Chapter 5. 

Jessica drove off to the largest grocery store in town hoping to get some piece of mind. 


Jessica picks out things from her grocery lists. In each item she checks the label carefully for unhealthy ingredients.


“This is what happens when you are best friends with a health freak like Kwon Yuri,” Jessica thought out loud. 


Jessica placed the items on her cart. It was in order so that there will be a lot space for fruits and vegetables. 


Jessica picked out the apples from the shelf, examining it one by one for any sign of damage. 


However, she avoided the apples with bright red in color. 





 

“Why don’t you like the red apples Jessi?” Tiffany said.


“Because I don’t like apples with that bright red color,” Jessica replied.


“Uhh, that doesn’t answer my question you know,” Tiffany pouted.


“Red apples remind me of snow white and those are poison apples.”


“Oww you’re so childish Jessi….”
 

Jessica immediately shook of these thoughts that intruded her mind. 



Everything kept reminding her of the person she loved, loves and will love forever. 


Everywhere she turns she can see the image of them having the most wonderful time with each other’s presence. 


Jessica can never forget those beautiful memories and that’s one of the reasons why she’s hurting herself to death. 


She was browsing random items from the vegetable section already.


Being distracted in her thoughts she didn’t realize she was holding a cucumber in one hand. 


By impulse she threw it up in the air and quickly pushed her cart almost running from those hideous green monsters. 


Jessica closed her eyes, ran as quick as she can, pushing her cart along and then…………






“Ooooouuuuccchhhh!!!! Watch where you’re going,” shouted the person.



Jessica opened her eyes and realized she bumped her cart onto someone. 


The girl was grabbing her ankle and wincing in pain.


Jessica studied the person... she went over to her to offer some help. 


“Miss, are you okay?” Jessica said as she gingerly placed her hand on the girl’s shoulder.


The girl immediately looked up upon hearing Jessica’s voice in recognition.


“Jessica?” Tiffany met Jessica’s concerned eyes. 


“….. Ti—Tiffany?”


Jessica’s mouth hung open, seeing the girl. 


It took her sometime to realize the situation. 


Tiffany knowing better that Jessica will have late reaction, she just smiled at her and bowed slightly.


She walked away limping her left leg. 


Jessica regained herself and saw that Tiffany was limping. 


“She must be badly hurt, it’s my fault..” Jessica thought, “great Jessica, look what you did to the one you love, you hurt her again like last time,” Jessica cursed herself silently. 


“Should I help her?” Jessica hesitates, “but she doesn’t…. argghhh,” she cursed herself once more before running to the limping Tiffany not too far away. 


Jessica eventually left her cart and assisted Tiffany. 


Jessica ran to Tiffany’s side taking her left arm and placed it around her shoulder. 


“I should bring you to the hospital or any clinic.“ 


“Jessica-sshi, Im okay. No need to go to—“


‘You’re not okay, I wasn’t looking where I was going that’s why it’s my fault.”


Tiffany knows Jessica’s pride and if she insisted, it must be done. 


That’s the kind of superiority Jessica has on her Tiffany. ^^

Tiffany’s house.


Jessica assisted Tiffany and sited her on the couch. 


“Would you like me to get you a drink Jessica?” 


“No Tiffany, Im good. You should rest now, would you like me to assist you to your room?” Jessica kindly offered. 


As much as Tiffany was tempted to take that offer she knew it was still too soon for everything to go back to the way it was before. 


“But you are in my house Jessiii, I should at least be hospitable,” Tiffany said. “Why do I keep using her nickname, I shouldn’t be too obvious.. not right now.


Not yet.” Tiffany thought while waiting for Jessica’s reply. But there came none.


Jessica was just looking around the big mansion with her curious eyes. “looks like nothing changed that much, except for the new widescreen LED tv,” Jessica thought. 


“Well if you won’t be needing anything Tiffany, I will be on my way now. Sorry again and thank you,” Jessica said turning her back and grabbing the door knob.


“How about a coffee caramel, Jessica?” she knew that did the trick.


Jessica stopped at the moment and turned around. 


“Pardon me?” Jessica said slightly smiling.


“Or perhaps a glass of cold milk?” Tiffany said in a teasing tone. 


Jessica’s smile grew wider showing off her cute dimples that are hardly visible at all. 


“A cup of coffee caramel won’t be so bad I guess,” Jessica said as she glanced at her watch. 3:45 pm.


I guess it won’t hurt if I stay a little while; I do miss her after all. 


Jessica sat on the expensive looking sofa. 


She pulled some magazine from under the table shelf when something fell on the floor. 


It looked like a pink book. 


With much curiosity she picked it up and took it rather than the magazine she intended to read. 


She lifted up the front cover then Tiffany came. 


Jessica assisted Tiffany to the sofa…




“Here you go Jessica, one coffee caramel with honey.”


“Honey?” Jessica sounded as if she was calling Tiffany, honey.


Tiffany smiled on the inside.


There was an awkward silence between the two as they share a cup of coffee.


“Uhm, how’s your cousin Yoona?” Jessica blurted out but reminded herself, “you do remember Yoona right?” 


“Oh Yoona is doing fine, she is your class mate right Jessica?” Tiffany’s heart sank at Jessica’s question ‘you do remember Yoona right?’ 


Tiffany just pretended not to know and went along with what Jessica thought all this time. 


Jessica was caught off guard. She scoffed. 


Yoona was in the same class as Jessica and Yuri. They are in 2nd year where Tiffany should be in the same year but she was back to being a freshman. 


“I know she’s in our class, I-I just never talked to her that much,” Jessica raised that question without thinking properly. 


Yoona was her classmate so Tiffany should be the one to ask how her cousin is doing. 


Tiffany and Jessica exchange short glances at each other from time to time then looks away. 


They both sensed the growing tension between them. Either one has a lot to say and to ask but silenced by the doubts in their hearts. 


“…..”


“uhm.. I think I should go now so you can take a rest Tiff,” Jessica placed her cup on the table and waved Tiffany goodbye.
