Because I Love You (Chapter 31)

“Finally huh?” Baekhyun spoke first. 

Taeyeon smiled and shyly tugged her hair behind her ears while nodding.

“So you going to the dance tonight?” Taeyeon asked as she felt herself blushing.

Suddenly, Baekhyun’s tone saddened “I wish I could…”

Taeyeon suddenly felt her heart shatter into pieces, knowing that the guy she still loved couldn’t make it for the final ball of graduation. “Why…” She voiced in sorrow. 

“My dad is leaving to Japan tonight for his three-week business trip and I have to send him off at the airport with my mum” He explained.

“But it’s graduation night Baek….it only happens once in a life time….”

“I know Taeng…I’m sorry….” Baekhyun said as tears flushed down Taeyeon’s eyes, suddenly feeling the rush of pain dashing through her veins. But yet, Baekhyun did not take any action. All he did was that he kept his head down low with guilt.

This was when Taeyeon thought that things between them were over. She thought that after all these times, she was the only stupid one holding on to this feeling. He didn’t seem bothered by the fact that he couldn’t make it for the ball while Taeyeon was burning in despair and desolation on the inside.

That evening, Taeyeon was sitting in front of the mirror in the dressing room, well-dressed in a dark blue ankle length gown, knowing that this is the last night she will be spending in this dorm. 

Tiffany who was busy with her hair saw Taeyeon staring soullessly into her own reflection. So she put down what she was doing and went over to hover her into her arms. “What’s wrong my little butterfly…” 

“He’s not coming…” Taeyeon said as she looked at Tiffany through the mirror, having a tear drop forming at the corner of her eyes. 

“Well, at least you know he still loves you right?” Tiffany said as she fondled with Taeyeon’s blonde hair.
