most of her friends know her as someone who is very loyal and honest. she will never betray the people she loves and she will stay with them through their best of times and their worst of times. she's very protective of the people she loves and is always there when they need a shoulder to cry on or someone to rant to. on top of that, haerin is a very very bad liar and is usually as honest and transparent as possible. she finds it hard to come up with a lie, even if telling a white lie would help her escape any sort of punishment or consequence. feelings of guilt and remorse will affect her greatly if she's forced to lie and it's easy to tell from her tone when she's not being truthful.

if haerin had to choose her worst flaw, it'd be that she's too pessimistic. she's too careful about the way she views life and it's extremely rare to find her doing something on impulse or just for the fun of it. she cares too much about what others perceive her as and the consequences of her actions. everything she does is calculated — the pros and cons are laid out in a list on her notepad before she approaches anything. she appreciates things that have a fixed set of guidelines with no room for doubt or uncertainty. if anything seems like it'd be too dangerous or risky and it doesn't have any backup plan, there's a high chance that haerin would not get herself involved in that. it's in her nature to anticipate failure but, if something seems doable and practical, haerin will give it her best.

- her father is a professional choreographer so he sent her to one of the best dance academies in the city. instead of hating it, she actually enjoyed it a lot because she felt like she was a different person. someone more confident and happier about herself.
- growing up, her father was very critical about her. he had high expectations of his daughter: both in terms of her academics and her dancing skills. when he was disappointed in her, it was very evident in his face and tone. most of her childhood years was spent trying to please him and make him proud of her.
- she had auditioned for sm and jyp when she was young but was rejected by them. to encourage her passion, her parents told her to try for a smaller, but well known company so she decided to try to mbk entertainment that had t-ara, davichi and other big names at that time. she was pleasantly surprised that they had accepted her and continued her training with them for the next three years.
lifestyle
- she's currently not doing anything very... beneficial for her career. sure, she's uploading short, self-composed songs to her soundcloud and making covers on her youtube channel but she isn't looking to sign with another company. she trained her whole childhood to debut and for it to be taken away from her hurt.

- she currently goes to 1 million dance studio very often to go for their classes and also to pratice her dancing.
- she's staying in her own apartment in seoul that she bought once she moved out of the company's dorm. she's been there for almost one and a half years now. it was slightly exhausting for her to stay around 5 other people for years and needed to find her own sense of freedom. still, the apartment did have a room for her if she wanted to stay during comeback season and she usually chooses to go back there if it's more convenient for her.

trainee experience
- she saw a lot of older trainees debuting and always wondered when it would be her turn. the company always told her that it's because she was she was still young and had more training to do because she could debut.
- when she turned 16, she decided to end her contract with mbk as she saw no potential in ever getting chosen. the management clearly had favourites and she wasn't one of them. sure, she had made some friends in mbk but she didn't think she would have progressed anywhere with her dream of becoming an idol with mbk.
- against her parents judgement, she auditioned for sunrise entertainment. she heard from the other trainees that an important figure for jype had left the company to start his own and decided that that company would be the best chance she had to debut. the fact that they had no groups made her parents very worried but haerin did it anyway. she expected herself fail the audition but the years of training under mbk really helped improve both her dancing and singing abilities.
- she was accepted in may 2013 and began her training with sunrise from then on.
idol experience
- didn't really have to worry about lines or screen time so she always had antis because they felt that she never deserved her lines.
- she does dancing vlives a lot and will always bring another member with her to either learn a new dance or to show fans what she has been practicing.
- she doesn't really talk to other idols unless they talk to her first.
- was a special emcee for both inkigayo in 2018 and m countdown emcee in 2019. she would fill in the roles when the other emcee wasn't present.
- entertains fan service a lot but she still keeps it real with her fans and reminds them that there are certain boundaries that need to be kept.
- at the beginning, she searched her name online a lot. hate comments really affected her and she always imagined that the user's comment was said in her father's voiced. she stopped after awhile but still does it every now and then.
goals
- she has no real goals... just wants to improve her dancing and prays that her group performs on stage together again :( she's lost her sense of stability in the world and thinks that the best way to regain it is through continually interacting with her fans and posting things online.
her best friend, confidante and the person she trusts the most in the world — dia's jung chaeyeon. the two met in the mbk training rooms where they spent most of their time training. haerin didn't have many friends in school since she spent most of her time after school rushing to dance academies or to the company. she was glad she found chaeyeon, someone who was her age that she just felt very comfortable with. both of them had similar personalities, with chaeyeon being the friendlier and more outgoing of the two.
dating as an idol was very hard and haerin and wonwoo knew it first hand. they met through chaeyeon who introduced haerin to the seventeen boys once chaeyeon became close to mingyu during their time as inkigayo emcees. haerin had met mingyu a couple of times when she was a special emcee so she was pretty familiar with him.
they started dating in june 2018 and broke up towards the end of 2020 because he just couldn't make time for her. things were getting busier and busier for him and as their phone call time dwindled and the times they saw each other started declining, haerin saw no point on continuing what they had. she still keeps the old photos they have together in her phone though...
