The last time Taeyeon felt the way she is feeling now was when she accidentally had cookies with peanuts on them, it's the worse kind of feeling, like she's choking and the air has been forcefully taken out of her lungs, making it hard for breathing. 

And only a used to be certain blonde who is now sporting a darker shade of brown hair has this effect on Taeyeon. Yet she failed to know she had the same effect to the person causing her distress.

Everyone scrambled out the hug when Taeyeon's voice echoed around the hall, various reactions can be seen from each faces, mostly of initial surprise turning to happiness, only one has evident sadness she couldn't hide, because no matter how happy Jessica is now to see Taeyeon in flesh, her fears are eating her insides rendering her immobile when everyone else started making their way to the newcomer.

After the exchange of warm hugs, a bit of tears jerking, and lots of catching ups with one another, both Taeyeon and Jessica only mustered an awkward exchange of

"Hi, welcome back Taeyeon."

"Thanks. Glad to see you"

"Same here."

"Great."

"Yeah."

"Ugh, I'll go get a drink first, I'm thirsty."

"Oh, sure."

And Taeyeon managed to find a way out of the potential embarrassment of Jessica hearing the drum rolls of her pounding heart. She knows nothing of what's going on in Jessica's life, she doesn't want to, because what she doesn't know wont hurt her, that includes the details that concerns Jessica and her best friend Yuri, to which she haven't seen yet.

It isn't easy to suppress a feeling that is screaming inside her, too deafening for her own good and Taeyeon decided to keep her distance to which Jessica interpreted as Taeyeon not wanting to be near her, because she don't want her no more. Oh how wrong her thought was.

The main event was about to start with Taeyeon still clueless of who is Tiffany's soon to be fiance. Taeyeon stood on a corner, the one farthest from where Jessica was standing. She had enough heart stopping for one night even though they only met an hour ago. Everything felt exactly how it was before, Jessica is just an arm's length away physically but she seemed beyond reach.

And Jessica on the other hand felt just as suffocated though the hall was spacious and with only people not exceeding twenty filling the room. What's suffocating the brunette are the overwhelming feelings and the presence of Taeyeon has made it way too hard for her to breathe. She kept her distance because she doesn't want to startle the other girl if she suddenly hugs her, because that is what exactly what Jessica wants to do, engulf the slightly shorter girl in a tight hug and never let go. So she's left standing across the hall from Taeyeon with longing eyes.

Oh how foolish, they know nothing of the fact that they are both feeling the same way.

"They're here!" Choi Sooyoung announced by the entrance grinning wide, this made everyone turn their attention towards the double doors that is slowly opening to reveal the couple getting engaged... and Taeyeon yet again experienced the biggest shock of her life.

As the couple came in to view, Taeyeon swore she had never seen her best friend glow so bright with happiness. Tiffany has always been one to wear a smile so bright, but tonight as she held her special someone's hand, love evident in her glowing eyes Taeyeon knew her best friend is in her happiest she has ever been.

But when Taeyeon switched her attention to the person who intrigued her the most - the one which held Tiffany's hand firmly, guiding her best friend towards the makeshift stage and has that look that screams all there is that matter in the world is Tiffany - shock is an understatement to describe how Taeyeon is feeling, or how her jaw dropped, her eyes switching to the couple standing in front, to the people around her and finally settled to Jessica who was standing at the side with a timid smile. Taeyeon is confused.

How can Tiffany be holding hands with that person. How can Jessica manage to smile. How did things turn into this. How on earth did Yuri ended up holding Tiffany's hand, looking at her like she's the world, a dazzling smile she wears as she gaze lovingly at Tiffany. Why Tiffany and not Jessica? Yuri was with Jessica but she isn't anymore, she's now being engaged to Tiffany whom the last time Taeyeon checked was straight. Taeyeon realized how much she is missing.

Despite the biggest confusion of what is happening, Taeyeon's gaze settled to watching Jessica and couldn't take her eyes off her wondering how she's feeling, searching the latter's eyes for any sign of hurt, or grief or jealousy but just like old times she could never delve into the depths deeper to understand her thoughts better and she does not know what to think about the smile Jessica is wearing all the while as the event went on.

Jessica feels it, how Taeyeon's gaze is not leaving her, watching her every move. They haven't exchanged words after the awkward greetings and though they are sharing a table along with their friends they haven't tried speaking to each other. 

But Taeyeon's never leaving gaze is sparking a little light of hope, that maybe there's a chance that Taeyeon's not over her yet and maybe she could use this chance no matter how little the time is for her to reach out to Taeyeon.

The party has come to an end and everyone was done with the congratulations and exchange of hugs. Taeyeon is sincerely happy for her best friend, she may not know what exactly happened but she's sure that Yuri will be able to take care of Tiffany and make her happy, with that she gave the two a hug and jokingly threatened Yuri to break her bones if she ever hurt Miyoung.

Jessica did too, telling the couple how happy she is for them while in the hug, and whispered a thank you to her caring, eyesmiling best friend. A thank you for another chance in love presented right in front of her though she does not need to be vocal.

Taeyeon could only watch the gleeful ex
