JIYONG'S POV

Sitting in the couch at the studio, my mind flashed back to my encounter with the woman at the Olympics Park. I could not help but laugh as I remembered her reaction when I removed my mask. Her eyes had widened and she had muttered something that sounded like, “Lord help me, I just met a celebrity.” Thankfully, she did not scream or I would have had to flee from there. She just kept staring at me and shaking her head, as if trying to clear away some thoughts. Suddenly, she grabbed the little boy’s hand, bowed to me at ninety-degree angle (Why would she do a ninety-degree bow!!? It freaked me out!) and walked away hurriedly. It was so ridiculously cute that even now - a week later - I could not help but chuckle at the memory.

“AHHHHHHHH!!!” someone suddenly screamed in my ear and suddenly, I found myself on the floor.

“DID YOU SEE THAT? DID YOU HEAR THAT? HYUNG JUST CHUCKLED. DID I HEAR A CHUCKLE?”

“Shut up, Seungri,” I muttered as I hauled my back on the couch. I glared at him as fiercely as I could.

“Hyung, your glares don’t scare me anymore, you know that right? I’m not a rookie anymore. I’m the world-famous Seungri now.”

“Oh man, why is he so embarrassing…” Youngbae’s voice came from somewhere near the door.

Looking towards the door, I saw the rest of the members standing and looking exasperatedly, but lovingly, at Seungri. Only our maknae could make us feel that way.

“Hyung, why were you chuckling? Is it some woman? Is she going to threaten our Nyongtory ship??? ANDWAEEEE!!” Seungri screamed again.

“Oh, stop being so dramatic and shut up,” came Seunghyun hyung’s deep voice, as he strode inside the room and plopped down beside me on the couch.

Daesung, heading towards the recording booth, said warily,“Really hyung, who are you asking to shut up? The sun may collapse into itself, but this guy will never shut up. Ohhhh, I like that… ‘the sun may collapse into itself’...”

As I looked at my members, I could not help but feel pride surging through me. We have been through so much, especially me and Taeyang, and still being in the recording studio together even after nine years since our debut is a feat and miracle in itself. Of course, each one of us has had to fight and struggle against our own problems but the very fact that we continue to stick together as a family, as brothers, makes me incredibly proud.

Youngbae, seeing my expression, said,“Uh oh, Jiyong has that mother-hen look in his eyes...3...2...1…”

“GUYSSSS, I LOVE YOUUUU!!!” I screamed.

“Hyaaaa~ how can you say those three words so easily? No wonder people call you a playboy,” Seunghyun hyung said, poking my shoulder.

I immediately sombered up. Images flashed across my mind, immediately accompanied by the blinding pain that had become so familiar to me. The other members sombered up immediately, recognizing the change in the atmosphere.  

I felt myself suffocating again.

That shadow had an iron grip around my throat. I did not feel the iron, though. Instead I felt this nauseating clogging -- I gasped for air, my heart ached, I could not move.

Faceless, shapeless, the shadow weighted down upon me, I tried to push back but it pressed and pressed until I could breathe no more.

Somewhere in the distance, the wolves cried. Music of the night, of death, of oblivion. I don’t want to be found. I have to run. I have to hide. The wolves are calling. I don’t want to go. Wake up.
