Yoona’s POV

She dribbled the ball like a pro, zooming past her opponents across the court. Her blonde hair was dripping because of the sweat he was earning from too much playing basketball.

I sat there, alone on the bleachers, her bag right beside me as I waited for her practice to end. I watched as she stood out in her red basketball jersey, her face so serious and determine. I noticed that she had the ball on her hands again; she is really good at playing even though she’s a girl her skills are to compare with all the basketball team combined. She went to shoot the ball and it looks effortless when the ball went in the hoop. She looked at my spot and show her dorky smile while gesturing a ‘thumbs up’ to me. I returned the smile.

It was a signal that practice was over. She said a quick goodbye to her teammates as she jogged her way to me. My heart beats crazily as she made her way to me. It looks like she was moving in a slow motion. I could feel my cheeks starting to feel warm as she sat next to me.

“Yoona, let’s go get something to eat. I’m starving” she said as she grabbed her water bottle and drink it in one go.

“Sure” I smiled, as I handed a towel to her.

“Sorry it took so long. We’re having a regional competition this weekend that’s why coach made us practice longer” she said as she wiped her face with her towel

“Don’t you want to take a shower first? You look hot” I said without thinking. I realized that the last word sounded so wrong.

“I am hot” she said while grinning like a dork. My cheeks reddened as she said those words.

“Conceited much. I mean, you look stinky and sweaty after that intense practice you did” I said not wanting to embarrass myself again

“I wasn’t. You said I was hot in the first place, so why don’t you just admit it?” she grinned slyly, placing the towel over her head.

“Oh please, Am. I just don’t want to be with you if you stink like an old gym socks.” I retorted

“Pfft…” she suppressed her laugh. I just rolled my eyes on him, picking up my bag from the bleachers ready to leave.

“Yoongie-ah wait, I thought we will it together?” she grabbed my shoulder before I can leave the court

“You were making fun of me, so just eat by yourself” I said. She turned me around and then I saw her pouting Urggh, why you must make that face. You know I can’t resist that

“Sorry Yoongie-ah. I won’t do it again. Please eat with me~~~” she said as she was giving me those puppy eyes of her

“Aish okay. Be quick, okay?” I said as I wait for her to finish her shower.

She finished her shower 10 minutes later. She really looks good with those wet hair urghh Yoona stop thinking like that. She went to me and gathers her stuff until…

“Hi Amber” said this barbie-girl look a like

“Hi Jessica” he smile politely and I saw the girl blushed.Dork why you smiled like that. Urghh can’t you see she likes you. Tsss, these cheerleaders and their flirty ways.

“Yoongie, can you wipe my back?” she asked as I keep sending glares to those flirty girls

“Sur—“ O_O My eyes widened as I saw Amber’s well-toned body. Even though she’s a girl her body can make straight girls turn into Bi if they see her abs. on the second thought only me can see this asset of her

“Well? Hurry up Yoongie, please~~” she pleaded as she eyed me impatiently

“Y-yeah” I took another towel from her gym bag, shivering as I started wiping her back

“Amber, is she your girlfriend?” what the hell is this Barbie girl doing here again? Oh hell yeah I wish I was her girlfriend. Say yes Am~~ before Amber can answer another girl butted in

“I don’t think so. She must be a water girl or a nanny or something” the other girl with the freaking eye-smile and an all pink outfit.

A nanny to Amber J. Liu?

I’d be happy to. If it means seeing her abs all the time the hell yeah!

“Yeah, Yoona is my girlfriend, so if you can excuse us. I want to eat with my girlfriend now” Amber said holding my hand and intertwined our fingers as we made way to the exit

“Why did you lie to them?” I asked

“They’re being nosy. I hate annoying people” she said still holding my hand

As we walk along the hallway I was thinking the day when we spent the summer holiday together last year, running into each other after we found out that we lives in the same neighbourhood, and I was coincidentally babysitting her younger sister too. After a few more meeting we became best of friend and we were inseparable. Then I realized that I love her.

I really want her to know, but I was afraid. I was afraid that it would ruin our friendship. Being this close to Amber is enough for me now until I gather all my courage to tell him that she is more than a best friend to me.

“Yoongie” I was surprised when she broke my thoughts. I wonder if she noticed me spacing out.

“What?” I looked at her, meeting her pale brown orbs

“What do you mean ‘what’? I’ve been calling you many times now. Didn’t you hear me? Are you okay?” she said with worried tone

“Of course I’m alright” I said as I gave her an assuring smile

“Well, if you say so. Let’s get going then” we were heading to the café to eat, then she brake the silent as she speaks “Yoongie, I’m going to tell you something important later, okay?”

“Okay” what is he going to tell me? Is he going to tell me he likes me back? Is this the moment I have been waiting for? These are the questions that’s running on my mind as soon as continue to walk to the café
