3 AM THOUGHTS"What is it like?"
"It is like sky diving, everything is rushed and you find yourself falling face down so fast you're screaming. It's scary but you're enjoying it so much you don't want it to end. Like shooting stars where you would wish on, and burning fires you would desperately make use of before it would fade away."
"How long would it last?"
"7 days, maybe weeks. If you're lucky, months. You would kiss, poison each other with sweet words, maybe do a little bit less or a little bit more."
"Why would it end then?"
"One day one of you won't say hi anymore. The convo's become shorter, the goodmorning texts would no longer greet you and your day would end with you sleeping without hearing a word from the person. Usually it's because one of you gets bored. But maybe it's because they get busy, so busy that they forget one day to even text you. Then they forget the next. Then the next. Then this goes one until one day, even if you do think of the person, the distance between you is too far away to go back. And if you're lucky, you're the one bored. You're the one who forgets."
"Doesn't it hurt? To be forgotten? To be the one waiting?"
"Yeah. If you grow attached."
"So were you?"
"I was never lucky."
