Cold Beautiful Things“You were right about him being scary,” Hyeran was telling Hongbin as they ate lunch together. “I’m not saying he’s a murderer but I don’t think I’d be surprised. I mean he’s out-of-this-world handsome but he sends chills down my spine and he barely opens his mouth.” Hongbin watched as Hyeran shifted the food on her plate around with her chopsticks. He frowned, knowing that Hyeran’s appetite suffered when she was in distress.
“What’s wrong?” he asked.
“Nothing,” Hyeran lied coolly. Hongbin gave her a look as if to say ‘don’t try and fool me’, and Hyeran dropped her cutlery, sighing.
“I’m just a bit concerned. I don’t think it’s likely Taekwoon-ssi killed Dongbyun-ssi since his violent nature seems to come out impulsively, whereas this murder was so obviously premeditated but what if I’m wrong and I just let this guy go free?”
“I don’t know. But I do know that whether or not he is guilty you need to eat,” Hongbin replied, picking up the chopsticks that Hyeran had laid down and using them to bring the food up to her face.
“I’m not hungry,” Hyeran refused.
“That’s why I’m forcing you to eat,” Hongbin warned before he nudged a piece of beef into her lips repeatedly unti she had to stop glaring at him and take the food into .
Hongbin felt both at ease and on edge at the same time. He was immensely relieved that Hyeran hadn’t left him feeling entirely stupid trying to feed her like some kind of lover. He grinned seeing her reluctantly che
