Chapter 7: Step 4: Making you fall in love with me. (Part 1)

The playboy

The next day, Myungsoo woke up from the annoying sound of his phone. He was, actually, still worn out from the itinary Sungyeol made him go through yesterday so being woken up in such a barbaric way as his phone ringing really annoyed the hell out of him. And sure, he found out a lot about Sungyeol's personnality during the tiring game, like his cheating habits, his childish side, his stubborness, his dark side as well as his good side but he somehow wished Sungyeol wasn't so original as to make them run around town like they did yesterday. Sungyeol was actually quite a pack of everything all wrapped in one and that thought made him even more confuse. Pushing aside his thoughts for later, Myungsoo decided to sleep more and ignore whoever that was calling him (probably it was Dongwoo), unfortunately the persistent caller just wouldn't stop calling him which irritated further the teen. Why would anyone call him in such an ungodly hour? Did that person want to die or something? Myungsoo reached aggressively his phone and with a grubby tone, he asked

"What?"

"Omo, it's really your number. I thought i was calling a wrong number", the familiar voice of Sungyeol reached his ear. Forgetting instantly the conventionnel greeting, Myungsoo sits up from his bed and litteraly yells

"Ya, do you know what time it is?"

"Wow, why are you screaming so early in the morning?"

"It's exactly because it's so early in the morning that i'm screaming. Hyung, why on earth are you calling me? And where did you get my number?"

"I've got my sources. And hey, did you just call me Hyung? That's good, i see you're a good loser, anyway let's have some more fun today again, ok?"

Myungsoo laid back on his bed with an exasperate sigh from his older friend's antic, and with a soft expression, he had no idea he had, on his face, he answered

"Yeah, let's do that."

Unconsciously, Myungsoo actually enjoyed the attention he was getting from Sungyeol. It was at the same time annoying and refreshing. And he actually liked it. Was he going mad? Probably. But being him, he didn't linger much on the question and proceeded to change into his uniform now that he was awake. After a rather quick breakfast, Myungsoo kissed affectionately his mother on the cheek and was about to rush through the door when she said

"Wait Soo. Don't forget to get some groceries for today. I'll text you the list."

Myungsoo nodded half heartedly at the reminder and finally left for school.

The minute, he walked through the big doors of his school, he was immediately greeted by Sungyeol's killer bro hug which would've send him stumbling if he didn't have such a good balance with his body. Gee, how can this guy be so energetic in the morning? Was Dongwoo's hyperactiveness contagious?

"Did you sleep well?" He asked with a grin.

"I was, until someone woke me up", Myungso replied dryly as he made his way to his locker. Sungyeol let escape a giggle and said while trailing after him

"Sorry about that. I tend to get rather excited in the morning."

"You should get treatment then", Myungsoo said, earning a very familiar laugh that he didn't particularly wish to hear so early in the morning.

"I've tried to get him into one ever since i've met him, unfortunately he can be quite handful at time", The new comer who was none other than Woo hyun said. Sungyeol pouted adorably at the mean tease from his best friend then with a hand resting upon his chest, he said, faking to be offended

"Wow, i'm hurt Hyung. So i'm a burden to you now?"

Woo hyun smiled arrogantly and nodded at the question which only earned him an earful lecture and some playful beating from Sungyeol. Somehow, Myungsoo felt like he was being a third wheel. And being the first time he felt that way, he hoped it was the last time. Because seriuously, it didn't feel good at all. When he grabbed everything he needed for his classes for today, he closed his locker and walked nonchantly away from the two best friends. He had, yet, to do ten steps, when Sungyeol slung his arm around him and asked in a reproachful tone

"Ya, Where do you think you're going like that?"

"Where do you think i'm going Dr duh?" Myungsoo asked sarcastically. Sungyeol gave him a forced glare then dropping his arm from Myungsoo's shoulder, he remarked

"Gee, do you know how rude you are? Do i have to remind you that i'm older than you?"

Myungsoo ignored the boy's nonsense about age difference and proceeded to walk towards his class, ignoring yet again Sungyeol's proposition of them eating lunch together. He slid open the door of his classroom, and made his way to his seat, unaware of the gawking stare he received from his classmate upon hearing Sungyeol's, Mr perfect, suggestion of eating lunch with Mr bad boy, him. Dongwoo who was the only who had the courage to ask him what was going on, sat once again in front of his desk and asked with a frown

"Ya, what is the meaning of this?"

