                Hidden behind the high pile of documents full of Korean words, Jaejoong tried very cautiously to translate everything in proper Japanese. Mumbling for himself, saying out loud every single doubt he had on the translation, he completed document as well as he could. Every time he managed to translate some complicated words, any one could see how proud he was of his achievement. When he couldn't do it himself, he thankfully could trust his colleagues to help him as well as they could. Even if none of his Japanese co-worker could truly speak Korean, they were all very dedicated to help him improve. Usually, after a short time, one of them ended up by his side, looking at the different sentences and trying to find the matching one in Korean. After some hesitation, discussing on the meaning, they managed to find the perfect translation and Jaejoong happily thanked them for the help, filling a small notebook with all the words he learnt, keeping it with him like a dictionary.

In fact, the task was far from being necessary. All of the documents in the company were made in four languages, Japanese, English, Chinese and Korean. No matter the language used on the first version, they had a special service specialised for that purpose. Moreover, being the son of one of the most powerful shareholder, travelling back and forth between Korea and Japan all his life long, he had studied Japanese from his younger age and was completely fluent since he was a teenager.

However, he had understood a long time ago this exotic side, if it could bring some discrimination from time to time, it was also a powerful trademark. He knew how touched people were to see him work hard on the language and praising them on the difficulty to write all the complicated kanjis he had learnt long before coming in the country.

Thanks to this little dramatization, he had insured himself the friendly support of most of his new colleagues in a blink of an eye. After only few days, he was fully integrated in the team and commonly praised for his work. They all seemed drawn toward him, without even noticing.

Only Changmin kept his distance with him.

Jaejoong knew all too well the reason, but far from getting discouraged, he only saw it as a new challenge, a step to reach his goal. It had only been few days since his transfer and Jaejoong decided to give Changmin some time to get used to his presence. He needed to wait to make things a bit more natural, but he didn't plan to let him walk away even one footstep further.

If they were both Korean, their behaviour regarding their background was completely different. Contrary to the Jaejoong's behaviour, Changmin almost seemed to hide the fact in his everyday life. Not that he was shy or ashamed of it, but he visibly tried very hard to fit the Japanese standards without complaining or showing any trace of his difficulties.

From his attitude, it was quite difficult to guess. His Japanese was perfect whether it be oral or writing and he was never out of step with any cultural habit. Everybody treated him like they treated everybody else, like one of them and Jaejoong even wondered if the other workers knew or not. If it wasn't for his name and the mention from the old owner of the café, Jaejoong could have doubted it.

Looking at Changmin, Jaejoong could see him completely focused on his work, not even looking up a second. Quickly, Jaejoong pulled away some of his stuff and stood up to pick them back, bumping into a man who was passing by.

“Omo... I’m sorry,” he apologised with puppy eyes, showing all his regrets in a way that could make anybody melt.

Giving in, the usually grumpy man didn't look up and bowed instead, forgiving easily. Jaejoong bowed back and flashed him a smile, enough to settle the matter faster than any apology could.

As simply as this, it was back, Changmin's gaze on him, and Jaejoong couldn't have been happier. There, he thought, finally. He refrained from smiling and sat back.

Changmin wasn't looking at him that much, at least not as much as Jaejoong would have wanted. But when he did, he could feel his gaze against his skin, heavy and piercing. It was a bit destabilizing and not really comfortable, but the attention itself made Jaejoong's body warmer.

Very conscious of the attention focused on him, he tried his best to act as if he didn't notice it. He could feel each movement Changmin made and want
