xxvii. Cold Feet

He comes when it's almost 6 o'clock, maybe cutting his three hours sleeping since the hectic schedule for GOT7 is no joke lately. His eyes are drowsy and the eye bag is being obvious on his sleepy state. But he’s still rushing to her curling body on the couch and envelopes her in his usual comforting hug.

Youngji's face rubs with Jackson's wool sweater, and through a glimpse of her swollen eyes, there's a loose white shirt behind it. It is their favorite t-shirt, they often get into a fight to win the battle of the one who gets the honor wearing the shirt of the day.

It's simply because the white shirt is very comfortable worn, although sometimes Youngji thinks there's more of sentimental memory lingers in it.

"I'm afraid." She says through the hiccups, continues on her previous rambling on the phone that practically made Jackson jolted right away from his deep slumber. "What if, what if, he won't love me for forever?"

Jackson tries to pry her off the hug, but Youngji still clutches tightly on his sweater. She also gets it damped with her tears.

"You silly, he will never do that." He lets out a heavy chuckle.

"I say what if, what if. That's what is worst, right? There's no certainty on gambling, Jackson, there will always be another possibility on the other side—"

"Then choose the good ones." He succeeds at holding her shoulders and makes an arm gap between them, staring softly into her teary eyes. "It's on us to choose what we want to believe."

"Oh I don't know." She weeps even more, wiping her snot with the back sleeve of her pajama and continues bawling. "What if, what if he finally finds me disgusting and doesn't want to be with me anymore?" She mourns the-not-happening-thing-yet painfully.