Myungsoo looked at him with a bored look and turning away, he asked

"What is the meaning of what?"

"Ya, seriously, you're really annoying me. Why did Sungyeol invite you to share a table with him at lunch?" Myungsoo only shrugged unfaze and said

"What do you want me to say? He's a weirdo."

A pretty cool weirdo, Myungsoo thought. When he realized what he just happen to think, he vigourously shake his head in hopes to put his ideas back in place, a gesture that somehow pulled a perplexe look from his best friend.

 - Ya, Soo, are you ok?

- Yeah, why?

- I don't know. You tell me.

Luckily, Myungsoo didn't have to say anything, for the teacher chose that particular awkward moment to walk into class ceasing on the way the noises made by the students. During the entire two hours session, Myungsoo couldn't really pull himself together. In fact, he was a complete wreck. He was sure he was in progress and could ask Sungyeol on a date but at the same time there was just something that kept him from doing so.

No way, he can't possibly be feeling sorry for the guy. Impossible. He had to do what he was asked for. No strings attach was his motto. So why was he shaken up now? This game was seriously getting way to personal and that wasn't good.

Like every lunch, Myungsoo made his way towards Sunggyu and his buddies table, feeling quite moody from his lack of capability, recently discovered with Sungyeol. As soon as he was seated, Hoya had to of course direct the conversation in what he was trying so hard to avoid. It was as if the entire world won't leave him alone to fix the problem.

"How are things going with you and you know who?"

"Why does it seem like everyone is interested in that? Can we talk about something else instead?" Myungsoo whined, finding it all together irritating to be the center of attention for that particular reason. Sungjong, who was facing him, looked suspiciously at him and asked with a slight frown on his perfect eyebrows

"Are you somehow... regretting it?" Myungsoo immediately pause his action in approaching the chopstick to his lips and looked up at his friends with clear disbelief. He couldn't believe that they could have so little faith in his ability. So in case, he did something wih Sungyeol, he was foreseen as weak? Myungsoo quickly erased whatever expression he had that very moment and concentrating back on his food, he pull himself together and said

"Don't be ridiculous. Why would i feel any remorse at all?"

"Then why are you taking so much time? You usually work faster than that", reproached Hoya in a disappointed tone.

"Yeah, what happened to the Myungsoo we know?" Sunggyu asked, irritating further Myungsoo. The said boy was about to retort dryly at his so called friends to cut it out when he was stopped  by a familiar voice, that he really didn't want to face, say

"Ya, didn't i say we were suppose to eat together?"

"Hyung, i never said i was going to eat with you", came the automatic honorific that instantly surprised those that occupy the table. However Myungsoo was way to engross in his talk with the newcomer to mind the confused looks he received. There was also another comer that kind of occupied him. Woo hyun, who came a little bit later after his bestfriend, set his tray (in a very natural way) on the table and continued as if he did this a hundreth of times already

"Myungsoo ah, you shoud be more attentive. If you want to be friends with Sungyeol the first ground rule is to always keep track of his moody behaviour."

"I know, but i seriously thought he was joking", Myungsoo retorted, moving unconciously aside to allow Sungyeol to sit next to him.

"Ya, you guys do realize that i'm right here, right?" Sungyeol complained with an annoyed tone. Unfortunately, Myungsoo and Woo hyun didn't seem to really care much if he was there or not, which only serve to annoy even more Sungyeol. Sungyeol must've finally realize there was other occupants of the table because he shyly smiled at them and extending politely his hand towards everyone, he said

"Oh sorry, we didn't mean to intrude. I'm Sungyeol Lee by the way and this is Woo hyun Nam."

"Nice to meet you, we are... " Started Sunggyu but he got interrupted by Sungyeol that politely said

"I know. Sunggyu hyung, Hoya hyung, Dongwoo hyung and Sungjong shi. You guys are like THE crowd that everyone wants to get along with."

Sunggyu brightly beams at the compliment and in a somewhat modest tone that were very unlike him, he said

"Oh really, i didn't think we were."

