Hana

"yep,Dongryong had told me about you guys" Hye rim continued

"so how long have you been dating Dongryong?" asked Hana

"oh ,for about five years now" she answered

They continued talking till Dongryong interrupted them.

He too them to the rest of the group to take pictures.Hana stood next to Junghwan,and smiled brightly.

Afterwards Junghwan's mom started talking with her. Asking her many questions. By the end of the conversation Junghwan's mom was pretty impressed with Hana.She made sure to get Hana to sit next to her during the reception.Junghwan's father also enjoyed talking to Hana. At one point Deoksun got prepared to throw the boquet,and it was caught by Hye rim. Dongryong got a nudge from Junghwan,asking him when he was going to marry Hye rim.

junghwan walked over to Hana who was still conversing with Junghwan's mother,who really loved having Hana around

".....so if you marry Junghwan,you both can get a house next to his base and you'll get to be with him every day"she said

"omma! stop it" said Junghwan embarassed.

He took Hana away from his mom for a while

"she isn't usually like this,in fact she's usually pretty tough and hard to talk to" he said as they walked

"really? does that mean she likes me?" asked Hana happily,grabbing Junghwan's hand

"I think she does" answered Junghwan

Hana smiled at him, A second later Bora came and pulled Hana away and took her away.

Junghwan grumbled that he hardly had any time with Hana that day,all Hana could do was give him an apologetic look.

Bora took her to jinjoo and sunwoo's mother.

"so your hyun woo's sister" she asked

"yes,I am"she replied

"she's also dating Junghwan oppa" said jinjoo trying to change the topic. Her parents had found out Hyun woo,after she leaked the information about last week's dinner. The insisted on meeting Hyun woo,and her mother really liked him,even claiming that he was very similar to Taek.

"it's about time that boy dated" said Deoksun's mother .Little did she knew ,thought Hana.

Hana was also introduced to all the fathers,it amazed Hana how the families were still so close,and she wished she had a few more childhood friends .  By the time Hana had met everyone,she'd almost forgotten to congratulate the newly- weds.

She went over to Taek and Deoksun who looked very happy staring into each other's eyes.

"congrats both of you" she said to the loved up couple

"thank you Hana" said Deoksun

"You look beautiful today unni" she said truthfully

"well a bride has to look good doesn't she" Deoksun joked

Hana was truly happy for them and only hoped that someday she could walk down the aisle and marry someone who she loved

Soon it was time for her to go home,and Junghwan offered to drop her home. On the way home,there was a silence.

"I'm leaving " said Junghwan breaking the silence

"huh? where" asked Hana confused

"I have to go to a different military base for a year" he said

"oh,that's okay,you can visit on weekends right? " she asked hopefully

"I only have a few days off  next year" he answered

"when will you leave?"

"in 3 weeks" he continued,waiting for her response. 

Hana looked at him with anger and sadness

"you idiot ,why didn't you tell me sooner" she asked

"I was waiting for the right time"

The silence returned,Hana was trying to not cry

When they finally reached,Junghwan had no choice but to be the one to talk

"what do expect me to do? " he asked

"I don't know! I just don't know" she said running out of the car and into her house

Junghwan drove away angrily. He got home and shut himself in his room.

A few hours later sunwoo came in with some beer

"so you finally told her huh?" he asked

Junghwan didn't answer

"Don't worry give her some time,she must just be shocked" he said

"What if she breaks up with me?" asked Junghwan

"Then you'll  have to accept it and move on,or you can wait for her to change her mind,like I did to Bora" said sunwoo with a knowing smile.

Yoona called Yumi over for a sleepover and told her everything. They took out some ice cream and put on a cheesy rom com and started talking.

"are you stupid? it's only for a year, It's a small price to pay for love" said yumi

"What if he loses interest in me ,or finds someone else?" asked Hana

"stop being so paranoid,at this rate you'll ruin your relationship. And it's like you didn't know he'd have to leave eventually,I mean he's in the air force,what did you expect" she asked

"I don't know" said Hana for the third time that day

"you should spend the time you have with him wisely" 

The next morning after Yumi left,the first thing hana did was rush over to Bora's house.Bora opened the door and told her that Junghwan had gone to his own apartment to get something and gave her the address.

Junghwan had told Hana that he had his own apartment house,even though sunwoo didn't let him stay there for his holidays.She took a taxi there,fidgeting nervously all the way there

Hana got there as soon as possible. She rang the doorbell,and after a few seconds Junghwan opened the door. His face had a pained expression,for which Hana felt guilty.They just stared at each other for a while before Hana gave him a hug. Junghwan leaned on her and rested his head on her shoulder.

She felt tears on her eyes,but didn't let hands leave him,she held on,more tighter than ever. 

"I love you" she said ,quietly ,gathering all her courage to do so.

there was a silence,and for a minute she wanted to take the words back.What if she'd just made things more awkward,maybe it was too soon,maybe.....

"I love you too" he replied cutting into her thoughts.

"umm...we should probably go inside,people are going to think its weird,when they see us hugging in the hallway" she said

Junghwan  didn't want to let go,so he lifted her up bridal style and carried her inside,and closed the door.

"YA? what are you doing?" she asked holding on ,scared to fall

"I'm sweeping you off your feet" he said chuckling

"oh my god Junghwan,that was so cheesy" she said

She ruffled his hair,and moved closer to him,until their lips met. Junghwan was a bit shocked at first,then closed his eyes and deepened the kiss

"but I like it" she pulled away and said. 

Junghwan irritated that she pulled away,sat on the couch with her on his lap and kissed her again.

"wow,I should have left sunwoo's house sooner" said Junghwan teasing Hana.

Hana blushed at the comment.

"I'm so hungry,lets go out and eat" said Hana changing the subject. junghwan locked the house and the walked outside hand in hand.

And even the people walking by them could see that they really loved each other.
