there is no vast difference between on-camera minjae and off-camera jaehyung. the on-camera minjae was portrayed to be a ditzy frat boy with a dashing, masculine visuals. that was the thing that the company sets for him. his thing. however, it wasn't too far-fetched than what off-camera jaehyung is like. jaehyung is very friendly and funny; he isn't as talkative as he is in variety shows but he still makes conversations and brighten up the whole room. he likes to tease others and basically, annoy them with funny videos on the internet hehe. perhaps, this is all thank to his adaptable nature. he knows what to say to what kind of people; and is very observant where he knows what topic perks the other person's interests. he's very caring in a sense where he'll always try to make everyone feels included.

jaehyung was not exactly born in a perfect family. he was born to a single mother who was a student when she gave birth to him as his father left him when he found out that his mother was pregnant. he didn't know much about his father; and truth to be told, he doesn't really care about him. for most of his life, he lived with his grandmother and mother. his grandmother is a street vendor while his mother is an accountant. these two are the only two people that he cares about.
his mother and his grandmother is not exactly on its best terms; but jaehyung has always been the peacemaker of the household. even since he was young, he has always been happy-go-lucky and cheerful. he has two women who dote on him and shower him with love. he grew up, pretty much like everyone else.

however, living in seoul as a single mother is hard – especially in financial terms. despite his mother being an accountant, his mother is not able to provide the best for jaehyung, despite trying hard to do it. she could only afford extra tuition and that is it. despite jaehyung being quite a smart guy, he knew that he could not compete with other kids who have extra tuition, external academic counsellors, art classes and the list goes on.
when he was sixteen, he was approached by sunrise entertainment on a street. he saw it as an opportunity to earn money for his family; to stop being an extra burden to his family, and so, he became a trainee. he was not really interested in music at the first place; he just wants money.
lifestyle
the disbandment was definitely a shocker for him; he does not have any idea of what to do outside of eclipse. he lived in the dorm provided by the company before the disbandment, mostly because he does not like being alone. now, he stays at his own place; often crashing at his boyfriend's place, or his friends' place, purely because he does not really like being alone.
however, he does not have plans to go back to being in the entertainment industry though. he feels that his talents aren't enough for him to be a soloist, or an actor. he found his passion in sports; in particular, archery during his time as an idol. it is all thanks to isac. he plans to become a professional archer by participating in tournaments across the country. his dream is to join the olympics.
he is not as active in social media as he was during his idol life. however, he does give some updates on his life, now and then. he also accepts endorsement deals and some modelling gigs. aside from that, he doesn't post a lot on social media; primarily because he wants to live a more private life now.

the fanservice is nice as well! jaehyung genuinely enjoys it. for jaehyung, he genuinely loves his band members and he does not have a problem to express it. he doesn't mind doing skinship with s and being shipped together. he also loves his fans; so, he does not have any problems with entertaining them during fansigns. especially those who bring him expensive gifts.
however, he does not enjoy the way some sasaengs are built though. he could keep his calm when sasaeng fans camp outside their dormitory. he could brush the threatening letters off. however, some sasaengs cross the line by finding out his family's address. there are also some people who contacted him; claiming to be his father. it was extremely insensitive– especially when jaehyung does not intend to search for that man.
despite enjoying most of his time as an idol, jaehyung knows that it is not sustainable. he could not do it without the support of his bandmates. in a sense, jaehyung feels that he would not make it big as a soloist. acting, on the other hand, is not where his heart belongs. plus, he wants to try and live a more private life.
goals
goals and jaehyung does not fit in a sentence, really. this man lives life at the present and when asked about future plans, all he really wants... is to be healthy. however, after the group disbanded, jaehyung wanted to pursue sports. his ambition is to be a professional archer. he is trained by a coach now and is planning to participate in professional tournaments. in a sense, to be taken more seriously, jaehyung draws back from social media. he wants to be known as archer min jaehyung, instead of ex-idol minjae.
relationship section
cho haerin.
these two are very different from each other. it came to a shocker how debby downer and positive polly could even be in a relationship; but they did. they first met as trainees – but it wasn't until they were in eclipse did they start to talk.
after their debut promotions, these two started being closer and started dating. although haerin was hesitant at first, jaehyung reasoned that since they are going to spend a lot of time together as a group, they might as well date each other, just to experience what it feels like to be a young adult. they rely a lot on each other emotionally at first where they would share their hardships and the other would listen and give their advice.
however, as they started to become more famous, haerin felt that jaehyung was being too dependent on her. he started displaying his affection outright in front of the staffs and he became too clingy.
obviously, this was bad for eclipse; who was just starting to gain some popularity. so, haerin decided to call the relationship off after the promotions of no love. since then, their relationship is somewhat strained.
jaehyung did not accept rejection well and being dumped took a huge toll on him. the two definitely talked less afterwards; to the point where jaehyung avoided sitting or standing next to haerin. in fact, some eagle-eyed fans pointed this out. his frustration subsided after the 'oh nana' promotions. however, he was still offended that haerin dumped him though.

arguably, one of the most famous squad there is, jaehyung is also apart of the group. he was added by seventeen's mingyu, a friend whom he met during a music show. the squad includes jungkook (bts), yugyeom (got7), bambam (got7), mingyu (seventeen), the8 (seventeen), dk (seventeen), cha eunwoo (astro) and jaehyun (nct). he's pretty close to them until now. while they don't meet each other often in real life, they chat inside the group almost every day. he would say that he is the closest to jungkook and mingyu.

jaehyung's current archery coach. they first met during isac where the idols have to learn about archery. it turns out that jaehyung has a natural knack to the sport. jaehyung, who enjoys the sport, contacted jeonghan a lot when he is free to learn about archery. when eclipse disbanded, jaehyung contacted jeonghan to ask if there is a possibility for him to make archery a career.
some might argue that jaehyung is too old to start training professionally; but age is just a number, right? anyways, jaehyung sees jeonghan as an older brother whom he is grateful of. he is very supportive of jaehyung in whatever he wishes to do.

current boyfriend <3 they met through jungkook. they hit up pretty well, even on their first meeting. they share the same chaotic 'vibes' and it's just honestly fun to be around each other. after eclipse wrapped their promotions for dumb litty in 2019, they've decided to date when jaehyung asked him out.
their interactions are mostly based on humour. both of them share the same personality; enfp. they don't usually go on dates due to him being an international star but if they do, it is usually at jaehyung's place. when they meet though, these to are basically inseparable. they both are very expressive and like to take care of each other. expect a lot of cuddles underneath the sheets, an abundance of love-making, makeout sessions and little pecks.
