Chapter 21
It's Okay, It's LoveI was about to exit my classroom when I bumped into someone’s back. Gosh, my nose.
“Ugh!” I groaned.
“Not my fault.” That deep voice which was so familiar to my ears greeted me.
“Yah! Oh Sehun!” I complained and hit his arm.
“Yah! I haven’t been to school for two days and this is how you welcomed your best friend.” Sehun ranted and rolled his eyes.
“Still!” I was about to continue complaining about my poor nose but the sight of Sehun’s busted lips stopped me from it.
“Yah! What happened to you? Did you get into a fight?” I asked in panic as I examined his face.
“Nah, it’s nothing. Let’s go to the cafeteria. I’m thirsty.” He said, completely tossing my questions into the air.
I was curious but I had to strategise to get him into spilling the beans out so I just followed him to the cafeteria. I tightened the straps of my bag and walked quietly behind Sehun, thinking of many bad scenarios that might have happened to him.
“So this is why you skipped school for the past two days.” I prompted once Sehun went back from buying his favourite drink.
We were seated at one of the empty tables. The cafeteria wasn’t that empty, considering that school had just ended.
“You won’t let me live without asking, will you?” He chuckled as he took a satisfying sip from his drink.
“Okay. So what happened?” I continued to bug him.
“I tripped on myself and hit the edge of my coffee table.” He explained.
I paused dramatically, contemplating whether to believe him or not.
“I told you it was nothing.” He continued once he sensed that I was rendered speechless upon his statement.
“This cannot be nothing, Oh Sehun.” I said firmly and tried to reach out to examine his lips.
However, I did it too forcefully that I accidentally knocked down the bubble tea he was drinking. The wound on his lip was cut open, my bad.
“Yah!” Sehun screamed a little.
“Why are you so violent?”
“I’m sorry. I didn’t meant to.” I apologised profusely while putting one hand on his lip to stop the bleeding while the other one was busy trying to stop the bubble tea from flowing its content out.
“Yah! Yah! My phone! Our phones!” Sehun complained once he noticed that the bubble tea was spilling all over the table, where our phones were.
“Tissues. Tissues. Get me tissues.” I frantically ordered Sehun.
I was pretty sure we were making a commotion especially at this after-school hour. Gah, this was probably why Sehun and I shouldn’t be put near each other. We were clumsy beyond measure.
“Where do you put your tissues? I can’t find it. Oh my goodness, Jung Haneul. I’m so gonna kill you. It’s gonna spill on to my pants. Yah, Jung Haneul!!!”
I was in a full panic mode that I had no idea what I should do. My mind went blank because Sehun’s lip was bleeding and there was bubble tea all over the table which needed to be cleaned and not to mention, Sehun’s pants were getting wet because of the bubble tea too. Oh my goodness, what just happened.
“Here.” Suddenly another deep voice that I missed the most joined us.
Jongin took out a bag of tissue from my bag and helped me to clean the mess I just made. If my mind turned blank a few moments ago, it had now left the entire being of my body.
“I think you can let go Sehun’s lip. It’s not bleeding that much anymore.” He softly said.
“And you should put your tissues in your front pocket next time. Not everyone would know where you usually put your tissues if you continue hiding it inside your bag.”
It was as if my lips were sealed, I couldn’t say a word back to him and could only nod meekly. How did he know where I usually put my tissues?
Sehun cleared his throat, pulling me out of my deep gaze at Jongin. I was killing Sehun inside my head when I saw him smirking. Great, now he’s gonna tease me about Jongin.
“I think I can manage. Thanks, Jongin.” Sehun took the tissues from Jongin’s hands and began to pat himself dry.
“And you’re so dead, Jung Haneul!” Sehun warned and pointed his finger at me.
I knew he was joking and I was about to retort back when Jongin took over.
“It was an accident, Oh Sehun. It’s not her fault.” Jongin defended me.
“Yah! Kim Jongin! Whose side are you on? I thought you were my best friend?” Sehun quickly changed his attention to Jongin who was standing next to him.
“What?” Jongin shrugged innocently.
“I can’t believe this. Now, go and buy me a new bubble tea. Quick!” Sehun shook his head and massaged his temple dramatically.
“What? Why me?” Both Jongin and I was bewildered by Sehun’s random request.
“If you want to salvage this friendship, you better buy me a bubble tea, Kim Jongin.” Sehun stated firmly.
The nerve of this guy, I said to myself and leaned back on my seat.
Jongin could only roll his eyes before heading for the drink stall. I just stared at Sehun as if he had grown a horn on his head or something.
“What? Don’t tell me you’re not actually feeling giddy and happy and everything inside?” Sehun asked teasingly and raised his eyebrow.
“Shut up!” I managed to say and hit his shoulder lightly.
“Ouch! Why are you so violent these days? Should I warn Jongin?” Sehun asked and feigned a hurtful expression.