And just like that, Myungsoo was surprise to see how Sungyeol and Woo hyun had so easily been adopted by everyone. It made him feel even more uneasy in what he was doing to Sungyeol. But even so, he had to fulfill is mission. Even if Sungyeol was lovely with everyone, he was his prey. And that will certainly never change. Not even if Sungyeol made him feel comfortable, was he to surrender. He needed to get on with his plan before he really gets too attach to the other boy.

So while everyone else were talking actively about some gossip going around school, Myungsoo slowly leaned over Sungyeol and whispered casually

"Hey, my mom asked me to do some groceries for her. Do you want to tag along?"

"Sure why not", Sungyeol answered with a grin on his pale face unaware of the dark event that will follow. Or that the one that will most likely ruin half of his life is the one he was smiling sweetly at. In other word Kim Myungsoo. The same person that was seriously considering making his move during today's outing.

But somehow as soon as they were walking around town, fooling around and playing dumb, his resolution just suddenly disappeared. As if the thought that all these fun moments, these laughter would end scared him. Just when did he allow Sungyeol to have such an impact in him? What is going on with him? A couple of days ago if someone told him that he would actually enjoy hanging around a guy as bright as Sungyeol, he'll certainly beat the guy to the pulp. But here he was, a couple of days later, actually living the situation he never thought he'll want to live. He really felt like he was going crazy.

"Hey Myung, look at these gingerbreads, don't they look delicious?" Sungyeol said bringing him back to reality. Myungsoo, who was in a daze, looked at him for a couple of minutes confuse to what the older man just said  when he noticed the gingerbreads Sungyeol was waving in front of him. Realizing what Sungyeol was saying, he said

"Oh, yeah. They are."

"Ajuhma, i'll take two please", Sungyeol ordered politely with a charming smile. The woman behind the counter smiled sweetly (a sight of deja vu) at Sungyeol and with a polite but yet welcoming tone, she asked

"Which flavor would you like?"

Sungyeol looked a moment indecisive in his choice of gingerbread and after a questionable look he sent at Myungsoo that lasted for what felt like a eternity (in Myungsoo point of view at least), he turned back to the older lady and ended up paying one of each flavour which made Myngsoo even more amazed for the new discovery of Sungyeol's sweet teeth. Who would've thought that he had an obsession for sweets? Ok, Myungsoo already had his doubts when he gulped down 5 bars of chocolats without much trouble but now it was more than confirmed, considering half the thing they bought, along with the groceries her mother asked him to buy, were mainly Sungeol's junk food. It was really disconcerting to see how he's able to stay in shape with the amount of rubbish he eats.

When they walked out the bakery shop, Myungsoo had about, 5 plastic bags in both his hands. He was actually quite impress, he didn't stumble upon his own feet yet. Now more than ever, he actually wished he accepted his mother's offer to teach him how to drive. Life would've been so much easier if he did. He was struggling in balancing all the plastic on his hands when Sungyeol surprised him once again. Even though he was already loaded with his own plastic bags, Sungyeol still grab half of the plastic bags Myungsoo was holding (Yes, 5 more of Myungsoo's plastic bags) and asked

"We're taking a cab, or do you still need to buy some more things?"

Even though Myungsoo understood Sungyeol's good intention by ridding him from some of his burden, he still wanted to remind him that he was also guy. So that meant that he was totally capable to hold whatever darn heavy thing he had to hold, but quickly, he gave up the thought in grounding and said instead

"We're done. Do you... perhaps want to come at my house? You know so i can offer you something to drink to repay you for your help or something or you'll rather go home. If that's the case, i'll pay..."

"Sure", Sungyeol interrupted Myungsoo's sudden blabbering. The confused boy looked at him in a funny way and asked not sure what Sungyeol accepted.

"Sure what?"

"Sure, i'd like a drink. If you're still on of course."

"Of course. I offered anyway", Myungsoo answered, looking forward in search of a cab as well as avoiding at all cost Sungyeol's cheeky smile. Fortunately either the other boy was a great actor or he didn't notice the sudden change of atmosphere between them. It wasn't particularly an uncomfortable atmosphere but not a good one either. Either ways, Myungsoo was sure of one thing. Today's the day he'll work out his charms. Or at least he hoped for.
