He could feel the storm raging within him - a whirlwind of emotions that he knew could destroy him if he let go of his defences even for a bit.
Why must I endure this?
Why can’t I forget?
These were questions that he had been grappling with for months, trying to find their answers but in vain. There had been times when he thought he had come close, so close, to finding the answers but they were always evading him. One of the cruel pranks that the universe loves to play.
As he sat on the bench in the Olympic Park, where he had escaped to avoid the sympathetic stares of his group members and pretty much everyone he knew, he wondered if happiness could ever be his. Or will he always find half-happiness, constantly slipping away from his grasp?
Little did he know that a small boy, who had been denied a balloon, would change his life forever.
