donghoon is, above all, someone who loves peace. what he aims to do in life is make people happy and safe. he is an extremely shy but loyal guy. honestly, he's not someone who likes to go meet new people and doesn't start a conversation with someone else if he doesn't know them. he'll just be the quiet polite guy. but if you start actually talking to him, he'll show a great interest in you, though a big difficulty at storing personal information from others. he's ok at remembering birthdays for example, but small info will be hard for him to remember. it's not that he doesn't care, not at all, his brain just can't manage to focus on those things. despite that, he will always do his best to make others happy. he'll help each time he can, even if he's not good at doing that thing. he's often smiling and giggling, and often thought as the cute pretty boy who's always bright, which he enjoys.

donghoon had a pretty easy life. he lived in a high middle-class family, surrounded by loving parents and a friendly big brother. as always in korean families, everything was made so that they had to have success. their studies was the most important thing for them. and his brother was good - very good. donghoon lived his life constantly compared with others. his brother was taller, more handsome, more intelligent. his friends had better grades or had won sport competitions. hoon on the other hand, was focused on books and movies. when he was ten, his brother took him to the cinema for the very first time and it was a revelation. he knew what he wanted. the colors, the timing, the actors, he just loved every second of it. and he loves the reactions from the audience just as much. that's when he knew : he would be a director.
but his parents didn't care. he had to work hard anyway. when his brother got scouted by sm entertainment, his parents were ecstatic. gone were the parents who cared about grades, they were just so happy that their son was going to be part of a famoux company. soon enough, they dreamt of having two famous children they could gush about. there was no way that donghoon was going to do anything less than his brother. they soon took donghoon to every possible company and forced him to audition. but he didn't want that. he was refused to major companies. the disappointment of his parents was destroying him and when he was fourteen, he decided to audition to sunrise entertainment. when he got in, he thought it would at least appease his parents until they let him go and let him focus on what he wants. well, the future had definitely something else in store for him.

when their contract ended, donghoon had no choice but to leave the dorm provided by the company. his own pride turned down any possibilities to go back to his parents' house and he didn't want to call his brother for help either. he used what he had saved up for his projects to pay for a simple goshiwon in yongsan, hoping to lay low for a while. for several weeks, he only left his place to get groceries. he would lay down on his bed and cry for hours. for the first days, he couldn't distinguish night and day for his sleep cycle was not following any rule. after his best friend found him and forced him to go outside, he was in such a state that no one could recongize him. or so he thought. he managed to get a job at a local convenience store, but after two weeks, some fans came along to take pictures. he heard whispers of "is it hoon?" "looks like hoon from eclipse!" "no, it can't be him, he's dirty!" "he's so thin... have you seen the bags under his eyes?" "i'm sure he's doing drugs, that's why eclipse disbanded."... it was too much for him. but with hwanwoong pushing him, he just got a job somewhere else. his life is just going to his job, going back home, sleeping a couple of hours, with a few anxiety attacks here and there. he lives with his head low, dreading to be recognized.

donghoon's trainee days started pretty easily. after he was scouted, he was kind of doing it just for fun. he didn't expect things to be so hard. training was hard and though they weren't many people, he didn't expect everyone to be so good. he was around average most of the time but he had the looks and the famous brother. he was one of the first trainees of the company and was chosen to debut with eclipse to his own surprise. he was actually half-assing everything hoping to be kicked out as his mother had been the one forcing him to apply to different companies. but then again, han sojun probably saw something in him.
during his actual training, though he wasn't giving his all, he always paid attention to what was said and learnt a lot. he was friendly with all the trainees and loved to watch them and praise them. he knew he wasn't good enough and wasn't trying to, but he wanted to be like a cheerleader for them. and despite not being that good, he could pick up things pretty quickly, so he spent a lot of time helping the other trainees, especially when it came to complicated dances.

