Everything went blank for a few seconds after he listen to her confession.

All he have in his mind is why must his own best friend fall for a playboy like him and why not any other guy. 

Every memory of him and her are coming back to him which make him to become more restless but all he can do is

to act calm in front of her. He knows how hard for her to battle with her nervousness just for the confession

and he just don't want her to carry any more burden which might happen if she saw how uneasy and awkward he is right now.

He was still in a deep thought when suddenly she spoke,

“ Jonghyun oppa ... Please .. say something. “

He can sense her trembling voice as she tried to finished her words. * This wasn't suppose to happen ... *

“ Sunyoung-ah ... “ He gathered his courage just to say her name and then slowly he reach out for her hand, gently caressed it.

“ Look at me. “ She turned to faced him.

“ It must be really hard for you to kept this feeling right ? And I can see your effort for this.

Thank you Sunyoung.. Thank you so much for everything especially for the feelings that you have for me. “

There's a light smile plastered on her face by this moment and that just make him even more guilty.

“ I really appreciate it , but .. I'm sorry Sunyoung. I can't. “

His heart feels like sank when he uttered those words, he felt really bad as he just broke her heart with that,

and worse his heart feels like broken into pieces when he saw the smile on her face were gone but he know,

it was nothing compared to what she feels right now.

He feel so pathetic because he know he's the reason behind those sad face.

“ You .. you .. can't ? “ She bit her lower lip while slowly keep her head down.

“ I'm sorry Sunyoung-ah. I don't feel the same for you. I do love you but only as a friend, and as an oppa. “

“ But .. why ? Is it because I'm not good enough for you ? “

She asked trying to hold her tears but she can't as it's finally ran down her face.

“ It's not you. It's me. I'm not ready for a serious relationship. I choose to be a player and I'm sticked with my decision ..

Did you get what I mean ? I can't make you happy Sunyoung because of it and hurting my own friend is the thing

that I don't want to do. You're beautiful Sunyoung, you have everything and you didn't lack of anything

so don't ever tried to put the blame on you. It's me .. I can't love you even I can't love anyone else.

It's really hard for me to feel the love again. “ He said as he wiped her tears from her face.

“ It won't work between us .. Let's just stay as friend. It's the best for us. “

“ Can't you at least try ? “

“ I'm sorry Sunyoung. I really am. “ He pulled her for a warm hug.

“ I'm sure there's someone outside there waiting for you who really deserve you than me. “

She keep on crying on his shoulder after that while Jonghyun just keep calming her down.

It was a really difficult decision for him to break her heart but he know it's the best for her,

at least he didn't give any hope for her and it was all because he was sure that his heart was only meant for her,

the only person that he love, his first love.

 

Jonghyun just let her go back home alone as he respect her decision although he really worried about her safety

but he just put any negative thought aside and pray that nothing will happen to her along her way home.

He then sat at the corner of the room while holding onto the plush toys with Dino on his left and Ponyo on his right hand.

His eyes shifted to the little box on his left which nicely wrapped with a red ribbon.

 

[Flashback]

 

“ Be careful. “ She nodded lightly before weakly turned away from him.

She suddenly stops as she remembered something, “ There .. something .. err .. hold on. “

She took her bag and take out something from there. With a trembling hands she handed it to him,

“ I just want you to have this even though ... errm .. I .. I .. put a lot of effort on it. I'll .. go first. “

She quickly turned and walked away from him not even dare to make any eye contact with him.

 

[End Of Flashback]

 

Gently he unwrapped the ribbon and open the box. A warm smile was plastered on his face as soon as he saw the things.

It was a homemade cookies, which only one of it with a heart shape and a ' DINO ' written on it with a pink icing

while the rest are all in round shape with chocolate chips on top of it.

“ She shouldn't have fall in love with me. We shouldn't met at the first place. That way she won't feel hurt like now. “

 

Luna seems like can't stop crying after that. She's now can feel her body start to become weaker and that make her to fasten 

her steps because she know she can collapse at any time. 

As she reached the house, “ OMG !! YOU'RE BACK ! “

The maknae seems so excited as she saw Luna at the door and quickly she dragged her towards the couch

with the rest are waiting for her with a bright smile on their face.

