Chapter 4 - Light Reflex
Cold Beautiful ThingsWalking into Taekwoon’s cell was like stepping into the dark after being with Hongbin, whose brilliance shadowed everything else. Since he was only on remand they forwent the use of the visitation room so that they could talk privately. Hyeran didn’t think that she would get much out of the man otherwise.
“Taekwoon-ssi, hello.” Taekwoon nodded in response.
“Gayoon’s testament won’t be valid now that we’ve had her check up with a psychologist but we still have to wait for the trial in two weeks. Even so, are you really not giving an alibi?”

“Why?” came his tender voice. Hyeran looked perplexed by the question. Why? Why would she do her job? Why would she perform her task diligently?
