Momentum 9: Brother

“Hyung! Let’s eat our lunch to our favorite spot!” I beamed at him while holding out the lunch box made by our mother. He grinned and ruffles my hair. “Sure thing!” he said then put his arm on my shoulder before we start walking. This little gesture made me smile from ear to ear. I always idolized my Hyung. He good at everything and excels at anything. I’ve never seen him do anything bad nor things that can upset our parents that is why when I grow up, I wanted to be like him.

We finally reached our favorite spot which is the rooftop. I handed him the other set of lunch back and he patted my head in return. I was about to eat when the rooftop door bursts out open that startled both us. The gang of the most notorious and rebellious boys in our campus walk in. “Well, what do we have here. The oh-so-great-mr.president and his little brother.” The tall boy said, mocking us. I saw Hyung sighed then he calmly put his lunch down before standing up. “Chanyeol, I don’t have time to fight with you and your gang. So, can you please leave us alone?” he stated in the most polite way he can. I saw Chanyeol clenched his fist and snicker, “Make me Mr. President.” With that, Chanyeol’s group surrounds us with their glaring eyes. Fear suddenly runs throughout my body and I unknowingly tugged on my Hyung’s shirt.

Hyung leans his face closer to my ear and whispers, ”Sehun, close your eyes. Don’t open them until I told you so.” I quickly nodded and do what he says. In a matter of minutes, I started to hear grunts and groans. I stood there, doing nothing but to listen to the sound of pain. I cover my ears to so I can’t hear them but it is no use. No matter what I do I can still sound of violence. My breath becomes hallow until I can’t take it anymore. I open my eyes and saw the unconscious bodies of Chanyeol’s group members then on the corner of the rooftop, there’s Hyung who’s beating up Chanyeol to death.

“Hyung!” I screamed but he’s not listening to me. “Hyung!” I called him again and take a step closer to them. “Hyung! Stop!” I begged but he won’t listen. I’m too afraid to go any further closer to them. I’m scared. “Hyung, please stop.” I cried. His body suddenly stopped. His fist hanging in the mid-air, waiting to touch Chanyeol’s face. He turned his face to look at me and there I saw the side I’ve never seen before. His gaze is fixed in a murderous look. His body is so tense that anytime can explode. This is the time where I looked at him differently. He’s not the Hyung I idol