The thing about Sehun is that once he has started teasing you, he won’t stop. Like ever.
“Here you go, Your Highness.” Jongin greeted us back with three drinks on his hand.
“Chocolate bubble tea with extra bubbles for the Almighty Oh Sehun.” Jongin said and gave Sehun his drink.
I didn’t expect him to buy a drink for me, let alone buying my most favourite drink so when he offered a bottle of green tea from my most favourite brand, I could only let my jaw fell slightly ajar.
“You bought green tea for her, I see.” Sehun said a-matter-of-factly.
“Yeah, she likes green tea. So I might as well buy drinks for the three of us. You’re not the only one who needs to be treated well, right?” Jongin shrugged and drank his yoghurt drink.
I thought I was the only one who noticed the ambiguity in Jongin’s words, but I was wrong. Sehun winked at me and held his thumb up before sipping his bubble tea in delight.
The butterflies I had suppressed deep inside me were now back flying all over the place. My stupid cheeks had started to blush again. And my heart skipped a beat.
I thought I had made a progress in forgetting about Jongin, but now here he was sitting in all his glory before me and merely slurping his yoghurt drink, and my heart already went weak.

Thump! Great, I just dumped my thick textbooks on the floor. How graceful of me, I said sarcastically to myself.
“You should put a few in your locker.” Jongin suddenly appeared and helped to carry a few of my books.
“Yeah, I was about to do that.” I said nervously.
“Oh, it’s okay. I can carry them myself.” I quickly said once I noticed how Jongin carried almost all of my books.
“I saw how you were struggling. Don’t lie to me.” He said, flashing me a gentle smile.
“Your locker isn’t far from mine, anyway.” He continued and started walking for our lockers.
Wait, he remembered where my locker?
My mind was buzzing as I had different kinds of thoughts running. Only then I noticed that for the past few days, ever since that bubble tea incident with Sehun, Jongin and I had spent many times together. It would either be him joining me and Sehun or we would just randomly bump into each other. That was also when I noticed how it was him who always started the conversation first. This is getting a little suspicious, I’d say.
Jongin had never greeted me first all this while. Why all of a sudden? And where’s Krystal? Gosh, she’s definitely going to skin me alive once she knew about this. I should know my place. I should know my place. I quickly chanted my mantra.
“Now, here.” Jongin exclaimed as we reached our lockers.
He continued to help me even when I insisted that I could stuff in those books myself. I just continued to stare at him, half suspiciously, half admiringly.
His jaw was perfectly sculptured. And his cheeks rose whenever he smiled, and I like that the most from him. He had this cute side of him although he looked intimidatingly charismatic most of the time. And perhaps all these tiny things that I noticed about him were the reasons that drew me in. I didn’t need to be told twice to realise that I was falling all over again for him.

“Thank you for answering my last-minute call, everyone.” Joonmyeon started.
The group of students who went for the Suncheon trip was once again gathered at the Student’s Council’s room, per Joonmyeon’s order. I was the one in-charge for that event and even I had no idea what Joonmyeon was about to do. I was a little scared to come for this meeting, expecting that I would face Krystal and Jongin in the same room. But fortunately, Krystal was nowhere to be seen while Jongin was sitting lazily at the corner. It amazed me that in a room of so many people, I could easily spot Jongin even from a far.
“Our Suncheon trip has been a successful one, so on behalf of the Student’s Council, I’d like to thank each and every one of you for your hard work. I’ll be giving out these papers where you’ll write down one of your wishes. If it’s to my ability, I’ll try my best to fulfill them and be your secret Genie.” Joonmyeon explained.
The Suncheon trip had ended months ago. Why all of a sudden? I wanted to ask more but I stopped myself. It’s the intention that counts, I told myself.
As Joonmyeon started distributing the papers, I pondered about my wish. An image of Jongin flashed in my head. Great, now I couldn’t stop thinking about him.
Joonmyeon handed me a pink paper. I gulped and brought my hand to start writing. Thinking that nobody would see what I wrote, I started to pen down my thoughts.
“I want to have a sweet date in the park.” My paper said.
I looked back at my pink paper and felt giddy. I was actually thinking of Jongin while writing it and I couldn’t help but to smile. Ugh, stupid cheeks need to stop blushing.
Little did I know that one person was about to make my wish come true.
Make way for the Almighty Oh Sehun...
By the way, this story is reaching its end soon! /insert emotional emoticons/ ㅠ ㅠ
I'm not a fan of super long story with endless chapters so yeah hehehe.
And if you've noticed, I decided to delete my special chapter. Hehehe sorry if it confused any of you.
One more thing, I hope you're not mad at Jongin for being a slowpoke in realising his feelings. I mean, look at these gifs! ㅋㅋㅋ
See you in the next chapter, loves! ♡
Call me baby, kay? ;)
