Chapter 10
It's Okay, It's Love“Haneul, you’ve been face-palming yourself for the at least five times now.” Joonmyeon scolded me.
It was a Tuesday afternoon and we were at the library, brainstorming for ideas for my proposal. I was in charge of our upcoming community programme and I had to find ways to make things interesting to ensure that the students would want to participate. Ugh, I groaned inwardly.
Joonmyeon, being the kind person that he was, volunteered to help me hence our whereabout. Well, if you ask me, Joonmyeon just wanted to make sure that I got my brain working and not daydreaming. I couldn’t blame him because the guy’s head was also at stake – after mine, of course.
“Well, a little help would be greatly appreciated, Mr. President.” I faked a glare at him.
The guy sighed and rubbed his forehead. After a few seconds, he looked up as if he just had a revelation.
“We can try going to Jeollanam-do and do a little farming?” He smirked. The guy was so excited at the sound of his idea that he actually smirked.
“Okay. Let’s be more specific. Jeollanam-do is huge. How about Suncheon?”
I was about to type in Suncheon on the search bar when Joonmyeon jumped out of his seat.
“Yes! Finally I can see light in this proposal!” He extended both of his arms, inhaling as much oxygen as if he just came out of a cave or something.
I just rolled my eyes and went to type more things into my laptop. I guess, today won’t be as long as I thought it’d be.

“The library is closing in fifteen minutes, Han.” A black-haired girl approached me.
“Oh really? It’s that late already? Ah, thanks, Joo!” I was caught in a moment of panic but managed to flash a grateful smile to the beautiful girl.
She was Joohyun, my classmate who was also the head of the Library Club. She could be considered as one of my good friends here in this school. And I was so grateful to have known someone like here. She was someone I looked up to and whenever we were together I couldn’t help but to admire her.
While Joohyun went to tidy the library up, I was packing my stuffs into my bag and before I knew it, I was on my way out. As I walked by the corridor, I saw a group of students still lingering outside the guys’ shower room. I thought they were delinquents so I didn’t want to take a risk and quickly picked up my pace.
“Haneul?” A girly voice suddenly called me from behind.
I turned around to check my greeter only to be shocked by the sight before me. Well, just my luck.
“Fancy seeing you here.” Krystal flashed me her billion-dollar smile.
I nodded and almost instinctively my hands went to the straps of my bag.
“Are you going home now?” She asked a little too friendly for my liking.
“Um, yeah. I was on my way out.” I said as I pointed at the main gate.
“What a coincidence. We’re heading out, too. We can give you a ride if you want to.” She offered.
“Besides, it isn’t safe for a girl to be walking home alone at this hour.” She quickly added as she noticed my hesitation.
I didn’t know if it was her beauty or the aura that she gave off but I was pretty sure she sounded 101% convincing. I almost gave in to her.
“Ah, that’s alright. I don’t want to bother any of you.” I gave a grateful nod.
“No, it’s alright and I’m sure Kai wouldn’t mind either. Right, Kai?” She asked, turning her head to the side to face the handsome guy.
Kai looked very uncomfortable but he didn’t say a word. It ticked me off to see the almighty Kai being all submissive to Krystal. The silence among the three of us was so deafening I couldn’t take it anymore.
“I just remembered that I have to wait for my friend. Thanks for the offer but I have to go!” I tried to laugh it off but the ache in my chest wasn’t going away. I bowed at them and jogged to the exit. That place was suffocating me and I had to leave.
I must have run pretty quickly because I reached the bust stop outside my school in no time. When I had stopped running completely, the silence of my surrounding made things a little worse. The dim street lights didn’t help either.
I was left alone with my feelings and I couldn’t help but to ponder.
Why? Why must Jongin like a girl like Krystal? Why can’t it be me?
I leaned on the nearest pole and sighed.
If only I liked somebody else. Maybe, just maybe, it wouldn’t hurt this much.
Dugeun dugeun.
Why didn't Kai say anything? Why did Kai and Krystal go home together in the first place?
What's gonna happen next?
P.s. Seo baby made an appearance! Yay! ♡
