Ryeowook scowled at the small black chalkboard propped up on the counter. Kangin seemed to think he was being clever when he’d scribbled on it this morning, but Ryeowook wasn’t amused. He was under direct orders to leave it, though, so the best he could do was glare viciously at it and try not to be too embarrassed.

Because, of course, Kangin seemed to think it was his job to get Ryeowook a date, but in the most unorthodox way.

For Ryeowook, the end of the day couldn’t come fast enough.

The barista was rather hoping that the tall, black-haired man with glasses that always came in at two on the dot wouldn’t come in today, but the bells above the door twinkled happily right on schedule. The man, named Jongwoon, had been coming in at the same time every day for weeks, after all, so there was no reason for him to miss today. Ryeowook stared down at the cash register, listening to the man approach the counter.

“What can I get you today?” he asked quickly, keeping his eyes down, hoping that maybe, just maybe, Jongwoon wouldn’t notice the sign. When he didn’t get a response, he took a chance and briefly glanced up, only to see his secret crush eyeing the sign on the counter. Ryeowook nearly groaned.

A smile twitched at the corner of Jongwoon’s lips as his eyes slid over to the man behind the counter. “A small iced coffee with milk, please,” he said cheerfully.

“That’ll be three seventy-five,” Ryeowook mumbled, ringing up the order as quickly as he could, dying to head to the back and punch Kangin right in the gut.

Jongwoon handed him his credit card and Ryeowook passed him a receipt to sign before busying himself making the drink. A moment later, he slid the drink across the counter.

“Have a good day,” he said hastily, his eyes darting toward the door.

Jongwoon chuckled softly. “You too, Ryeowook. I’ll see you later,” he replied in that deep voice that sent stupid shivers down the younger man’s spine. Then, just like that, he was out the door and down the street, leaving Ryeowook alone in the shop and cursing Kangin.

It wasn’t until Jongwoon was far out of sight that Ryeowook grabbed the receipt, intending to put it in the drawer with the others, but something on the back caught his eye and he hesitated.
