appearance he has black hair that always seems perfectly in place, high cheekbones that look just a bit sunken in. he has small lips that are always a little chapped or cracking--his stylists always had a difficult time making them presentable--and his skin always appeared as if it were too tight on his skin. while other times it looked waxy or unreal. he's tall, bony, looking a little spooky if he stands in your doorway, but he's got a charming, toothy smile that makes it easy to forget your unease.

onstage and on-camera, chungeun always appeared very charitable. he would always tend to the members and hovered over them. he could produce the things they were missing before they even realized they were missing, fill in their answers whenever they faltered. his smile never faltered no matter what happened, and he always appeared calm and composed, cool as a cucumber. netizens often praised his professionalism and adaptability whenever there were tech blunders or other setbacks, and he was often complimented for his ability to calm a crowd or calm any backlash the members/group faced. chungeun always just seemed like he already knew what was going to happen and planned for it in advance. fans knew him as "the dependable oppa" or "number 1 leader"... he just always had eclipse's back.

chungeun latches onto others and vyes for their success partially because he feels as though he will not be going anywhere. he is not dumb, he knows that he doesn't have the same talent as the others, but he also knows that he has the makings of a businessman just like his father. he is able to contort the group in the most profitable ways so as to allow them to prosper. when people go out of the routine that he has curated for them or the molds that he thinks they fit best, he struggles to be able to cover for these losses. despite being known as someone who's adaptable, he struggles when people break out of their obedience. it fills him with a deep pit of rage that he can't quite name.
chungeun does seem to have everyone's best intentions in mind, but he also craves the ability to be recognized as someone who has done well. he does a lot of meddling behind the scenes, but maybe eclipse is just not big enough for him anymore. maybe, he needs to exert influence on more people in the future....

chungeun grew up in a chaebol family in gangnam. he never really had to worry about money or any sort of financial trouble. in fact, his dad mainly wanted him away from his business in order to keep the company entirely in his control--it is easy to tell where chungeun got his controlling characteristics from. so chungeun mainly spent time pursuing hobbies such as singing, dancing, and various forms of covers on youtube. chungeun liked the appeal of being an idol and he was tickled at the thought of thousands of fans fawning over him. there was something empowering about being able to move that many people.. and so he started practicing for any possible audition opportunities.
in high school, there were talks of a new entertainment company forming and he had heard about many different casting calls that were available. failing the jyp audition, only making it past 1 round for sm audition, and then not even making it to the yg audition, chungeun was beginning to feel a little hopeless. his friends had heard about the new company as well and pushed him to go for it. "maybe the other companies are too big and there's too much competition.. go for this new one and maybe your odds will be better!"

chungeun takes the money he made in eclipse and buys himself a separate apartment from his parents' in apgujeong. he settles into a nice villa and often hosts parties throughout the week. he's more of a night owl and tends to get up and moving late and stay up and active deep into the night. he tried to have multiple relationships following the dissolution of eclipse but for some reason, he was never really seen with the same woman or man for more than a week.
he gets a lot of flack from netizens for seemingly blowing all his money, but a lot of his fans justify his behavior by saying he's just using material escapism to cope with the emptiness that came with eclipse disbanding. while it's not quite certain what is the truth, one thing can be said: chungeun parties hard.

being the first trainee to enter sunrise entertainment, he didn't really have anyone to go off of. because of this, they were very adamant about training him up so that they could have a good model trainee. because of this, chungeun was a bit of a mystery? people knew that someone had signed, but they didn't have a face to the name and there wasn't any promotional footage to come out of him. they shaved his chin and gave him a nose job not too long after his entry into the company. while he didn't necessarily agree with these modifications, he felt he was doing what he had to in order to stay in the limelight.
they were pretty harsh on his vocals and on his dancing, but he was thankfully able to steer clear from rap. he just wasn't cut out for rap, and was pretty much delegated to being subvocal for the more talented trainees that began to file in from a variety of different avenues. chungeun was a bit irritated by this treatment, but he also knew that a group wasn't built out of just a single star, but instead was created out of the many different talents that were available to the company.
it was then chungeun decided, as he watched new trainees begin to trickle into the company, that he would be their overseer and would make one of the greatest groups of all time. chungeun had a determination, a passion, and a natural talent to lead. he was able to persuade the majority of trainees to do as he instructed them to, using his seniority to throw his weight around in conversations and arguments. he was good at keeping the peace, good at smoothing over conflict, and a lot of trainees relied on his guidance.
they had no idea what was coming when they would debut with him.

got benched by his company despite being there the longest and had a lot of fans demanding better treatment rather than letting him rot away. didn't really have saesangs but was known to apprehend a lot of saesang behavior. if any saesang sent anything with their blood on it, they mysteriously fell ill with some being unable to recover. there was a general feeling of unease surrounding saesangs, so they typically just stopped giving gifts to the members.

cho haerin. despite training for a shorter amount of time, chungeun still seemed to call all of the shots around haerin. blame it on her aversion to having to make the last decision, but chungeun was always good at making sure she wouldn't have to think for herself. he fed off of her pessimism, kept her always questioning about if she were doing things right. he always was a cautious eye, always asking her if she practiced enough or if she was going to bed already. despite having seniority over chungeun and knowing more, training harder, and just overall possessing the talent to one-up him, she still felt herself eternalizing what he would say. chungeun still was there for her when the negative comments came from netizens. he was very caring to her at times, but was also the first one to point out her flaws. maybe he was just pointing out the flaws before anyone else would? their relationship constantly fluctuated between being more positive or more negative. at the time of eclipse's disbandment, they were on more of a positive time--maybe because haerin had settled into the idol routine at that point and chungeun had mellowed out to a degree...