“ So ? “

“ Tell us everything ! “

“ Unni .. It's happen right ? You guys are together now right ? “

“ Luna ? “

Luna slowly take a glimpse at each of her friends before went towards Victoria to have a warm hug from her.

A hug that she hope will comfort her on that time although she know it was not enough for wear out her pain.

The three of them were stunned and so do Victoria as they watch Luna crying right now.

“ Luna .. What .. “

Luna cut her before she even finished her line. “ He don't love me unni. He can't love me. I feel so hurt right now. I don't .. I .. “

“ Shh .. Just cry as much as you want for now. “

All the girls also feel the pain when they saw how miserable Luna are right now and they feel really bad because all they can do

on that moment was just comforting her although they want to do more than that.

 

The girls just let Luna to have her rest without asking anything to her.

Victoria make sure that Luna is fine on her bed first before informing the boy about her.

After 10 minutes the boys finally showed up. “ Where's Jjong ? “ Victoria asked Minho.

“ He's still not home yet. “

“ How is she noona ? “ Taemin asked in concern.

“ She's sleeping right now. She must be really tired today. It's been a really tough day for her. “

“ What happen ? “ Key asked Sulli.

“ We didn't want to ask her about it yet, she looks so awful but all that we know is Jonghyun oppa turned her down. “

“ I can't believe it. I thought they have feelings for each other. “ Key add some more.

“ It was such a waste. Luna did put a lot of effort for today but end up .. Aishh “

Minho can't even finished his words as he felt bad for Luna.

All of them continued to talk about it but they tried their best to keep their voice down the whole time

so that they won't bother Luna.

“ Should we call Jjong hyung now ? “ Taemin asked Onew.

“ No. Let's just meet him at home. Let's have a boys talk first. We have to listen to him also. “

“ Yeah .. Onew is right. I'm sure he's will feel more comfortable to talk about this with you guys first. “

“ Let just go back now .. maybe Jjong .. Huh ? “ The door bell rung which make Key to stopped his line.

“ I'll get it. “ Sulli walked towards the door and shockingly she found Jonghyun were the one at the door.

“ Op .. Oppa. “

Jonghyun entered the house when he saw all of his friends were there.

“ I just wanna know whether Luna come back home safely or not. “ He said with a weak voice but still able to heard.

“ She's err .. Fine ? Sleeping right now. “

Amber told him awkwardly as she looked at how miserable he is although he tried to covered it with a fake smile. 

“ That's .. a relief. “ He said while glancing at his friends who didn't take their eyes off him since he get into the house.

By just looking at their face he know that all of them were already know about what just happen between him and Luna.

“ Err .. you guys must know about us .. err .. “

“ Come on Jjong. Let's go home. You need a rest too. We'll talk about this later. “

Onew said as he patted on his back which really make him to feel slightly relief.

“ Noona .. I'm sorry about .. “

“ Just .. rest Jjong. We talk about this tomorrow. “

Victoria know that Jonghyun were also pressured with what just happen and she tried not put any other pressure on him.

“ Ok .. But .. Can I give this back to her ? She's kinda left it there just now. “ He showed Victoria the plush toy that Luna owned.

“ I don't know Jjong .. “

“ I won't wake her up. I promise. I just put it on her table. That's all. “

That was only part of his plan because the real reason is he want to look at her condition with his own eyes.

“ Sure ! Make it fast. “

“ Thanks noona. “

 

Jonghyun lead his way towards her room with the rest just watching him from outside.

Once he's in, he found that Luna were sleeping. Slowly he reached towards her and placed the plush toy on the bed next to her.

He then pulled the blanket and help her cover her body with it.

He just stood there and stare at those sad face that she have right now which also cause him to feel the pain at the same time.

* Mianhae .. Sunyoung-ah. * He caressed her hair before lead himself out of the room.

What he doesn't know is Luna was awake and just pretended to sleep the whole time.

She open her eyes when the door closed and a weak smile was plastered on her face as soon as her eyes met her Ponyo.

As much as she feel hurt right now, part of her heart feel really glad because Jonghyun still cared about her,

just like how he is as always. She know that it must be really hard for him too to make such a decision.

The next thing that she know is she already pulled the Ponyo onto her embraced.
