“East V team is sacred champions for the 2017 college soccer season.”

The whole stadium roared with screams of happiness.

“YEAH ! Go East V !” Kai Cheng yelled with his hands up in the air.

The last days of July marked the end of the season and they were all gathered in the East V stadium for the trophy ceremony. This year’s season had offered its fair share of surprises: East V which was third last year had won and East VI and East III were both out of the top 3. And as it often was, once there was only one East university that had a chance to win, everyone had gathered behind them.

“I told you they would win !” Kai Cheng shouted.

“Yes you did, we got it.” Yu Zhi rolled his eyes.

Hui who had exceptionally come to hang out with them laughed.

When Kun couldn’t help but look at Winwin while applauding.

“So how did the disciplinary committee go ?” Kun asked anxiously when Winwin came to his place hours later.

“Kyle and I are both suspended this season. But we’re allowed to join back when the next college year starts.” Winwin explained calmly.

Kun sighed. “Are you sad that you won’t play with your team ?”

“It was my fault for fighting and injuring Kyle.” The other shrugged. “It’s normal I take responsibility for it and face the consequences.”

Kun nodded slowly. “Yeah…”

“My father came to the committee with me... and we talked.”

Winwin looked serene.

“It was hard but he accepted my wish to not turn pro for now.”

A small smile on his face.

“So I’ll continue college soccer and finish my studies.”

He turned his head, his soft eyes crossing Kun’s contemplative gaze.

“And maybe I’ll turn pro, maybe not. Who knows ?”

Winwin smiled at him and took his hand. A genuine happy smile.

“But it will be my choice.”

Kun smiled back and pressed his hand softly.

Winwin mouthed a “I love you” and Kun’s smile widened even more.

They arrived at the club East V had booked for the season’s ending party. The music was loud and the huge place was already filled with people. Colored flashlights blinded them a little and Kun held on Winwin’s hand with a bit more strength not to lose him in the crowd.

“Let’s go dance !” Kai Cheng yelled and dragged Hui with him to the dance floor.

Yu Zhi shook his head in disbelief but followed them nonetheless.

“Winwin !”

The couple looked in the direction of the voice: it was his teammate Minghao who was coming over to them.

“Hey !” He high fived Winwin happily. “You guys come sit with us ! We got a table at the back.”

Winwin looked at Kun who nodded. “Sure !”

They followed him through the crowd and greeted some of Winwin’s teammates who were also sitting there.

“Wow, they know how to party in East V !” Wenhan said over the loud music.

“Yeah !” Yixuan who was beside him replied shortly while looking at his glass.

“So Winwin, aren’t your legs in marshmallow now that you haven’t played for two months ?” Minghao laughed.

Kun chuckled.

“You wish !” Winwin faked indignation. “I was suspended from the matches, not from training.”

“That’s perfect ! So you’ll be ready for next year.” Casper smirked.

“Basically yes, I’m not going anywhere, you’re gonna have to bear with me until you graduate.” Winwin snickered.

Casper lightly slapped his arm. “Wow, that’s all I’ve ever wished for !”

“You wouldn’t have gone anywhere anyway.” Minghao snorted.

Winwin cocked his eyebrow. “You think so ?”

“Of course !” Minghao answered. “You can’t live without us !”

The others burst out laughing. Kun tried to hold it in but the astonished look Winwin gave to Minghao was hilarious to see.

“Kun !”

He turned around to see Hui running over to him.

“Please, we’re basically family.” The boy stopped, panting and his blond hair disheveled by the run. “Save me from him !”

“Save you…?”

“Hui !” Kai Cheng arrived out of nowhere and held him by the waist, trying to bring him back. “Hui please, come on and dance !”

“Is he drunk ?” Kun gasped.

“Yes !” Hui cried out.

When Kai Cheng finally managed to drag him back to the dance floor, the blond boy grabbed Kun’s hand, bringing him with them.

“Winwin !”

And his boyfriend followed, snickering.

“Ah ! Here you are !” Yu Zhi shouted over the loud music. “I thought you would leave me alone to handle those two !”

The place was hot and packed. They danced, they drank and they laughed.

Kun couldn’t help but stare at his boyfriend while they were pressed against one another, in the middle of the dancing crowd. He looked so handsome, so beautiful, so happy.

Winwin glanced over to him and caught him staring. He smiled at him while holding him closer. Kun could feel his face heating up even more if it was possible.

“How about we have a break ?” Winwin shouted in his ear over the music.

Kun nodded and went back to the sidelines, the other following him. They sat down in another room of the club further from the dance floor, where the music wasn’t as loud and the temperature bearable.

“I’m gonna get some water.” Winwin kissed Kun’s fo
