style andy does not have much of a sense of style, and claims he does not get cold. he tends to wear tank tops and shorts, unless it really is too cold outside. then he wears a hoodie and jeans. when he is being dressed by stylists, he looks much better and always fits the theme of the comback. they especially like to put him in high waisted pants to make his legs look longer. they do not usually give him too much jewelry because he does not have any piercings of his own and necklaces always seem to break when he wears them (because he forgets he has them on). he usually wears blue and white colors, with some orange.

andrew was born and raised in a miami suburb. he always loved to sing and dance. when he was in middle school (performing arts middle school), he went to an yg audition held at disney world: he sang i just cant wait to be king from the lion king. somehow, he was accepted, but was cut from yg only two years into training. he re-auditioned in korea and jointed sunrise entertainment. after moving to korea to become a trainee full-time, he decided to attend sopa for high school. he comes from an upper-middle class background: his father is an anesthesiologist and his mom was a stay at home housewife. andrew stayed with his mom's parents (his grandparents) while he was a trainee. his mom would come to visit him often. he is the middle child in his family, he has an older brother (5 years older) and a younger sister (2 years younger). he is close with them but is not so close anymore after moving to korea.
lifestyle
under his dad's advice, andy was saving as much money as he could as soon as they started getting paid, but he moved back in with his grandparents to save more expenses. he likes it because they take care of his food and laundry; he is not very helpful around the house because when he was an idol it was all taken care of. he wants to move out soon, but is still saving up because he wants a nice apartment. he does not plan to go to university; he is still working as a singer because a friend he made on set in the middle of eclipe's career offered him a spot at their new agency when rumors of eclipse's disbandment were circulating, but he mostly does osts for dramas, and has landed a few roles in musicals. he does not consider himself an idol anymore, but it is still attached to his public persona. he also has a cf deal with a protein powder start-up. he mostly wants to focus on musical acting, but is also auditioning for roles in voice acting and has done some background/extra work in dramas. because of his current job status, his day to day schedule varies a lot. sometimes he has to stay up late, but sometimes he has to get up at three in the morning. his lifestyle is quieter than when he was a member of eclipse, and he likes that, but he still cannot take public transport because his height and pale skin make him too recognizable.

trainee experience
andy's first experience as a trainee was very poor. the other trainees at yg bullied him, because he was so unfamiliar with korea and kept on messing up. even though yang hyunsuk personally told andy that he had talent as a singer, yg entertainment let him go as a trainee after around two years. andy's grandparents encouraged him to keep trying, though, because their heard their grandson's lovely singing voice practicing every day, and eventually he was accepted into sunrise entiretainment, which was a much better environment for andy. he did not have much public exposure, but was always ranked the highest among sunrise's male trainees on vocal monthly evaluations, so it was no surprise when he was chosen to debut in eclipse. he had some trouble with dancing in sync with everyone else and singing at the same time, but he practiced very hard to improve and eventually managed to do it by the time they debuted.
idol experience
andy was more successful as an idol than he expected he would be. with his sweet voice and cute image, he was one of eclipse's stan attractors. however, this success was very surprising to him, and he had a hard time adjusting to being in the public eye at their debut. it took until their 2nd or 3rd comebacks for him to get into the hang of being an idol and have smooth reactions, not flinch when the confetti rocks go off, and ignore pushy fans. but his talent as a singer was obvious from the beginning. he participated in lots of vocal performance special stages and started getting ost deals in their 2nd year after debut, one of which was for a very popular drama. he occasionally had some backlash because people felt like he should have just debuted as a singer rather than an idol; he's still kind of awkward on variety shows and tends to have a flatter expression. a lot of his fans (coconuts) are older, mom-fan types, because of his looks and his work on osts. he found this kind of strange, but appreciate their support nonetheless. he really likes any fans that see him more as an inspiration or friend than romantic figure or their son. part of his charm doing fanservice was his reluctance and how rarely he did it, but he was often shipped with his groupmates by the fans because his image was kind of like a blank slate; he could have any character they wanted to assign to him. this did make his sasaeng fans (relatively few compared to some his groupmates) more even more strange and obsessive, but he never hesitated to call security, and sometimes there were a articles about how he does not care about his fans enough. he also worked as a radio dj for a kpop-themed english language radio show with a few other korean-american idols during eclipse's fifth year, and still guests on english programs frequently. he is closer to other english-speaking idols than most other people in the enternainment industry, but he does not have many idol friends. he was closest to his groupmates, and even then treated most of them like coworkers.
goals
andy wants to become a ballad singer, act, and work in musicals. he would also like to eventually break back into english-speaking media, but he does not think he will be able to without being typecast at the moment. he has realized since leaving eclipse that he finds working solo less stressful than in a group, so he is not that interested in having the group re-form, even though he cares about s. he wants to overcome the hate comments with his talent alone, he does not really care enough to respond to them because he is confident in his own singing abilities. dealing with people online is his pr/legal team's job.

mary-ann was one of the closest people to andy in eclipse. he found her soothing aura and kind smile, as well as willingness to sit and practice with him long into the night, really nice traits. he also thought she was very pretty. over the course of their years in eclipse together, andy slowly developed a crush on mary-ann, but he was not sure if it was requited, so he never reached out. he did not want to risk their friendship, when he has so few friends in the first place. but then eclipse disbanded and they didn't see each other as much anymore. andy still has strong feelings for her, and is considering asking her out properly when he has the chance, but he also wants to wait for her own career and life plans to settle. he wants to be with her, but he knows that too many outside stressors will tear them apart.
JOHNMICHEAL KWON

even though andy thinks john micheal is very talented and he likes his sister, he just cannot stand john michael. they were roommates since they were trainees because they could speak english to each other and the other male trainee slated to debut in eclipse always roommated with their manager, even though andy and johnmichael were not very good roommates. as the number one person who witnessed his breakdowns, andy thinks johnmichael's anger issues are very concerning, just like how he is way too nice the rest of the time. andy thinks johnmichael needs to learn balance, even if it makes him a very entertaining idol right now. he knows that he should be on better terms with john micheal if he and mary-ann are going tobe together, but he just cannot find the patience to deal with him. he also knows that johnmicheal is trying very hard to be his friend and have them get along, but andy just does not know why he does not like him. he would rather trust his gut. he has not discussed this with mary-ann yet, but she knows they are not on the best terms.

haerin and andy were not close at trainees because they were both focused on improving than getting close to people, but theh respected each other. they also respected each other as coworkers when they were in eclipse, but they never really had a reason other than work to talk to each other. they also did not get comfortable with each other because their fans would sometimes ship them, and this made things awkward. after eclipse's disbandment, andy does not allow himself to talk to women other than mary-ann because he does not want to suggest to the general public that he is interested in anyone. he feels it's like cheating.. so he is not very close to haerim, but he thinks she should try and continue her career because she has talent.
