Jessica made her way back to her office right after the awkward dinner with Taeyeon.

For the first time, Jessica had no words to counter Taeyeon so she kept her silence until they finished eating and went to retire to their respective rooms.

On the elevator, Jessica did the favor of pressing the floor buttons where they are both headed - Taeyeon on the 12th and her on the topmost. But rather than pushing the button to the penthouse, Jessica chose the floor where her office is located. Taeyeon eyed her and couldn't help but voice out her thoughts.

"I've heard from Hyomin that you're staying at the penthouse, why did you press for your office floor? Aren't you retiring for the day?"

Jessica was taken aback by Taeyeon's question and the slight force in her voice. "I-ah. I forgot I have to sign some papers due tomorrow. It won't be long though." She lied - Jessica plans to stay longer for an overtime like she always does.

Taeyeon frowned but didn't say a word after and Jessica stays mum by her side.

The rest of the journey up to the 12th floor where Taeyeon's room is located was filled with deafening silence until the elevator dinged signaling they reached their first stop.

Taking small steps, trying to prolong their time together Taeyeon finally alighted and offered Jessica a small smile. Looking back for a brief moment to look at the brunette, Taeyeon bid her a goodbye for the night.

"Don't work overtime, it's not good for your health. I believe you have anemia? Sleep early Jessica, good night."

Jessica was stunned at Taeyeon's words and can only stare in shock as Taeyeon alighted the lift and the doors closed.

Worry was evident in Taeyeon's voice and it is something Jessica longed for the longest of time.

"Good night Taeyeon." Jessica whispered.

The floor was silent, void of people when Jessica arrived on her office floor. She went straight to her office and immediately started on the stack of papers she needed to read and sign.

Her life has been like this for the past years. After graduating, Jessica wasted no time and started working, she doesn't have to but she wanted to. Blanc & Eclare was born out of her passion for fashion but as the eldest of the two, she also has to take part in their family business. Being busy helped her get Taeyeon off her mind from time to time, but she could never deny, at the end of the day when silence swallows her up, she'd think of the girl whom she let slip from her grasp.

How does she make Taeyeon stay without scaring the girl away? Her comfort all these years was to know that Taeyeon is still single. If she could turn back time, instead of being the one to tell Taeyeon to follow her heart, she should have done it. Taeyeon is heavily broken because of her and she doesn't know what to do for behind her confident face hides her true self that is being eaten by fear and insecurities.

Looking back, I wasn't enough for her. Will I ever be?
