Two
Secrets"Junhyung, Nurse Kim talked to me last night... You know, after the movie."
Frowning slightly, Junhyung glanced up from the towels he was folding and looked into Yoseob's eyes.
He knew where this conversation was leading to and as much as he loved to give Yoseob the answer he wanted, he knew he couldn't.
It was almost time.
Observing Junhyung's silence and furrowed brows, Yoseob's fingers unconciously fiddled the hem of his shirt nervously.
He knew Junhyung was very aware of the topic he was about to bring about.
Even without Nurse Kim's words, Yoseob was very curious as to what Junhyung's thoughts to this topic was.
For the past few times when this topic was raised, Yoseob had seen frustration and guilt flashing in Junhyung's eyes.
He knew Junhyung had secrets and he knew that Junhyung was not hiding them from Yoseob on purpose.
Yoseob knew Junhyung well enough, to know that the secrets was not about lying to Yoseob, but rather, it seemed strongly like a form of protection for Yoseob.
"It's about your work here..." Yoseob added cautiously. He didn't want Junhyung to be upset nor stressed by the topic.
This time, Junhyung let out a sigh and he eyed the floor, the bangs of his hair shadowing his eyes, further emphasizing the gloom and guilt that is settling in him.
Yoseob moved silently to Junhyung's side, "We just find that you had been and still are a really great help for the hospice. Anyway, since you're here and even living here, why don't you just settle to be a full timer rather than settle for part time wages?"
Yoseob had practised these words countless of times before looking for Junhyung and yet, he himself was still unconvinced by his own words.
It had seemed like the most logical reasoning to anybody but with Junhyung, Yoseob knew that that wasn't a reason that was strong enough.
While many would assume that Junhyung was a full time worker in the hospice since he was there 24/7, the fact was that Junhyung was a part timer only.
And Yoseob had to admit that it scared him a little. That Junhyung could just pack his bags and leave the hospice, leave Yoseob, any time he wanted.
"Seob ah, it's not about the money..."
"I know. If it was, you would have converted when Nurse Kim first suggested the full time option for you. So... What is it about?"
"I can't tell you..."
"Yes you can. You just don't want to." Yoseob crossed his arms and pouted.
Junhyung stared at the childish pose that Yoseob was in and lightly chuckled. He placed his right palm on Yoseob's head and started playing with the smaller male's hair. It was soft, slightly ruffled in a casual manner, and was black, contrasting nicely against Yoseob's fair skin.
"Yes, I don't want to. It's for your own good."
Yoseob bit his lips. He appreciated that Junhyung never hid anything from him and even if he was, it was about this set of secrets and Junhyung was very open about him hiding this set of secrets. And yet, he hated that. Sometimes, he wondered if it would be better that Junhyung lied to him, so that he would not worry this much for him. "What, am I your son or something? I'm only a year younger and even if I am small, I can definitely take whatever you're hiding from me."
"I know you can. It's others that I'm afraid of. And no you're not my son. You're someone who matters too much, that's why you're the last person I can tell my secrets too." Junhyung's right fingers that were tangled in Yoseob's hair had released themselves and slowly reached Yoseob's shoulder, bringing him in for a hug. He breathed deeply and the refreshing green apple smell of Yoseob's shampoo infiltrated his nostrils in a delightful and comforting manner.
Yoseob smiled to himself whilst in Junhyung's embrace. He placed his palm on Junhyung's chest and pushed himself away, far