idol life was... difficult. when donghoon got chosen to be part of eclipse, he was definitely lacking and it was not hard to see it. he didn't know what to do and was pretty lost. nevertheless, he worked hard, very hard. yet, by the time the dark was released, fans and anti-fans alike were saying on various forms that he was dragging the group down, that he should leave, that he was not good enough. and that's when his nightmare began. reading so many hateful comments on him really saddened him and he believed each and every one of them. but when he looked at s and how hard they worked, he realized that it was time. he gave it his 200%. he was the first up in the morning and the last to go to bed for the next six months. he practiced his dance routine night and day until he could dance blindfolded. he knew he could do it if he actually worked instead of just doing the bare minimum. this time, he would do it. and his hardwork paid off. s definitely noticed the difference and were the first to praise him, while fans were stunned at his new talent for after dark.
but the haters were already there. they didn't want him in the group. now that he worked hard, for them he worked too hard but it wasn't good enough anyway. and what could he do then ? they started rumors and scandals just to spite him, to the point that donghoon just didn't leave their dorms alone anymore. he wanted to give it his all and to help s, he was tired of feeling like a burden. so he just focused on them.
shows gave him a better opportunity to show that he was different than what those antis thought he was. he just showed the golden side of him, the helpful little brother. he honestly didn't care if he wasn't popular, he just wanted to avoid dragging them down. so he promoted the others as much as he could. everytime he was asked questions, he would always point the achievements of the others. he didn't care about solo activities or anything else, but he was so happy to see the others in dramas or singing solo. and if they wanted to do something with him, he would happily do it, because he just loved spending time with them. the only moment he did a solo activity was guest in an episode of problematic men back in 2018 when they recruit idols, but he was eliminated, which truly saddened him.
his opportunity to shine came during some of their shows and later on, during the filming of "oh nana". for once, donghoon asked a favor from his ceo. he wanted to be the director for their new music video. it was his dream after all, and he wanted to make s shine. so he directed the music video with the help of an assistant, but when the video was released, his name was not in the credits. han sojun told him that he feared that promoting the music video as filmed by him would trigger his antis and hoon understood. so he accepted to disappear from the credit of the music video - and the story repeated itself for "ride on the wind". but it was for the sake of the group, so he didn't mind. and even if s complained and were upset in his stead, he was okay with it.
he thought he would spend years and years with them. he would live their dreams and help them, and he would just enjoy life with his new family. so when the disbandment was announced, he felt like his world was crumbling down. he got the news on the day it was acted and it was too late. he begged and cried but no one answered. he did his best to act as if nothing had happened until their last day, but he crumbled after that. after that last day, not even one member picked up his calls. so... they just gave up on him after all ? they abandoned him as if he never mattered. anger and sadness took over him - and he disappeared.

after the group disbanded, no one heard of him for several weeks. rumors and fake pictures on forums blamed him for the situation. he cut himself from everything. he just didn't know what to do. his dream of being a director was ruined. he wouldn't be able to go to university without being recognized (he had tried during his time in eclipse) and he had no relations whatsoever. he has no goal apart from staying alive - and even that goal is feeble. he just wants to be forgotten so he can get a random 9 to 5 job. yet he can't help dreaming about the past and what it would feel like to be with s.

even before being two idols, the two brothers were very close. donghoon looked up to sehun a lot and the latter always loved taking care of his baby brother. when the industry spat on donghoon, sehun was always there to cheer him up and to push him, always believing in him no matter what. despite that, donghoon couldn't help feeling jealousy towards his older brother. years and years of being compared, of always being said he was not as good, took its toll on him. when eclipse disbanded, he ignored all of his brother's calls, for he couldn't stand to see his brother finally being disappointed.

he is the one person who stuck to him no matter how hard he tried to push him away. after what happened, hwangwoong tried his best to find his friend but to no avail. and when he finally found him, he was shocked to see his state. he went to visit him as much as he could with his busy schedule and has taken the role of a hen mother, despite being a year younger. hwanwoong was his closest friend in the industry and still is. he is his confidente and his light, and even though donghoon hates himself for forcing this on his friend, he's so glad he's here, and hwanwoong knows this very well. it's thanks to hwanwoong that he started eating again and going out.

with eclipse disbanding, donghoon lost any possible connection with the idol world. and with that disappeared the one chance at happiness he thought he could have. gunhak and donghoon were friends on screen and off screen, but a couple of months prior to their fall, something had started to change for him. flirty texts, sincere smiles and eyes searching for each other. yet nothing had time to happen. hoon was terrified of this newfound attraction for someone of the same and what it could do to his group. the day gunhak left him a voice mail saying he liked him was the day he heard the news that their contract would stop. and with that, donghoon just disappeared from the idol world, leaving everything and (almost) everyone behind. his feelings are still there but he ignores them. it's better that way.

he thought they were friends and he really, really liked her. she looked up to her and admired her. he loved her talent and she liked showing her songs first, always looking for advice. she was his pillar and being the same age, he hung out with her most of the time. they had a lot of fun together and she managed to bring out the funny side of him even in front of the cameras. amongst all the members, haerin was the one donghoon trusted the most and that's why he felt the most betrayed when he didn't answer him. he can't understand that she lives as if nothing happened. he watched one of her lives and couldn't stand it more than a couple of minutes. well, good for her. at least her talent was not going to waste. obviously she didn't need him.

hi there ! it took me a while to get this guy out but i hope you'll like him ! i wanted to show a bit the dark side of the kpop world that took so many wonderful people. hopefully this one can be saved ~ hopefully he's not too angsty !
- regarding the members not picking up his calls, i'd love a scene where they all realize that he just always called at a time where they literally couldn't pick up or thought they would call back but never did - and they would apologize for it.
